Today I received my 100x dark belly back from Catalena Hatters. I sent it off for a full renovation — completely broken down, redone, new liner, band, shape, etc..

I’m super impressed to say the least. I really liked the look and feel of the hat previously, but the shape didn’t quite fit my face. I had thought about just having it reshaped, but figured the renovation would be the best bet.

Turnaround wasn’t too bad. I sent it off in August, so I supposed it’s been about three months.

Found this 10X beaver hat on Facebook Marketplace after somebody's dog decided it would make a pretty good chew toy!

I figured there was still plenty of life left in it, and luckily I found someone who had a completely different vision for it. He wanted a short-brimmed, Merle Haggard-inspired hat, so we cut away the damage, reshaped it, and gave it a whole new look.

This is what I love about working with hats. The same hat can become so many different things depending on who's wearing it and what they have in mind.

My wife bought a new hat band for my working hat, and then her and my little girl found this turkey feather in our horse pasture and since she was so excited to give it to me I figured I’d add it to the hat. Wasn’t sure if I’d like the feather but I think it works well.

I've wanted one for years I just don't know what style this is called and I'm not talking about brand cuz brand makes things expensive I just want to know what style this is so I can find one that I can afford or even try to make one

Is there a certain type of person I guess? you have to be/profession you have to do to wear a cowboy hat.

I'm essentially asking if im gonna look like an idiot wearing one out without actually being a "cowboy" or owning a horse.

I’ve always worn 4 1/2 to 4 3/4 brims. Got a 5 inch & it feels HUGE.
My friends say it looks fine. Maybe I’m just getting used to it.

Hi all! I've had this Stetson Skyline 6X and noticed this stain on the underside of the brim. Is only visible from that side. I've tried pressing in cornstarch for over a day and brushing it, more than one round of Bickmore spot cleaner, a light 4:1 mix of dish soap and water. He'll, I've even tried diluted vinegar. Local hat store didn't get it out either. I'm honestly stumped as to what to do or try from here. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance!

I’ve never worn a cowboy hat before but really like the look of the open road. Trying to decide if it looks good and give myself to confidence to try it out 😅

Any of y'all have the huevos to wear one of the aforementioned antique styles out in public? I've never done it and probably never will, although there's a part of me that kind of digs top hats. Tom Petty was able to pull it off. And, for most of the early Old West period, these types of hats would have been far more common than what we now think of as cowboy hats.

Can or should I use 3M fabric water repellent on my felt cowboy hat? I am very new to the cowboy hat world. Just picked up a Watson’s Hat Shop I believe it’s a Ranger hat off Facebook Marketplace that has never been worn for $100 any help would be greatly appreciated

What is everyone’s opinions on this hat. Worth a purchase? I know obviously it’s going to be way better than my current hat as I only have a wool Stetson as I purchased it before I knew much about hat quality. So any opinions on this would be greatly appreciated thanks in advance

I am 5’4” but have a 40” chest. I don’t really dig the short brim hats. Anybody have some advice on the shape or style that would look best for my build?

My hat size is about 7 7/8, it is near impossible for me to even find a baseball cap that fits properly. If I get a straw, I have to break it in for a long time and always keep a hat jack in it to keep it stretched when I'm not wearing it. Felts are at least a little bit easier.

Does anyone else have this problem? Is there a way for a good hatter to stretch and resize a hat without ruining it?

Can any of you experts help me? I’m interested in a hat it’s a "5X Beaver" brand hat. However, I don’t recognize the brand, so I’m not sure if it’s a good hat or whether I can wear it in the rain or if I should be worried about wearing it in wet weather. I've been considering getting a black straw cowboy hat. Looking online most of what I see have the cattleman crown. My personal favorite is the RCA or teardrop crown. Who makes black straw hats with those two crown shapes?
