Update Behind the scenes: Core Builds Icon Pack v1.4.0 is live (500+ transparent icons for the sideload scene)

Post image
23 Upvotes

Hey Core Crew πŸ‘‹

You know I spend most of my time deep in the backend logic of the Configurator, but my journey actually started in visual design and brand architecture. Naturally, staring at a TV launcher full of stretched, mismatched, or missing banners for our sideloaded apps was driving me insane.

So, behind the scenes, I've been working on a passion project to fix it.

Today, the Core Builds Icon Pack is officially jumping to v1.4.0. This is a massive updateβ€”expanding from 81 to 501 icons (with 901 mapped components).

✨ WHAT IS IN IT

β€’ 501 transparent icons: Clean 16:9 banners at 320x180. Your launcher's card color shows through perfectly.

β€’ Zero guesswork: Every component is read directly off real hardware or an APK manifest.

β€’ In-app update check: It will now actively notify you when a new version is out.

β€’ One-press apply: Works instantly for Projectivy, Nova, Lawnchair, Apex, and ADW.

πŸ“Ί THE SIDELOAD LONG TAIL

Mainstream packs cover Netflix and Disney+ and then stop. The entire point of this release is the long tailβ€”the actual apps this community sideloads.

We have covered: TiviMate, Janky, Strmr, DodoStream, CloudStream, Debrify, Lumera, Arvio, OwnTV, StreamVault, Wave TV, Strexo, SYNC, TV Bro, SAI, APKTime, Unlinked, Moonlight, Metrolist, AT4K, ChillHub, LTvLauncher, Monet, and hundreds more.

πŸ“₯ DOWNLOAD & INSTALL

β€’ Downloader Code: 5270601 (If you have the old v1.0.0 code pinned anywhere, please retire it!)

β€’ GitHub: https://github.com/brevityA/CoreBuildsIconPack

Already installed? It will safely upgrade in place. We kept the exact same signing key and matching fingerprint, so there is no need to uninstall your previous version.

If you are missing an app on your homescreen, drop the package name in the comments and I will get it added!

Update Taking a breather to say thanks to the Core Crew β˜•

Hey Core Crew πŸ‘‹

So with all the big updates latelyβ€”the new Configurator, ESE v2.0, fresh device profilesβ€”I just wanted to take a breather and talk about Core Builds for a second.

First off, seriously, thank you. It’s pretty wild seeing so many of you picking up these templates, sharing setups, and tossing feedback my way. The whole idea’s always been to make solid, curated streaming stupidly easy for everyone.

But, you know, keeping all this up and running takes some serious fuel.

Core Buildsβ€”every one of the 40+ templates, the custom Configurator, the hosting, the docsβ€”yep, it’s just me. I spend a ton of late nights coding, tweaking filters, squashing bugs… pretty much whenever the house is finally quiet and the day’s over.

I don’t put anything behind a paywall. No ads on the Configurator. No pro versions or premium features. I want these tools free and open for everyone.

So if Core Builds has saved you time, cleaned up your streams, or just made TV setups less of a headache for you or your family, I hope you’ll think about supporting the project on Ko-fi.

β˜• Buy me a coffee on Ko-fi

Every coffee really does matter. It keeps the project goingβ€”those server bills, proxy workers, and all those late-night coding sprints. Sometimes it just buys me a free hour to chip away at the next update.

Absolutely no pressureβ€”the tools aren’t going anywhere, no matter what. But if you’ve got the means, and you like what I’m doing, a coffee can make a world of difference.

Thanks for being such a great community. πŸ™Œ

Update Get the v2.4.0 Update: 48 new walls, the icons you asked for, and a one-press update checker!

Thumbnail
gallery
18 Upvotes

Hey core crew πŸ‘‹

Core Builds Icon Pack v2.4.0 is rolling out now! πŸ”

Three icons. 48 new walls. One press to Support. This is the biggest wallpaper release the pack has had, plus an update check that finally answers in plain words.

πŸ“Ί Three Icons You Asked For

Binged, Buzz TV 6, and Telly Player now have their own marks in the pack β€” reported by real TVs through the missing-icons scanner, and drawn in the house style like everything else. That brings the pack to 991 icons.

Like every icon in the pack, each ships in two cuts: the square glyph for phone launchers, and a 16:9 banner with its wordmark for Android TV (the banner is what the first card shows).

πŸ”„ Check For Updates, Whenever You Want

About gains a Check for updates row. Press it and it tells you, in words: you're up to date β€” or here's the new build and what's in it β€” or here's why the check couldn't run right now. Then it walks you through downloading and installing, step by step.

Afterwards, a small badge stays on the version line: LATEST in cyan, or the version waiting for you in amber. No more wondering whether you missed something.

❀️ Support, One Press From Home

The last row on the home screen is now Support | Settings | About. The Ko-fi and Discord screen used to sit two taps deep; now it's one, and Settings links to it too. Opening it sends nothing, and none of it is required β€” every feature stays free, always.

πŸŒ… The Wallpaper Refresh

  • Horizons (12) and Deep Space (12) are redrawn: Same numbers, same names, same colours β€” whole new scenes. Skies with weather in them, suns and moons with atmosphere, ridge after ridge fading into haze; glows with texture you can actually see, dust behind the stars.

  • Fieldwork retires: From the couch, its 24 soft gradient washes read as one blur in five colours, so they're going away based on your feedback. Their numbers stay empty, the way 4 and 5 already are.

  • Three new series: Earth β€” eight walls of the planet from orbit. Wild β€” eight landscapes and night skies. Flux β€” eight 4K procedural abstracts in the house palette.

  • Honesty, as always: Earth and Wild are generated imagery, shipped at the resolution they were made at, and the Wallpapers README says so plainly. Flux is made by a script in the repo, seeds and all.

  • Collection size: The collection stays at 108 walls β€” and 48 of them are new or new-again in this release.

πŸ” Finding The New Stuff

Open Wallpapers and a New (48) chip sits at the front of the rail until you've seen it; until then the home row says 108 walls Β· 48 new in this release.

And before you set a wall, the preview now rates how calm its bottom third is (the part your app rows sit on) as calm, mixed or busy, with a percentage. You'll know whether your text will read over it before you press Set.

πŸ“± Phones Get Glyphs

Install the pack on a phone launcher (Nova, Lawnchair, Apex, ADW) and it now opens on icon glyphs instead of TV banners it can never apply. On Android TV, nothing changes. Touch the switch once and your choice sticks.

πŸ“¦ Updating

Open About β†’ Check for updates, or just launch the app β€” it checks at startup and will show the new build bar. Sideloading? The APK is on the repo's releases page. (Icons and wallpapers arrive with the pack; there's nothing extra to install).

πŸ–ΌοΈ The Cards (See Attached)

(In order)

  1. Overview: The counts, the five additions, what came before and what's next, how to update.

  2. App Changes: Update check, Support row, launcher-friendly defaults, the badge.

  3. Re-renders & Retired: Horizons and Deep Space before β†’ after, Fieldwork goodbye.

  4. New Series & New Chip: All 24 new walls at full 16:9, series by series, plus how the New chip and card-floor rating find them for you.

  5. Support & Community: Optional support, QR codes, community links.

πŸ”— Links & Community

If the pack has earned a place on your TV, support is optional and everything stays free either way. If you want to say thanks: GitHub Sponsors or Ko-fi.

Preview Preview] Core Builds Icon Pack v2.4.0 β€” 48 new wallpapers, re-renders, and the new card floor

Thumbnail

Hey core crew πŸ‘‹

48 new walls. Same 108.

Here is a first look at the massive wallpaper refresh currently sitting in the open v2.4.0 PR (PR #302). Two series are re-rendered in place, one is retired, and three entirely new series are added.

(Note: Nothing here is published yet. The art below is pulled straight from the branch, before any of it merges. v2.3.3 remains the live build).

πŸŒ… The Refresh, In One Breath

β€’ Horizons Re-Rendered (12): What used to be a gradient, a line, and a dot is now a fully fleshed-out scene. You’ll see graded skies, a sun or moon with its own atmosphere, cloud bands, a thinning star field, and fBm ridgelines stepping into haze. Walls 33–40 get their first generator ever, keeping their original numbers, names, and accents.

β€’ Deep Space Re-Rendered (12): Ridged fBm shapes every large glow into filaments and dust lanes. Discs now carry bands and grain, with a dense, faint dust field under the stars. Same walls, same seeds, completely rebuilt.

β€’ Earth, Wild, Flux (24 New): Three new series of eight walls each. Earth (109–116) shows the planet from orbit, Wild (117–124) focuses on nature and landscape, and Flux (125–132) delivers eight procedural 4K abstracts seeded in the house palette. (Note: Earth and Wild are generated imagery shipped at 1376Γ—768. The repo's Wallpapers README states this plainly. Flux is 100% reproducible procedural code).

β€’ Fieldwork Retired (24): At TV distance, the mesh-gradient washes turned into one big blur. Numbers 01–24 stay empty (just like 4 and 5), keeping the collection capped at exactly 108 walls.

β€’ The "New" Chip (48): Everything this release touched β€” the three new series plus both re-renders β€” collects under a single "New" chip. The home rail row will read "108 walls Β· 48 new in this release" until you've seen it once.

β€’ Card Floor Check: The preview now measures the lower third of the wallpaper (at or under 14% luma on the TV) and reports it as calm, mixed, or busy. This answers "will my rows actually read over this?" before you press Set.

πŸ”— Links & Tracking

Again, this all lives in PR #302 until it merges and tags v2.4.0 (versionCode 53).

Update Core Builds Icon Pack v2.3.1 β€” 986 icons, better missing-icon reports, and everything since 2.1.2

Thumbnail

Core Builds Icon Pack v2.3.1 is out! πŸ”

My last post covered 2.1.2, so here’s the full catch-up across 2.2.0, 2.3.0, and 2.3.1.

The pack now has 986 icons and 102 wallpapers. This update adds three icons, fixes a waipu.tv mapping, gives the two main apps distinct identities, and includes the improvements to scanning, reporting, and optional support introduced since the last post.

✨ Three New Icons (v2.3.1)

  • ARD Sounds: Previously called ARD Audiothek, with an audio-wave mark in ARD blue.
  • Pixee: A photo-frame/slideshow icon.
  • Morphe: An icon for the patcher manager.

(Note: There’s also a waipu.tv mapping fix for its newer launch activity. The artwork already existed; the additional mapping lets it apply to that activity too).

🎨 App Branding (v2.3.1)

  • Main Icon Pack: Gets refreshed cyan launcher artwork and a TV banner (a circle, square, play cue, and plus inside the rounded tile).
  • Glyphs App: The full standalone Core Builds Glyphs app now has its own violet launcher icon and TV banner, so it no longer looks like a second copy of the main pack.

πŸ” Missing Icons on Home (v2.2.0)

There’s now a Missing icons row under Art style, with a count for your TV. It refreshes when you return to Home, so newly installed apps can appear without restarting the pack. The same scan is still available in Settings. The results distinguish between:

  • Icon not applying β†’ Report: The pack has artwork for the app, but maps a different activity. The row shows what the pack currently maps.
  • No icon yet β†’ Request: The pack doesn’t have artwork for that app yet.

πŸ“± Better QR Reporting (v2.2.0)

  • A visible β€œScanning the apps on this TV…” message replaces the blank wait.
  • Failed scans show an error instead of closing the app.
  • App details and instructions sit beside a larger QR code, rather than stacking off the bottom of a 1080p screen.
  • Select the app on your own TV, scan its QR code with your phone, then review and submit the prefilled issue.

(If the GitHub app opens with empty fields, use Menu β†’ Open in browser. You can also photograph the TV’s report screen and attach it to an issue).

πŸ€– GitHub Request Checker

Added a GitHub-side request checker for icon requests and mapping reports. If required details are missing, it explains what needs fixing and points you to the Missing icons scanner. It updates one bot reply rather than posting duplicates, adds needs-info, and removes the label once complete. (This is repository automation, not background tracking in the TV app).

❀️ Optional Support (v2.3.0)

About β†’ Support Core Builds now has QR codes for GitHub Sponsors and Ko-fi. Every feature remains free whether you contribute or not. The codes are generated on the TV, and opening the support screen sends nothing. The project hub has also been cleaned up with direct links to Discord and r/CoreBuilds.

πŸ“¦ Install / Update to v2.3.1

  • Full Icon Pack (Code 5270601): Open it and press Apply, or select it in Projectivy Settings. | v2.3.1 APK
  • Glyphs Companion (Code 5804177): The small square-icon companion used by the Art style toggle. | v2.3.1 APK
  • Standalone Glyphs App: The full square-only app with its own catalogue, wallpapers, settings, and auditor. (Separate install, no Downloader code). | v2.3.1 APK

Links:

Thanks to everyone sending icon requests and device scans. If an icon still isn’t picking up on your TV, give the Missing icons screen a try β€” those exact component details make the reports much more useful.

Update Core Builds Icon Pack v2.1.2 β€” Pocket Casts, Silo, HBO Max, and a tighter alphabet

Thumbnail
gallery
10 Upvotes

Hey Core Crew πŸ‘‹

v2.1.2 is out. Two new marks, three redraws, YouTube's current red, and type that finally closes by shape instead of by the box around each letter.

(983 transparent icons Β· 102 wallpapers Β· version 46)

✨ What's New

Added

β€’ Pocket Casts: The disc with its two open arcs, in Pocket Casts red. β€’ Silo: Play plus three slotted bars rising to the right, in Silo's own three colours (blue / pink / orange). First icon in the pack with a third brand colour.

Redrawn / Renamed

β€’ TiviMate: Its own guide (channel column + programme rows) with the tick-shaped v on the slot that's playing now, in #97C1FF. No more generic TV. β€’ Flix Vision: A ring around a leaning F whose stem sweeps into the top arm, in the logo purple #866EAD. The old red-orange film reel is gone. β€’ Max is HBO Max again: Stacked HBO over lowercase max in the pack's stroke letters, mapped to com.wbd.hbomax.

Also in this cut

β€’ YouTube Red: YouTube, Music, Kids and TV move from #FF0000 to YouTube Red #FF0033. β€’ Aurora Store: Applies again β€” current builds launch ComposeActivity; it's mapped beside MainActivity. β€’ Optical Spacing: Pairs close by the white their shapes leave. Lowercase l grows a foot so it doesn't match I. Round letters overshoot 1.5%. β€’ Banners +5%: Mark and name caps sit about 15% above v2.1.1 for shelf-distance. Square glyphs stay put.

(Note: WAVEO beta still maps to the existing Wave IPTV icon β€” a mapping, not a sixth new mark).

πŸ“¦ Install / Update

Same Downloader codes as v2.1.1. Open the app and hit Apply, or map manually: Projectivy β†’ Appearance β†’ Cards β†’ Icon Pack β†’ Core Builds Icon Pack

β€’ Full Icon Pack (Code 5270601): 983 icons + 102 wallpapers, banners + glyphs. β€’ Glyphs-Only (Code 5804177): Square art, no banners. Installs beside the full pack.

β€’ GitHub Release: Read the full notes β€’ Direct APK: Download Here

Play Store listing is still coming β€” I'll share it once it's live.

If something on your shelf still shows a letter tile, open a prefilled issue from the app or on GitHub with the component name.

Hey Core Crew πŸ‘‹ β€” Core Builds Icon Pack v2.1.1 is out.

✨ What's New & Recent Changes

β€’ v2.1.1 Additions: Added the vSeeBox Heat family and WAVEO (beta). β€’ v2.0.0 Overhaul: A massive visual cleanup featuring a shared stroke alphabet, a single unified type band for all wordmarks, and cleaner banner layouts. β€’ v2.0.1 Tweaks: Removed the left-edge bar from the banner artwork for a much cleaner look. β€’ Rebuilt Icons: Seven icons were recently added or rebuilt from scratch, including HeatLive, AnimeTV, PatchWall, Stadium Sync, Xiaomi TV+, RTVE Play, and MaxPlayer.

(Note: The five attached sheets show the massive visual overhaul that started in v2.0.0).

Update Core Builds Icon Pack 2.0.0: One alphabet for every letter, 976 icons total

Thumbnail
gallery
8 Upvotes

Icon Pack 2.0.0 is live! πŸ”

976 icons, 1207 components. This release kicks off a broader overhaul: the pack's letters are now drawn one way at one size.

The pack spells a lot of app names: 218 icons are wordmarks (Tubi's t, NOWO, GREAT, the 16 marks inside rings and screens). Until now, those letters were drawn three different ways and at three different weights, so a single letter was a hairline and a five-letter word was a blob.

2.0.0 puts them all on one band: caps 96–200px, stroke and spacing tied to the letter height. Words that can't fit break β€” GREAT sets GRE/AT, nowo sets no/wo. The validator fails anything outside the band by name, so it stays fixed.

πŸ“ Banners & Consistency

Banners follow: the app name and the VOD/LIVE/SPORT kicker are drawn in the same stroke letters as the icon, a step lighter so the mark still leads. The kicker's tracking β€” defined in code since it shipped, never applied β€” finally applies. 13 long names also got a shorter banner form.

✨ What's New & Fixed

  • New Additions: HeatLive (#205), AnimeTV (#230), and PatchWall (#235) added.
  • Redrawn: Xiaomi TV+, RTVE Play, and MaxPlayer have been redrawn from their store icons (MaxPlayer is finally amber).
  • Auto-Assign Fixes: Pluto TV, Xiaomi TV+, and RTVE Play all auto-assign again on the devices that reported them.
  • Alignment Fix: The CNBC peacock, which was 96px below centre, is now perfectly centred on the grid.

πŸ› οΈ Icon Requests & Updates

Requests are easiest to fill when the issue includes a reference icon β€” the app's own launcher tile. Several of this release's icons were only possible because the real artwork could be read off a store listing or out of the APK; two of them had nothing on any store, so those came out of the APK itself.

πŸ“¦ Install / Update

(Note: Use a dark card background in Projectivy: Settings β†’ Appearance β†’ Cards β†’ Icon Pack. These icons are drawn for night chrome #0d1117).

Update Core Builds v3.16 β€” Critical save fixes, faster subtitles, and recent updates

v3.16 is live. Fixes a save failure that was hitting everyone.

πŸ› οΈ What Changed

  • Builds save again β€” subtitles default to OpenSubtitles v3+. AIOSubtitle, the subtitle source every build used by default, started taking ~12 seconds to respond. AIOStreams loads every add-on before it saves, so hosts refused the whole save with "Failed to fetch manifest for AIOSubtitle: 502 - Bad Gateway". New builds use OpenSubtitles v3+ (under a second). Saved sessions on the old default migrate automatically. AIOSubtitle stays available but is now labelled as slow.
  • SubDL without a key no longer blocks the save. AIOStreams requires a SubDL API key, but the configurator included SubDL even when the key field was empty β€” save refused. SubDL is now only added once you've entered a key; until then OpenSubtitles v3+ covers subtitles.

βͺ ICYMI: Recent Releases

v3.15 (Oct 3): * Built against AIOStreams 2.35.7 (schema was still read from 2.34.1). * Names and settings from shared links can no longer inject page markup (XSS fixed, found by CodeQL). * Upstream watch re-pinned.

v3.14 (Oct 2): * Default builds get their scrapers and release filtering back. * 4K builds rank cached results first again. * P2P, EasyNews, Offcloud, PikPak, Seedr and Debridio builds save again. * Offline mode retired (it was serving a stale v3.10 build to some users). * Retired add-ons can no longer break a save.

πŸ“Ί Also Current (Android TV Native Apps)

(Note: Use Downloader codes to install directly to your TV). * Core Shift v2.3.5: Screensaver + motion wallpaper browser (8829421) * Core Motion v1.0.0: Projectivy wallpaper-provider plugin * Core Doctor v0.1.0: Local-only streaming & suite diagnostics (8664938) * Core EQ v1.0.0: Room EQ from a test sweep + TV remote mic (7946159)

Update Core Builds v3.14 β€” Better default builds, smarter 4K sorting, and reliability fixes

🚧 What's coming next in Core Builds

The next update to the Configurator (tracked under v3.14) focuses on configuration reliability, smarter stream selection, and fixing real-world friction reported by the community.

(Note: There is no confirmed release date yet. These changes are based on open pull requests and may shift before they merge).

πŸ”§ Better Default Builds

Balanced builds are being updated to restore their full inline regex and scraper coverage. This prevents settings from dropping or being overwritten when configurations are imported or updated. Restored coverage includes: * MediaFusion * EZTV * Torrent Galaxy * Zilean * Knaben

🎯 Smarter 4K Sorting

  • Cached 4K prioritized: Cached 4K results will now be prioritized within the 4K tier, ensuring cached 2160p streams sit above uncached results when quality is otherwise comparable.
  • Quality-focused profiles will maintain their standard quality-first behaviour.

πŸ’Ύ Reliability Fixes

  • P2P & EasyNews: Configurations using only P2P or EasyNews are being fixed so they save successfully without requiring an unrelated torrent-debrid service.
  • Knaben Toggle: Corrected so it no longer duplicates the base preset.

🧹 Configurator Cleanup & Safety

  • Cache Busting: The old service worker is being retired so stale browser caches stop serving outdated configurator files to users.
  • Under the Hood: Unwired experimental code is being purged, Full Stack install errors are being hardened, and the overall bundle size is being reduced without dropping any user-facing features.

πŸ§ͺ Roadmap & Ongoing Product Audit

A full product audit is guiding the next round of background work, including: * Keeping the AIOStreams contract in sync * Reviewing strict matching settings that can cause empty results * Migrating legacy NAB options * Improving host compatibility and live benchmark testing * Making the CLI easier to use from a clean install * Refreshing CI and deployment tooling (safer GitHub Actions, reliable deployment for the icon-request service)

Follow the development: * Main Repo: brevityA/Core-Builds * Main v3.14 PR: Pull Request #776

[Community Address] Where I've Been, The Pivot, and Why AIOStreams Took a Backseat

If you've been watching the commits, you've probably noticed the silence on AIOStreams template churn and scraper updates. You might be wondering if Core Builds has stalled.

It hasn't. In fact, more code has shipped in the last few months than ever before. But my daily focus has deliberately shifted away from the endless upstream scraper/regex treadmill of AIOStreams and into building a native, living-room ecosystem for Android TV.

Instead of spending 40 hours a week chasing third-party breaking changes for a 2% filtering improvement, I built and shipped five native Android TV appsβ€”from custom launcher icon packs and chyrons to screensavers, motion plugins, and room acoustic calibration.

Here is the honest breakdown of why that pivot happened, what was built, and what it means for the future of both repos.

1. THE ELEPHANT IN THE ROOM: WHY AIOSTREAMS TOOK A BACKSEAT

When Core Builds started, the mission was simple: make debrid streaming on Stremio clean, reliable, and predictable. That birthed our template suite, the PWA Configurator, custom SEL expressions, and device-aware profiles.

Over time, maintaining that stack became an endless game of whack-a-mole:

  • The Upstream Treadmill: Upstream AIOStreams updates (v2.35.x churn, contract shifts, NAB changes, regex syncs) require continuous firefighting. You spend days updating scrapers, re-pinning source contracts, and auditing payloads against 102 KB host capsβ€”only for an upstream host or scraper API to break days later.
  • Diminishing Returns: The Core Builds template engine and Configurator reached a mature, stable baseline. Between the PWA, automated CI validators, and the Build Advisor/Doctor, the core streaming problem was fundamentally solved. Tuning an obscure regex for a single niche release group wasn't moving the needle anymore.
  • The Host & Scraper Fragility: The streaming setup was at the mercy of external factorsβ€”host allowlists (ElfHosted, Yeb's, etc.), provider API timeouts, and upstream schema drift.

I asked myself a straightforward question: Is spending 100% of my energy babysitting JSON configs and third-party scrapers actually giving you a better living-room experience?

The answer was no. The real friction when sitting on the couch wasn't having 18 streams instead of 16. It was everything happening around the playback.

2. THE MISSING PIECE: THE LIVING-ROOM TV EXPERIENCE

Sitting in front of an Android TV or Google TV box, the experience outside of the player was fractured:

  • Visual Noise: Projectivy Launcher is brilliant, but stock app banners and icons are an inconsistent mess of blown-up mobile assets and harsh square cards.
  • Missing TV Utilities: Android TV has no ambient live score chyron, no native TV guide overlay, and crucially, no status barβ€”you could never tell if your VPN dropped mid-stream without completely quitting your player.
  • Lifeless Displays: Screensavers and ambient loops were either bloated, ad-ridden, or sluggish 30fps webviews.
  • Poor Living-Room Audio: TV speakers and soundbars sound hollow, but consumer room calibration tools require expensive proprietary microphones.

No AIOStreams template could fix any of that. Native Android TV software could.

3. WHAT I ACTUALLY BUILT: FIVE APPS, ONE LIVING-ROOM BAR

Over the past months, almost all development shifted into brevityA/CoreBuildsApps. What started as a custom icon project expanded into a comprehensive suite of native Leanback apps built with physical D-pad navigation, strict CI validation, and direct Downloader deployment.

Here is what is live right now:

  • πŸ”Έ Core Builds Icon Pack (v1.9.8): A completely unified visual layer for Projectivy Launcher. Over 972 handcrafted transparent vector icons adhering to strict stroke geometry and night chrome (#0d1117). Plus, 102 4K wallpapers and bundled 60fps looping live video backgrounds. (Downloader: 5270601)
  • πŸ“Š Core Line (v1.4.3): A living-room chyron and sports/news ticker that runs non-intrusively across your screen. Features live sports scores, RSS channel updates, XMLTV integration, and a live VPN status dot that confirms your tunnel is alive while you stream. (Downloader: 7375676)
  • 🌌 Core Shift (v2.3.5): A dedicated, lightweight Android TV screensaver and motion wallpaper browser that plays clean 1080p and 4K procedural ambient loops without eating your box's RAM. (Downloader: 8829421)
  • πŸŽ₯ Core Motion (v1.0.0): A native wallpaper-provider plugin designed to feed smooth, fluid loops directly into Projectivy Launcher's background layer.
  • 🩺 Core Doctor (v0.1.0): A local-first network, stream, and suite diagnostic utility. Inspects local playback bottlenecks, DNS, and latency without sending your data to external telemetry servers. (Downloader: 8664938)
  • πŸ”Š Core EQ (v1.0.0): In-development room acoustic correction. It uses frequency test sweeps and your TV remote's built-in microphone to measure room reflections and calculate corrective DSP filters. (Downloader: 7946159)

4. WHAT THIS MEANS FOR CORE-BUILDS (AIOSTREAMS & CONFIGURATOR)

Let's be clear: AIOStreams and Core-Builds are not dead, abandoned, or deprecated.

Here is the exact status of Core-Builds:

  • The Base is Solid: The template suite and Configurator (v3.13) remain fully functional. All core automated test suites (306 Python tests, 624 Configurator tests, 75 CLI tests) are green.
  • Audited & Documented: We recently performed a comprehensive product audit (#772). We know exactly where the contract drift is, which templates need de-stricting, and which legacy NAB keys need migration.
  • Intentional Maintenance vs. Constant Churn: Going forward, Core-Builds will be maintained on a cadence of stability, not hype. I will not be pushing daily emergency commits for every minor upstream scraper hiccup. Upstream contract updates and template fixes will be batched methodically.

Core-Builds is the engine under the hood; CoreBuildsApps is the car you actually sit in. The two are complementary, but the priority needed to rebalance.

5. WHAT'S NEXT

Now that the core foundations of the Android TV suite are tagged, signed, and stabilized, the roadmap is balanced:

  • AIOStreams Contract Catch-Up: Resolving the open AIOStreams contract drift (#770), re-pinning against upstream v2.35.3, and cleaning up the strict-matching template warnings.
  • Suite Interoperability: Tying Core Doctor and Core Line directly into your streaming workflow so diagnostics and playback awareness feel seamless.
  • Core EQ Milestones: Continuing real-hardware acoustic testing on Leanback devices to bring room calibration to anyone with an Android TV remote.

HOW TO CHECK OUT THE NEW WORK

If you've only ever used Core Builds for Stremio/AIOStreams JSON templates, take five minutes to try what's been built on your TV:

  • Icon Pack: Enter code 5270601 in Downloader (or grab from GitHub Releases)
  • Core Line: Enter code 7375676 in Downloader
  • Core Shift: Enter code 8829421 in Downloader

Thank you to everyone who has tested APKs, submitted icon requests, reported edge cases, and supported on Ko-fi. The project hasn't slowed downβ€”it grew up.

Update Core Builds Icon Pack 1.9.7: 436 letter tiles redrawn as real marks (453 β†’ 17 left)

Thumbnail
gallery
10 Upvotes

Icon Pack 1.9.7 is out. πŸŽ‰

It's the biggest design pass the pack has had yet: almost every app that used to get a two-letter tile now gets its own mark.

✨ What's New (453 letter tiles β†’ 17 left)

β€’ 227 apps drawn from symbols in their real icons: hoichoi's two exclamation marks, Sun NXT's X under the sun, myTuner's radio, Stream Locator's pin, and more.

β€’ 219 wordmark-only apps get marks from their own logos: Where a logo is just a name (arte, NOS, KiKA, joyn, RTL, The CW), the mark uses that logo's short form and case in the pack's own single-stroke letters, plus whatever the logo hangs on the name: a plus (BET+, TF1+, M6+), a dot (france.tv), a play wedge (meWATCH), a ring or a frame (RaiPlay).

β€’ Letter tiles (453 β†’ 17 left): The 17 left are 11 whose logos are a character, crest, photo or someone else's mark, AnikenTV's deliberate AK tile, and 5 apps with no icon anywhere.

β€’ 124 colours corrected: Every icon was checked against its app's real logo. YouTube TV, Dish and Shudder are red now; APKPure and iQIYI green; SYFY yellow; MX Player blue.

β€’ 8 icons use their app's own two-colour gradient: Vibra, waipu.tv, Filimo, Lemino, OTF TV, AirPin Pro, Stream Locator, TVNZ+.

πŸ› οΈ Updates & Fixes

β€’ 130+ app names corrected.

β€’ New apps: Vision+, Basis, TubPlayer, TDUK APP Killer, TDUK APP Cache Cleaner, and four TCL system apps.

β€’ Bug Fix: With Monet as your home launcher and Projectivy installed, hitting Apply opened Monet's setup screen. It now properly routes to Projectivy again.

(Note: 971 icons in total. Banners are still the default; the Glyphs companion has the square set. Every mark is original Core monoline geometry: no vendor logos are traced or shipped).

πŸ“¦ Install / Update

β€’ Downloader Code: 5270601 (Or just update in-app from the update bar).

πŸ” Missing an icon? Use the scanner

The app has a built-in scanner that finds every app on your TV the pack doesn't cover yet:

  1. Open Core Builds Icon Pack β†’ Settings β†’ Scan for unmapped apps
  2. It lists every launchable app on your TV with no icon yet
  3. Pick one and scan the QR code with your phone

The QR opens a prefilled GitHub request with the app's name, its exact launch component, and your TV's details, which is exactly what I need to map it correctly. (If you can, attach a photo of the screen so I can see the app's current icon).

Guessing a package name gets an icon that never applies on your TV. The scanner reads the real one, so requests from it get mapped fastest!

Icon looks wrong, or applies to the wrong app? File it on GitHub:

Update Core Builds Icon Pack 1.9.6: 102 apps redrawn from their real icons & major Glyph refresh

Thumbnail

Hey Core Crew πŸ‘‹

Core Builds Icon Pack v1.9.6 is now available! πŸŽ‰

This release brings a major Glyph refresh for Android TV.

🎨 THE BIG CHANGES

  • 102 apps get their own mark: Letter tiles like VI, PE, and IT are replaced by each app's own shape, redrawn in Core's line style (Viaplay, Peloton, Immich, PPSSPP, and 96 more). Nothing is traced.

  • Real colours for 315 more icons: Colours are now sampled directly from each app's own launcher icon where reliable evidence was available. Eleven marks use their icon's own gradient, and six are two-tone.

  • Letter tiles read like the logo: Where an app's logo is a short wordmark, the tile uses its letters and case (arte, cda, CW, TF1, yle, vrt, RAI, LFC).

  • Functional family badges: The remaining 455 generic tiles get a cleaner design, with an open corner and a small badge for what the app does (TV, sport, music, tools, etc).

πŸ› οΈ FIXES & MAPPINGS

  • VidHub: Now applies on Chromecast. Its launch screen (TVSplashActivity) wasn't mapped.

  • Names: 51 app names are spelled the way the apps spell them (e.g., PPSSPP, TVING, U-NEXT, ZDFtivi).

  • Categories: WeatherYou and Forecast no longer show as SPORT.

  • New apps: Browkorf TV coverage added, and Arena4Viewer mapped as device-unverified.

πŸ“Š BY THE NUMBERS (v1.9.5 vs v1.9.6)

  • Total Icons: 961 β†’ 962

  • Generic letter tiles: 557 β†’ 455

  • Colour taken from the app's own icon: 2 β†’ 317

πŸ“¦ UPDATE NOW

(Note: Banners stay the default, and the square Glyphs are still one toggle away in the app. The Core Builds Glyphs companion pack has also been updated for the square-icon style).

Every icon has passed the pack's automated checks, but if something looks off on your launcher, tell me. Missing an app? Open an issue here.

Update [Release] Core Builds Icon Pack v1.9.1 is out β€” full TV redesign + QR icon requests

Thumbnail
gallery
8 Upvotes

Hey Core Crew πŸ‘‹

The last post here was v1.8.17, so this covers a lot of ground. The pack is now 943 hand-drawn icons, all flat 512px PNGs, no wordmarks, built for Android TV first.

πŸ“Ί V1.9.0 β€” THE APP GOT REBUILT FOR TV

β€’ Two-pane landscape UI: A fixed left rail for navigation, with the icon grid owning the right pane. Designed for a 16:9 couch, not a phone screen stretched out.

β€’ Responsive physical sizing: The layout now scales from the real panel width at runtime, so the UI is the same actual size on a 720p stick and a 4K TV. No more giant-on-one-box, tiny-on-another.

β€’ Search fixes: Fixed dead no-results buttons in the Pixel Neon fork's search.

🩹 V1.9.1 β€” HOTFIX

β€’ Pressing an unmapped app in the QR auditor crashed the screen on v1.9.0. Fixed β€” if you hit a black screen in the auditor, update.

πŸ› οΈ NEW SINCE V1.8.17

β€’ QR Icon Auditor: (Settings β†’ HELP β†’ Scan for unmapped apps). It checks your actual installed apps against the pack. Anything missing shows a QR code on your TV β€” scan it with your phone, and it opens a pre-filled icon request on GitHub.

β€’ Icon Inspector: Press any icon for its details and every app it covers, export the full 512px PNG, or launch the app directly from there.

β€’ Suite Hub: Install state + Downloader codes for the rest of the Core Builds suite (Line, Shift, Doctor) on one screen.

β€’ Alphabet Skips: Channel Up/Down buttons jump whole letter groups in the grid.

β€’ Search Fixes: The keyboard now follows the field, the cursor no longer gets stolen mid-typing, and the remote's Search key actually searches.

β€’ Asset & Content Updates: Settings/About screens, brandmark badge filter, Projectivy internal cards + input marks, two new 4K wallpaper series (retrowave + AMOLED).

β€’ Icon Additions/Redraws: Artemis, Pluto TV, Tubi, LocalSend, Fandango at Home, Hi Browser, BitTV, Vidio, GeForce Now, and more.

πŸ“¦ INSTALL / UPDATE

β€’ Downloader code: 5270601

β€’ Direct APK: https://github.com/brevityA/CoreBuildsApps/releases/tag/v1.9.1

(One-tap apply works for Projectivy, AT4K, Android TV's stock home, Nova, Lawnchair and other ADW-style launchers).

Missing an icon? Use the QR auditor in-app, or just open a GitHub issue here: https://github.com/brevityA/CoreBuildsApps/issues/new?template=1.new_icon_request.yml

Update Core Builds Configurator v3.9 β€” 4K-first sorting, host compatibility gating, and what your exported JSON actually contains

The last update posted here was v2.9.9. The configurator is now **v3.9**, template suite 3.7.0, minimum AIOStreams 2.32.0. Five configurator releases in between: 3.0, 3.1, 3.7, 3.8, 3.9. All of it is live.

Builder: Configurator | Tools: Core Tools | Docs: Documentation

⚠️ Read this first: An exported JSON contains your API keys

Export has never stripped credentials. The sanitiser that clears them runs on share links and imports only. A downloaded .json carries whatever you typed in β€” and these files get pasted publicly when people ask for help.

The v3.7 changelog said "Export JSON remains keyless by design". That was wrong, and v3.8 corrected it in place. If you exported a config any time in the last few months and posted it anywhere, rotate those keys.

From v3.8, the download names which credential fields are embedded (never their values) and points you at Copy a safe feedback report instead. It stays silent when nothing is set.

πŸ“Ί Two changes you will actually see in Stremio

1. 4K, Mixed and Ultrawide now sort by resolution first AIOStreams compares sort rules in order. Previously, cached status, expression matches, and score all came before resolution β€” so a well-scored 1080p REMUX could sit above a 2160p file. Now, every 2160p result outranks every 1080p result regardless of bitrate, quality label, or score.

  • The trade-off: An uncached 2160p now outranks a cached 1080p. If you want instant playback over the higher tier, use the 1080p profile or turn on Quality first (both remain cached-first).
  • Note: If you are on the 1080p profile, this does not bring your 4K back β€” 4K is deleted by that profile to save bandwidth, not just sorted down. Pick Mixed Β· Adaptive if you want 1080p first but 4K as an option.

2. 1440p is no longer ranked below 720p The 4K preference list previously omitted 1440p, causing AIOStreams to score it as negative infinity and drop it to the very bottom. It is now ranked in its proper place.

πŸ”„ UUID behaviour changed (including on public hosts)

Self-hosted instances can now be updated in place. The UUID field is now shown for any single host (previously hidden for Custom/Self-hosted). * On public hosts: A UUID plus a password used to discard your new template and return a link to your old one. Now, it updates that configuration in place. * A UUID with no password still only rebuilds the link. * To create an entirely new, second config, leave the UUID field empty.

πŸ›‘ Host compatibility is now checked before you deploy

  • Options your instance won't accept are greyed out with the reason (e.g., ElfHosted greys out Torrentio, P2P, and HTTP).
  • Restricted hosts strip custom regex, and you are told which patterns were removed (the Vidhin ranked-regex feed is allowed and stays).
  • Generated configs are now pinned to a specific AIOStreams release. Six fake settings that Core Builds previously emitted (like maxResults and minSeeders) have been purged because AIOStreams never actually read them. excludedStreamSources has been correctly replaced with excludedStreamTypes.

πŸ› οΈ Fixes & Smaller Changes

  • EasyNews-only Direct Install: No longer fails. The Library addon is correctly omitted if no debrid service is enabled (since EasyNews can't back it).
  • Direct Install & Export Pre-flights: Both now check for all required keys and payload limits before you export or deploy, naming exactly what is missing.
  • Manifest Passwords: Passwords under 8 characters are caught inline instead of bouncing off the host later.
  • Advanced Extras: Added NekoBT, Sootio, WebStreamr, and YaStream with route gating.
  • Midnight Host: Status updated to AIOStreams 2.34.0 so configs route properly.
  • Landing Page: Rebuilt with visual stream cards to show exactly what formatters draw.

🧰 Tools Hub Updates

Tool What it does
Template Builder The configurator
Template Inspector Paste/upload a JSON for instant validation and host-compatibility checks
Banner Studio 18 brand presets, 10 canvas sizes, runs fully client-side
Badge Builder Nuvio badge packs
Speed Test Measures every TorBox Hyperdrive CDN node
Addon Backup Read-only Stremio addon backup

Banner Studio contrast fix: Disney+ sat at an unreadable 1.98:1 contrast ratio. Every brand now carries its own background; all 18 clear the floor, with Disney+ fixed at 5.83:1.

πŸ” Troubleshooting & Known Gaps

  • One title buffers forever, everything else plays: This is not a config fault. Real-Debrid removes files by filename keyword, returning 404s for RD users while other services play it fine. (Added to troubleshooting guide).
  • Known Gaps: Per-resolution limits (maxResultsPerResolution) are not reimplemented. TorBox has no readable status endpoint (marked unverified). Fine-Tune "maximum NZB failover" still doesn't reach the config. AIOSTREAMS_AUTH_REQUIRED instances still have nowhere to enter access keys.

Verification: 1,176 automated tests pass on main. 69 template JSONs ship in Templates/. Issues: brevityA/Core-Builds/issues

Update Core Builds Icon Pack v1.8.17 β€” 931 icons, 276 new custom marks, 58 wallpapers

Thumbnail
gallery
7 Upvotes

Hey Core Crew πŸ‘‹

Last time I was here it was v1.7.2 (921 icons and 70 wallpapers). It is now v1.8.17. The icon count went up by ten, but that is the small number. The big one: 276 of the letter tiles became real custom marks, Monet finally got a wallpaper path that actually works, and the wallpaper collection was curated down rather than padded.

πŸ“Š The Numbers

Metric v1.7.2 (Last Post) v1.8.17 (Today)
Icons 921 931
Mapped components β€” 1,120
Wallpapers 70 58
Icons with bespoke art ~10% 41% (386)
Distinct glyph designs 71 451
Letter tiles 824 (89%) 545 (59%)

At the time of my last post, 824 of the 921 icons were a letter in a box. That was the number I was least proud of. The remaining letter-tile tail is a programme, not a sprint β€” but it's moving in one direction only.

πŸ†• 10 Brand-New Icons

[ πŸ–ΌοΈ Attach sheet-new-icons.png here ]

Stremize Β· Xbox Β· Nintendo Switch Β· PlayStation Β· HDMI Source Β· NoBuffr Β· WeatherBug Β· Core Doctor Β· Core Line Β· Core Shift

The console marks also map the companion apps users keep beside the box (Xbox Game Pass, PS Remote Play + PlayStation App, Nintendo Switch Online) for manual theming. HDMI Source themes Projectivy's SourceHDMI1–SourceHDMI4 tiles on both the legacy and the 4.0.1+ activity paths, so it themes on old and new launcher builds alike. Binge, Kayo, and Launcher Manager also picked up platform/package mappings in this release.

🎨 276 Letter Tiles Became Bespoke Marks

[ πŸ–ΌοΈ Attach sheet-new-marks.png here ]

Four waves since the last post:

  • v1.8.0 (Logo-fidelity audit): 203 icons got researched brand geometry (Netflix, Amazon, BBC iPlayer, Kayo, MUBI, TIDAL, Netflix's neighbours, and the long tail of regional VOD).
  • v1.8.8: 18 brand constructions rebuilt in the pack's own rounded monoline grammar (32px strokes, one accent, transparent interiors, no solid vendor slabs).
  • v1.8.13 (Broadcasters): Al Jazeera, France 24, CBC Gem, CNBC, Wholphin, SBS On Demand, Streamflix (and MGM+ rebuilt as a film-reel mark).
  • v1.8.14 (Utilities): 56 new marks covering 58 apps in the categories this pack's users actually run: debrid clients, players, launchers, browsers, file, and network tools. Utilities are drawn by what they do β€” a network tool reads as a node graph with a pulse, even if nobody has heard of it.

Also fixed in the v1.8.14 audit:

  • 74 monograms showed a letter the app name doesn't contain: (e.g., Corridor showed W, Crave showed B). 72 repointed.
  • 30 marks collapsed at a 48px Projectivy tile: MUBI lost all seven counters and read as a solid rectangle. 36 glyph shapes redrawn to a 32px minimum counter.
  • De-duplication: Hashed all 926 shipped drawables. 429 were byte-identical duplicates (one file served seven apps). Post-audit: 34 duplicates, 902 distinct artworks.
  • Raster presence pass: 920 icons received a night keyline so marks hold against a bright wallpaper without touching the vector masters.
  • Palette corrections: 32 catalog brand colours that were simply wrong (cycled palette slots) were corrected with provenance on every entry.

πŸ“€ Send to Monet (v1.8.15)

Monet Launcher never reads the system wallpaper β€” I found that by decompiling v1.0.84 rather than trusting the Play listing. The APK contains no WallpaperManager reference at all. What it does contain is an exported share target that copies an image into Monet's own background library.

So when Monet is your HOME launcher, the wallpaper preview's primary button now reads Send to Monet and hands the file straight over β€” no permissions, no export first, Monet toasts the result itself. The export screen adds Send N to Monet, which puts a whole selection into Monet β†’ Settings β†’ Background β†’ Gallery in one action.

Icon apply to Monet stays manual, but the in-app hint now names the correct path: Settings β†’ Apps β†’ Icon pack.

πŸ–ΌοΈ Wallpapers: 70 β†’ 58 (On Purpose)

[ πŸ–ΌοΈ Attach sheet-new-wallpapers.png here ]

The 30-wallpaper "Core Mark" series was retired in v1.8.6 and replaced by ten lit-circuit Circuit Core wallpapers; v1.8.9 then added four Motion and four Horizons rebuilt for stronger 4K visibility. 18 new, 30 retired, 58 left β€” four active series, all curated.

  • Series 1–3 are authored at 3840Γ—2160; Series 6 is honestly labelled 1376Γ—768 (it's JPEG sources β€” I'm not upsampling to make a false 4K claim).
  • Full images download on demand; only thumbnails are bundled.
  • The preview now shows the five seed-palette chips extracted from the image β€” a live preview of what Monet or any tinting launcher will pick up after Set.

πŸ–₯️ Android TV Hardening & The Pack's Badge

  • Navigation: Five controls were unreachable by D-pad. All fixed, plus a focus-reachability check in CI that flags this whole bug class. Correctly sized TV banner and launcher resources, focus restoration, TV typography.
  • Launcher Detection: Fixed so the pack can't detect itself as the launcher. (FLauncher apply support removed, it doesn't support icon packs).
  • New in-app filters: Core Builds, Remotes, Tracking.
  • Pack Badge (v1.8.16/17): The launcher icon stopped being a brand scene and became a pack icon: a rounded tile holding a 2Γ—2 grid of marks, drawn to the catalog's own monoline grammar β€” 32/26.2 rounded strokes, one accent, no fills, transparent ground.

πŸ“¦ Install / Update

Open the app β†’ Apply β€” it detects your launcher and hands off directly. Or manual: Projectivy: Settings β†’ Appearance β†’ Cards β†’ Icon Pack | Monet: Settings β†’ Apps β†’ Icon pack

(In-app updater checks at launch; *Download** pulls the newest APK from GitHub and opens the installer. Tip: use a dark card background in Projectivy β€” the icons are drawn for night chrome #0d1117).*

Update Core Builds configurator 3.0 β€” 4K builds actually sort 4K first now, plus host-aware option gating

Hey Core Crew πŸ‘‹

If you've used the Core Builds wizard to generate an AIOStreams config, 3.0 changes how your results are ordered. Two of these are fixes for things that were quietly wrong, so it's worth a read before you regenerate.

4K builds now sort by resolution first

AIOStreams compares sort rules in order β€” the first rule that differs decides the whole ranking, and nothing after it is consulted. Core Builds was emitting cached, then expression-match, then score, and only then resolution. So a well-scored 1080p REMUX beat every 2160p file before resolution was ever looked at. If you ever wondered why your 4K build kept opening with 1080p, that's why.

Resolution now leads the sort for 4K, Mixed, and Ultrawide builds. Every 2160p result outranks every 1080p result regardless of bitrate, quality label, or score, and the existing quality ordering still applies within each tier. This changes the sortCriteria your instance actually evaluates, not just the preview in the tool.

The trade-off, stated plainly: An uncached 2160p now outranks a cached 1080p. Putting resolution first switches off AIOStreams' separate cached/uncached ordering, which only kicks in when cached is the first rule. Cached still wins between two files of the same resolution. If you'd rather have instant playback than the higher tier, use the 1080p profile or Quality-first β€” both unchanged, both still cached-first.

If you're on the 1080p profile, this one does not apply to you

Worth being direct about, because it caught a user last week: on the 1080p profile your 4K isn't being sorted away, it's being deleted. The Stable and Balanced output profiles hard-exclude 2160p and 1440p, so those streams are discarded by your instance before sorting happens and no amount of scrolling brings them back. That's deliberate β€” it's what "Hard lock Β· 2160p excluded" on the card means, and bandwidth-capped users rely on it, so we haven't removed it. Switching Stable β†’ Balanced doesn't help either; both apply the lock.

If you want 1080p most of the time but 4K when it exists, pick Mixed Β· Adaptive β€” it ranks 1080p first without deleting the higher tiers. The wizard now tells you this on the resolution step instead of leaving you to work it out from your results.

1440p was ranked below 720p in every 4K build

The 4K preference list named 2160p, 1080p, 720p, and Unknown but omitted 1440p. AIOStreams scores an unlisted resolution as negative infinity β€” so any 1440p file sorted beneath everything else rather than just under 4K. It is now listed in its proper place. If you run a 1440p display or grab 1440p releases to save bandwidth, this is the fix you noticed was missing.

Options your host won't accept are now disabled before you pick them

Core Builds checks the AIOStreams host you selected and greys out what it won't take, with the reason on the option. On the ElfHosted community instance, that means Torrentio, AnimeKitsu, Torrent Catalogs, P2P, and HTTP show as unselectable rather than being silently dropped later.

The same check runs on the exported JSON and the direct install, so neither can carry something the target host rejects. There's a Host Compatibility panel listing what was blocked, what was removed, and anything kept that might still be refused. If the browser can't reach the host, it falls back to a stored capability list rather than guessing.

Restricted hosts and custom regex

ElfHosted runs with regex limited to a published allowlist, and sending a pattern outside it makes the instance reject the entire save β€” not just that rule. Core Builds now strips unlisted patterns before export and names each one. Synced regex sources are a separate allowlist and are handled separately: the Vidhin ranked-regex feed is on ElfHosted's allowed list, so it stays. On a host we can't verify, nothing is removed and the panel flags what might be refused instead.

Six settings were being silently discarded

The generated config is now built from a pinned AIOStreams release (v2.33.2) rather than a moving branch. Regenerating the logic surfaced six keys Core Builds had been emitting that don't exist in AIOStreams at all and were being dropped on arrival: maxResults, maxResultsPerResolution, seadexBestOnly, excludedStreamSources, enhanceResults, and minSeeders.

They're gone from the output. excludedStreamSources is replaced by excludedStreamTypes, which the instance actually reads.

Known gaps, so they're not a surprise:

  • The per-resolution result limits that maxResults/maxResultsPerResolution were meant to provide aren't reimplemented β€” they were simply never reaching the instance.
  • TorBox-hosted AIOStreams has no readable status endpoint, so its capabilities are marked unverified and you'll be asked to confirm the host.
  • The Fine-Tune "maximum NZB failover" setting still doesn't reach the generated config.
  • The pre-built templates in the repo are not updated yet. If you install a core-nexus-*.json directly rather than generating one, it still uses the old cached-first order. That's a follow-up.

Regenerate your config via the web tool to pick this up β€” existing installs won't change on their own.

Update What streaming app do you use: WuPlay, Nuvio, or Stremio?

Hey Core Crew πŸ‘‹

Quick question for the community: Which streaming app is currently driving your setup?

If you haven’t tried WuPlay yet, would you consider giving it a spin?

I’m gathering some thoughts on what features actually matter most to you day-to-day. Is it the navigation and UI, add-on compatibility, watchlists, profiles, multi-device syncing, playback quality, or something else entirely?

What do you love (or hate) about your current daily driver? Drop your feedback below.

(Note: Please keep the discussion to official sources and legally available add-ons/content).

Update Configurator v2.99 β€” badges, a speed test that tells the truth, stream scoring that actually runs + 14 releases since July

Hey Core Crew πŸ‘‹

Biggest backlog this project has ever shipped: 14 configurator releases and 7 template-suite releases since July. Here is the clean breakdown of everything that landed.

🏷️ Core Badge Builder (Nuvio Fusion)

Build stream badges visually with zero regex and zero JSON. * 111 original Core badges: Neon, monochrome, and high-contrast themes with custom ordering and real-title previews. * Universal mode: Reads standard filenames and parsed metadata on any Nuvio source. * AIO Enhanced mode: Uses invisible markers and a companion formatter for sparse titles. * 3 ready packs: core_neon_universal (55 badges), core_neon_enhanced (55 badges), and core_nodv_universal (54 badges for non-DV panels). * Safe imports: Automatically downloads a JSON backup of your config before writing.

🏎️ CoreSpeed v3 (TorBox CDN Benchmark)

v1 and v2 had methodology flaws that didn't reflect true CDN speeds. v3 completely rebuilds the engine: * Dedicated Web Worker: Download measurement is isolated off the main UI thread so rendering can never starve the test. * Real test sizes: Measures 15-second windows on 1 GB files instead of 10-second bursts on 100 MB files. * Steady-state median: Measures each node twice and ranks by steady-state median with a consistency spread indicator. * 3 test modes: Accurate (1 sequential connection, earns streaming verdict), Express (top 4 by ping), and Capacity Race (up to 8 connections for pipe limits). * Privacy first: 100% in-browser, no accounts, no API keys, local history storage, and a full diagnostics export.

πŸ“Š Live Stream Scoring

Until v2.95, score-based sorting quietly never ran because no ranked expression list was emitted. Advanced and Labs configs now ship active scoring rules: * Additive scoring: Resolution, source, HDR/DV, audio format, and release-group reputation now contribute points directly instead of relying on rigid tier ladders. * Dynamic ranking: A top-tier 4K remux with Atmos automatically outranks generic 4K remuxes without custom rule writing. * Hardware-aware: Points for Dolby Vision and lossless audio only apply to devices capable of playing them. * Stable & Balanced profiles: Deliberately clear scoring to preserve predictable matching.

βœ… Preflight & Express Install

  • Preflight tool: Audits configs offline against known host rejection patterns and runs live dry-runs with an auto-heal loop (up to 4 passes). Retires the old 6-hour cron.
  • Express Install: 1-click, 2-step setup (pick debrid, profile, and device β†’ connect Stremio or grab manifest).
  • Explicit cache toggle: "Streams shown" selector (Mixed vs. Cached Only) is locked on the surface so profile defaults cannot silently override cache modes.
  • Host pick honored: Compatible custom AIOStreams hosts are honored; incompatible hosts trigger a clear, actionable error.
  • Smarter updates: One-click template update flow with diff viewing and instant rollback.

πŸ“± Device Profiles & Template Suite (3.5.0 β†’ 3.6.2)

  • Profiles added: Android TV / Google TV, Mobile, Samsung Tizen, LG webOS, Sony, Generic 4K HDR TV.
  • Bitrate-capped profiles: Fire TV Stick 4K Max gets a ceiling instead of Apex routing to eliminate REMUX stutter.
  • No-DV path: TCL and Hisense join ONN and Samsung on the non-Dolby Vision track.
  • SEL Engine v2: Interleaves stream options round-robin across resolutions instead of dumping 9 remuxes in a row.
  • Episode-pack availability: Season packs are only hidden if at least 3 playable standalone episodes survive filtering.
  • Scraper balancing: Addon Diversity cap prevents a single scraper from flooding results.

πŸ”§ Critical Bug Fixes

  • Debridio / Jackett / Prowlarr: Fixed exact API key parameter names to prevent host rejection on valid keys.
  • AIOStreams v2.33.1 & v2.32: Adopted same-day schema hardening, dropped dead torbox-search preset, and raised minimum host requirement to v2.32.0.
  • Size budget enforcement: Blocks oversized configs before deployment against the 102,400-byte hard limit.
  • Max File Size fix: Corrected logic where max size was erroneously applied as a minimum threshold.
  • Usenet Only path: Dedicated pipeline for pure-usenet setups without debrid.

🚧 Known Gaps (Open Roadmap)

  • CoreSpeed v3 on low-power TV hardware: Web Worker isolation needs broader real-world testing on Fire TV and Android TV sticks.
  • Groundwork staging: Language packs (8 languages), two-seat household picker, and named EasyDebrid presets are staged in code but awaiting UI toggle.
  • Jackett/Prowlarr UI: Direct generator emission is paused until instance URL inputs are added to the interface.
  • Real-Debrid preset: Omitted intentionally due to upstream WEB-DL filtering to avoid misrepresenting results.

Feedback is always welcome β€” especially CoreSpeed benchmark runs on TV hardware, edge-case badge matching reports, and stream ranking impressions on Advanced/Labs.

Update Wallpapers are in the app: Core Builds Icon Pack v1.7.0 is live (70 new 4K walls for Projectivy)

Hey Core Crew πŸ‘‹

The icon pack has a new Wallpapers entry on the home screen. It opens a browser of the full Core Builds collection β€” 70 4K wallpapers across four series:

  • 01–24 Β· Fieldwork: Meshes, aurora, light trails, topo, deepfield
  • 25–32 Β· Motion: Orbitals, warp, fogbanks, slipstream
  • 33–40 Β· Horizons: The eight semantic accent colors, each as a landscape (signal cyan, ember, Nuvio rose, labs violet, verified green, drift-watch amber, slate, void)
  • 41–70 Β· Core Mark: New this release. The lit hex and faceted core diamond, rendered from the Brand Guide v1.0 construction constants. Six compositional groups including the receipts-voice walls.

βš™οΈ How It Works

  • Instant grid: All 70 thumbnails are bundled (~600 KB total), so it opens and scrolls offline.
  • On-demand 4K: Tap a wall for a full-screen preview. The 4K image downloads on demand (~2–3 MB) with a progress label, then press Set wallpaper.
  • Monet integration: Setting writes the system wallpaper. Monet redraws and re-extracts its palette from the change β€” the walls are cyan-dominant by design, so Core Cyan carries through directly to your Projectivy tiles.
  • Fire TV fallback: Because third-party wallpaper writes are blocked on Fire OS, the app saves the JPEG to Pictures/CoreBuilds and opens the system setter for you (you can also set the saved image manually inside Projectivy settings).

Nothing downloads in the background. Nothing sets itself. The full image is cached in internal storage (12-file LRU, ~30 MB cap).

πŸ“Š The Numbers

v1.7.0 Β· 70 wallpapers Β· 921 icons Β· 1,095 components
17 wallpaper contract tests in CI alongside the existing 24 robustness tests and 22k catalog checks.

πŸ“₯ Update & Install

Update directly from inside the app (it will prompt you), or grab iconpack-release.apk from the GitHub link above.

(The collection lives at Wallpapers/manifest.json if you want to point anything else at it. Designed perfectly for Projectivy Launcher on Android TV / Google TV).

Precision-made. Verified live. Nothing hides.
