A group of friends and I went out to the pumpkin patch at Mahaffey Ranch (Millicoma River) over the weekend, and I’m encouraging you all to go check it out! I grew up in CB and had no idea it was up there. Stunningly beautiful scenery and a gorgeous property with a nice pumpkin patch, animal petting area, horses to ride, a corncob air cannon (so fun!), a hayride and lots of delicious homemade treats (cider slushies, yum).
It’s like a Hallmark movie up the river! Take your family/kids/friends and be charmed by the magic of autumn and delicious pumpkin cake.

9am chainsaws right next to your bedroom is a horrible way to start the weekend. Guys were jerks, too. DO NOT USE THIS BUSINESS

Hello everyone! I’m planning on attending SWOCC and possibly living in coos bay for a few years, i’m from california and have NEVER been to oregon before.

I’m just interested in hearing from people who have lived there, what is the experience like, especially as a younger person?

Just moved up here a couple months back and finding work has not been a walk in the park.

I do manual labor and heavy lifting.

I do gardening and yard work.

I’m perfectly content lifting hay, concrete, boxes or barrels and enjoy being on my feet.

I’m currently clearing yards of blackberry bushes and weeds to cover rent.

I’m also a martial arts instructor, fitness coach, and nutritionist. I lift 450lbs squatting, and 300 dead lifting. If you are looking for some martial arts training, I’ve worked with mma practitioners and boxers of every age.

I’m great with animals and I’m also not bad around electronics.

I recently designed and built room temperature super conductors.

I have 4 of them but no one is buying so there’s not much I can do there.

Let me know if you need an extra pair of hands! I’m not going anywhere.

I have most of my own tools. Shovel, rake, clippers, machete, etc.

What does everyone use to post or look for rentals? I’ve been using Zillow but not many postings there.

Is there a discord or a local group of video gamers, fps, strategy games, or any games in general. If not, someone should make a discord.

I have tried going into some of these video game stores, but everytime I start a general conversation about tabletop games, they already have their core group and aren't open or make it difficult to join in.

It seems so hard to actually meet anyone in this town who actually games or in general a 3rd space to attempt to get to know anyone in any shape or way.

Which is the sad part. Like what happened to casual people, just grilling out?

I used to buy 50 lb bags of perlite from Bully Garden Supply, but apparently they're permanently closed according to Google Maps. Does anyone have any recommendations where I can go for large bags of perlite and cheap grow trays?

I’m developing a series of impressionist artworks of Bandon Oregon. I would love recommendations of images to capture that showcase living in Bandon. I have many images of the beach. I would like ideas of other images that reflect the life and lifestyle. Think of how Monet would capture Bandon if he visited. Not just the beach.

Have some family coming into town and I was wondering if anyone had recommendations for where to rent quads in particular.

Does anyone know what the backstory of the current state of SWOCC's swim team is? More specifically, their longstanding coach was all of a sudden out early in the 2025 season. Then the assistant stepped in. Now a brand new coach. The team seems to be ~8 swimmers, but last year's freshman were over 15 (so assumption would be most of them would move up, plus whatever new freshman this year). Curious if the issues are being felt by swimmers. Maybe the program is not as high caliber. Other concerns?

I was just hoping to get some more insight into what might be going on. My younger child is looking at the school as a potential option for community college years.

Hi there! I moved to Coos Bay about 2 months ago and I'm having issues finding anything for like 3rd spaces, places to go to hang out and meet people. Bars are not my first option since I don't really drink, and being queer only adds to the complexity. I've been to So It Goes but I'm not sure how many people there are receptive to being approached. I'm also not sure where to look to see upcoming events.
