9-7 is realistic.

Not saying it will happen or not, but we need to finish the remainder of the games with an 8-4 record.

Jayden is back, Amos comes back next week and replaces our weakest position by far. If we dont get screwed with more injuries finishing out 8-4 is absolutely a realistic goal.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say 9-7 is literally impossible.  lol

9-7-1, same difference.

We’re not delusional like most of yall

If you don't care why comment?

u/Janus-a 11h ago

Not impossible but extremely unlikely. Schedule is turning out to be really weak. They should be able to get 3-4 more wins even playing at the current atrocious level.

It would have been a great year to steal a playoff run. But maybe a rebuilding year is better than a one off playoff year because of luck.

7

u/Justice989 11h ago

Very impossible. You'll figure it out. lol

Pretty sturdy limb you found there.

*9-7-1

u/hauttdawg13 It's Sonny Outside 12h ago

Of course, but we have to play better than we have

8

u/VonWolfhaus 11h ago

If this team ends up with wins vs the 9ers and Hawks, how are we considered in the league? Great team that got screwed by injuries and reffing in a couple games? Team that just got lucky twice?

11

u/chicomagnifico giving away free ☕ 11h ago

team that got lucky twice if we can’t beat anybody else. not unlike our weird streak of beating the eventual SB champions late 00s early 10s but ending up winning anywhere between 4-7 games.

3

u/djnemo65 11h ago

If we're not in the playoffs at the end of the year, I doubt the rest of the league will spend much time thinking about us at all

1

u/mosehalpert 9h ago

Team with two solid wins and 3 divisional toss ups. Every team's divisional matchups are weird.

1

u/jcrack30 1h ago

I mean think about each bullshit thing that happened in every game. We could pretty easily be 5-0 right now

1

u/SeaBurnsBiz 11h ago

Teams overlook WAS because they aren't good. Don't show up and play down to competiton. Get beat. In NFL gotta bring it every week, even bad teams can beat you because of parity with salary cao.

3

u/jck747 11h ago

One week at a time

9

u/StonkHatWoody 11h ago

12 games left.

3 vs division. This is a must. Weve shown it's possible

3 should be favored: Cardinals, Titans, Falcons

Need at least 2 of the other 5: 49ers, Rams, Bengals, Vikings, Texans, Jags

I think it is possible. I also think by the end of the year we will be playing our best football and healthy.

7

u/chicomagnifico giving away free ☕ 11h ago

how have we shown it’s possible if we haven’t beaten a single one of our divisional opponents this year or struggled against them the previous year?

The Eagles (until shown otherwise) have had our number and we’ve only beaten them when Hurts wasn’t playing, not a great indication. Dak Prescott OWNS this team and it sucks. He’s like some ridiculous 9-2 against us? And we couldn’t even beat the fucking Giants this fucking Sunday.

3

u/StonkHatWoody 10h ago

Started slow against philly in week 1, and they're worse now then they were then.

Jayden got hurt about to tie the game in Dallas, and they had 0 answers for our offenses. It was going to be a shootout, and our defense is better than theirs.

Giants were resuscitated by the refs. They were dead in the water, and we stole the ball with a chance to go up 3 scores. Instead Giant's got 4 Chances from the 1 and made it a 1 score game.

We can beat all 3.

1

u/Broke-American COMMAND DEEZ NUTZ 8h ago

We also have Dallas and Philly at home in the next match ups and we’ve been playing really well at home besides that brain fart against NY.

1

u/kbchucker 10h ago

I doubt seriously we will be favored against the Falcons if they’re still putting up 30+ a game.

1

u/StonkHatWoody 10h ago

We'll see when we get there. My optimism comes from the fact we haven't seen our full potential yet. If we start achieving it we could be favored in plenty of late season matchups.

1

u/kbchucker 4h ago

This roster is going to be 7-10 to 8-9 as its top potential. At least with the current “details, schmeetails” coaching staff.

1

u/chicomagnifico giving away free ☕ 10h ago

i think you’re overestimating our full potential, this is very likely our full potential

0

u/StonkHatWoody 9h ago

Only time will tell, but I see the defense improving every week. We now have 7 turnovers in the last 3 games. Offense with Jayden looks solid. If we eliminate the presnap penalties and questionable PI penalties our team is probably 3-2 at worst. 5-0 at best.

1

u/Frosty_Tax6054 5h ago

In what world are we favored in a game right now

4

u/The_Lawlbringer 11h ago

You mean 9-7-1? And how is that realistic at all?

This team hasn’t won back to back games since 2024

2

u/ButtNakedBitches 8h ago

That’s some powerful stuff you’re smoking sir

13-3-1 is realistic.

Team Zebra says NO!

4

u/Jinxedchef 9h ago

Is there a different team named the Commanders that some of you watch vs the ones I am watching on Sunday?

5

u/Equal_Suggestion2719 12h ago

We beating the 49ers

2

u/eddy_g0rdo 12h ago

Any given Sunday (Monday).

1

u/Apprehensive_Slip321 9h ago

Definitely not

4

u/TheHeftymanzell 12h ago

People just think Trey Amos is Pat Surtain I guess

4

u/No_Cell_8567 12h ago

The commanders are going nowhere. The coach is a mushmouthed, mush-brained idiot who does not know that when clock strikes 0 the game is over.

The OC and DC are both inexperienced and in way over their heads.

The roster is injured and deficient.

I do not understand how anybody can have any optimism at all under this regime. Did you hit your head this morning?

3

u/chicomagnifico giving away free ☕ 11h ago

they still think we have a time out.

2

u/Anotherweekend7 12h ago

I think you’re confusing the words possible and realistic.

2

u/BoldElDavo 11h ago

I'm refusing to get optimistic, but Jayden is a really good QB. I'm staying locked in on this season for the moment and seeing where it goes.

2

u/AmethystAlizerin 10h ago

So is 4-12-1

2

u/pinetar 9h ago

The record is 3-13-1 over the last 17 games.

3

u/CrispyMonrovia 11h ago

Same as it ever was

5

u/CrispyMonrovia 11h ago

This franchise really builds your character. 38 years of this shit. I wish I was cognizant from 88-92.

1

u/SentientNode 10h ago

No you don’t. I remember the glorious 1991 season and (and bits and pieces of the 1980s seasons) and it makes it even worse when you reflect on the decades of incompetence since then. The 2012 and 2024 season were basically like being told you are being released from prison, given a hot shower and a shave and a 3 course meal and then being led down the hall to your freedom and it ends in another prison cell.

1

u/Ok_Blacksmith_2207 11h ago

I have 8 plus tie. I have the Giants and Cowboys winning 5 more and Eagles 6. Split Division—if we don’t DQ fired, split NFCW, beat Titans, win our remaining home games against non-division Texans, Falcons. Niners, Rams, Vikings, Jags, Bengals—is JD able to pull a win out of these?

1

u/secondchance117 11h ago

One thing about the commanders , we’re gonna beat all the exceptionally good teams but lose to the bums

1

u/MeksisGod 10h ago

Lulz .... hope youre right

This sub don’t wanna hear bro. It’s pointless being optimistic and hopeful in here. They’re miserable.

1

u/Frosty_Tax6054 5h ago

No it's not

1

u/VegetableReporter360 5h ago

I think we will do better than a lot of people think, but as long as we stay healthy. I think 9-7 might be a stretch but realistically I say 7-9-1 or like 8-8-1

1

u/Technical-Sector407 5h ago

3 more wins tops. More like2

1

u/meththemadman 4h ago

We cannot go 9-7.

We can go 9-7-1.

We won’t.

But we can.

1

u/jcrack30 2h ago

Downvote me all you want I think we're beating the niners in a shootout. You think they're not ALL embarrassed? Jayden's gonna fuck shit up. Defense hopefully could be average. We get a tipped ball pick and a peanut punch fumble recovery, why can't we beat them. We will win this game. If you go in my dm's to shit talk (they'll be hundreds, I swear most of y'all hate this team closet ass butthurt eagle fans) and the skins pull out the win I'll expect my apology but honestly I'm probably not gonna read it. I'll be to busy celebrating that dub.

1

u/AbiesIndependent3365 51m ago

1-16 is more likely

1

u/PlumbusFist 12h ago

This made me spit my water out. Really good stuff. Top comedy. Cheers.

1

u/ivehearditbothways12 11h ago

Possible, sure, realistic? Naw I don't think that is realistic based on what we have seen.

1

u/EdFlynn2001 9h ago

9-7 is impossible because there are 17 games in the season and even if one game is canceled there is still a tie so maybe 9-7-1, but 9-7 is mathematically and logically impossible so it is not realistic.

1

u/GamerBucket 12h ago

7-9 is more realistic.

1

u/MarylandMan8201 12h ago

It's possible and 9-7-1 might get a playoff spot. SF on the road, bye week then Philly and the Rams are two tough games to return to, then Giants and Bengals next. I think they need to win in SF to have the confidence to get the record needed for playoffs. If they lose Monday night the margin of error is so slim. DQ hasn't lost the locker room yet but a blow out loss Monday night might be the beginning of the end.

1

u/Vivid-Respect-1869 11h ago

"Amos comes back next week" - is this a known fact?

1

u/crynarr 10h ago

Great. Be the team representing the worst division in the league and get dismantled in the playoffs by an ACTUAL playoff team
. to get the 20 something pick in the draft and save Quinn’s job for another year?

2

u/Appropriate-Sun834 5h ago

That would be the nfc south

1

u/8teamparlay So sayeth Brunell_the_GOAT 10h ago

Idk. Gotta win all 3 division games realistically to have any shot at yoffs

2

u/Ifeelstronglyabout 10h ago

yoffs is the fucking best thing I've ever heard

1

u/Sinomon 10h ago

what about 1-3-13

1

u/the_which_stage 9h ago

You see, it’s not because we have a tie 😏

1

u/camsle 9h ago

Some of you need to put the blunts down.

1

1

u/CommandersLandlord 7h ago

Fuk that. We need to tank. Jeremiah smith đŸ˜€
And Michael sainristill you still haven’t brought me the keys

2

u/disenchantedliberal 5h ago

tank for jeremiah smith with jayden and sonny styles looking like blue chips is low key a great outcome but folks would rather go 8-8-1....

1

u/CommandersLandlord 5h ago

Yup, mind boggling smh. Ima need the keys from a lot of these Reddit commanders (fans)

1

u/Appropriate-Sun834 5h ago

We’re not getting JJ. We won’t even be close

-4

u/thereisnospoon-1312 12h ago

Doomers don't want to hear any optimism. They just want to whine.

3

u/TheHeftymanzell 12h ago

Difference between optimism and delusion

1

u/thereisnospoon-1312 10h ago

This is what a loser says

1

u/TheHeftymanzell 10h ago

Alright point out the 9 wins my friend and let’s see which one it is

1

u/thereisnospoon-1312 10h ago

I’d rather be hopeful for the future than to spend the rest of the season bitching like a loser.

3

u/FPG_Matthew 9h ago

A lot of people here have had all hope stomped out of them and spit on. Can you blame them? Truly? We’re talking 30+ years now of nearly the same old thing

I’d be happy to hop on the hope train of a post like this if we’d spent the last 5-6 years with a winning record

But it’s so far from that, so it just comes off as corny. So I wouldn’t call someone a loser for not hopping on board. They’re just tired

1

u/thereisnospoon-1312 8h ago

I’m old bro. I watched the redskins as a kid when George Allen was the coach and we hadn’t won shit. We weren’t shit.

And then it all changed almost overnight. Riggins broke that run for a TD on 4th down against Miami and we won a Super Bowl. After that, when we watched games we expected to win. And we did, for years. That 1991 team was ridiculously dominant.

So it might seem corny to you,
but I’ve been here once already, and shit can change fast. It doesn’t do any good to complain because it just spreads misery.

1

u/Troll_Enthusiast He Sold 11h ago

They want to tank every season

0

u/eberkain 11h ago

Idk, I think 5 wins is the cap. Clearly the gods above have cursed this franchise.

0

u/crabmusic 9h ago

Realistic? Come on this team is terrible right now.

0

u/Proxximus-maximus 10h ago

Im here for it. And if it goes south. Hopefully there will be meaningful changes on the management and coaching Side as well as the player Side.

0

u/Z3roTriQ23 9h ago

I don’t see it happening unless we get few more guys to play beyond their standards. We might get the Eagles, Cardinals, Titans, Texans and maybe the Giants on the runback but that’s about it.

0

u/icepak39 9h ago

9-7-1 is highly unlikely. 8-8-1 is highly unlikely. I see, at best, 4 more wins for the rest of the year: ARI, TEN, HOU, ATL. That's it. If you agree with me, we should have a fire sale for Payne, Diggs, Rasul, Chaisson.

0

u/Internal_Confusion56 7h ago

5-11-1 is realistic

0

u/OverallOffer198 7h ago

All I’m saying is when we go 2-14-1 this year don’t be jumping on the bandwagon when we 5-12 next year.

-4

u/Countcoolboy 12h ago

Ngl if we went 9-7-1 and missed the playoffs I’d rather go 3-13-1 and secure a good draft pick and build towards next year, I would love to see us make the playoffs over anything tho
