Discussion The people in charge of this game are taking us for fools. We must be heard.

Not only are they refusing to acknowledge the pushback from social media, but the moderators of this sub are actively shutting down posts that criticize the new update. We cannot let them ruin the game we love, we've already seen what happened with Clash Royale.

It's clear that the only way our voices will be hear is if we stop buying their in-app purchases, game passes and continue flooding the app stores with 1 star reviews. They cannot keep ignoring us.

Discussion Supercell is the best company why are you guys hating 😔😔

Supercell has given one banger update after an another in the past year why are you guys spreading unnecessary hate. They have taken so steps to help the playerbase like they have told in their posts. Here are a few changes they did to help the players.

  1. They changed the equipment cap in eSports modifier to -3 and -6

  2. They had nerfed the gold pass in April.

  3. They changed the ui without anyone asking.

Why?? Because they love us and care about the playerbase.

  1. Every major update is riddled with hundreds of bugs. Why? Because changing ui is more important than fixing bugs that's why

Discussion This New Ui Update has really Opened my Eyes.

Before, I thought logging in to Clash Of Clans daily was something I did because I enjoyed the game. But after this Ui Update, it made me realize I really only played because I liked the Ui and its old look.

After the change, the game is completely different and almost unrecognizable. this change was too much. now the game feels like it came out in 2026 instead of 2012. It feels too fresh.

This is WORSE than when they removed training time.

Now I know why we all play Clash. Goodbye.

Discussion The new UI change seems.... Fine?

Post image
0 Upvotes

I don't love it, don't get me wrong but it definitely isn't making me want to delete this game like most on this platform.

I refrained from giving my opinion on it until now because I wanted to use it for a day or two before speaking out about it and what i came to think was... They could have done better.

I have played this game for seven years now, while taking breaks here and there so I am familiar with them always changing something drastically in the game (making new models for troops, changing how resources were collected, training troops and finally removing it.)

I had no attachment to the old ui, it had sooo many flaws. It should definitely be changed but right now isn't the best one.

Firstly, I like that they made the "suggested upgrades" tab bigger since it rarely ever was used by most of us. I like that they condensed some buttons to free the space up. I like that the top and bottom of my screens are clear now.

There are also thing to hate too. Firstly the fact that they made the ATTACK and BUILD buttons so bold, matte and big, since it literally counteracts them freeing up the screen from buttons. Those two buttons shouldn't be so visible since they are in the corner so we know where they are instinctively.

The other is the horrible color choice they used for the new build menu, matte brown isn't a good choice for a soft, bold and colourful theme of supercell games.

Then there is the issue with how the upgrade panels look, it makes them look like data sheets instead of something to look forward to, to make your army or base stronger.

Discussion The reaction to the new UI shows just how mentally unstable this community can be

I'm not talking about simple, thoughtful disagreements. And I'm not talking about people simply not liking the update. All that's fine. I'm talking about the absolutely mind-blowingly psychotic reaction some people are having.

People dramatically leaving, posting pictures of them deleting the app, saying that Supercell has taken everything that they care about away, saying that this is the worst thing that has happened in their lives (and no, I'm not exaggerating). This is not the sign of a mentally stable person.

So no, that kind of reaction has nothing to do with Supercell or its priorities. It has to do with you and your complete mental instability. Maybe instead of projecting your psychosis onto Supercell, try looking into a mirror.

EDIT: Since either some people have been living under a rock or are deliberately ignoring the absolutely psychotic reactions, please refer to the reddit post shown about 30 seconds in. If you're somehow missing this, I don't know what to tell you.

Discussion Feels bad to give up half my Gold Pass rewards, but that’s it

Post image

Last update was the last straw for me.

My main issue with the game right now is just motivation to play. I like the amateur competitive side of the game. Every few months I push and try to beat my previous best rank. My best so far is top 1k.

This time, while pushing through leagues trying to get to Legend 1, I got extremely frustrated. I spent 4 weeks in a row in Legend 2 having the best offense, a good base layout, and a fully maxed + supercharged account, and still couldn’t promote because other people were getting extremely lucky.

Like, how is someone with a 2.5 or 2.6 star average promoting while someone with a 2.9/3.0 isn’t??

Then I finally reached Legend 1, and somehow it got worse..

Defense wasnt any better no matter what base I used. Im subscribed to a top Legends base pack, and again, my account is fully maxed.

Mix that with a bunch of disconnects, healer AI trying its absolute best to trigger me, and the burden of having to do 8 attacks every single day, and I was already hanging by a thread when it came to the competitive part of the game.

Clan wars are even worse.

Its been what, 2 years now of 9/10 wars ending in a tie? Something like that.

Doing 2 attacks once every 2 days isnt that bad, but what am I even doing it for? A small bunch of ores so I can keep up with the endless stream of new equipment?

At this point, the only things really keeping me around are my clan mates and the one monthly CWL, which is still somewhat fun.

But since the new UI update, I noticed my coc screen time has been cut in half.

And when I do play, im basically just doing my ā€œchoresā€:
Star bonus on my 2 accounts, an upgrade if needed, assigning helpers, war attack, and Legends attacks on one account.

Thats it.

It feels like a full on chore that I just want to finish rather than a game I actually want to open and play.

I’ll probably come back to check out the new TH when it releases, and I’ll keep following the community.
Hopefully some better updates come along and give me a reason to actually want to play again.

Discussion The new UI isn't perfect, but it's not as bad as people say

Introduction

This new update came with a brand new interface. Did anyone ask for it? No. Was it needed? Not necessarily. As the devs pointed out, the old UI, even though we were all used to it, was basically just a bunch of random buttons.

A new interface with only the bare minimum, like the current one, is better than having tons of buttons and only using half of them, especially when they take up extra space on the screen. Yeah, now we have fewer buttons but they’re bigger, so the total space they take up might be smaller, but since they’re so big they end up being more annoying, which is kind of ironic.

So I think the idea of building a new UI from scratch to clean up the mess of the old one is a really good one. It’s not perfect, sure, but saying it sucks is a bit of a stretch. Keep in mind that Supercell itself said this isn’t the final UI. It’s just the beginning, and with our feedback we can help improve an idea that, as I said, is a good one. So now I’d like to do what we as players can and should do: give our opinion on what works and what doesn’t in this update.

Cons

I’ll start with what I didn’t like:

  • Resources: Resources are some of the most important things in Clash of Clans, so I’d like them to be slightly larger and more prominent. Still on that note, I’d change the gems and the shield: first of all, I’d change the color of the ā€œ+ā€ button. That bright green draws too much attention and makes it feel like the game is trying to get me to buy gems and shields. I’d prefer them to be like they were before, a bit more understated. Also, the gems and shield displays take up just as much space as the main resources, which doesn’t make sense because they’re not equally important. For that very reason, it would be better if they were placed lower down or even moved somewhere else (though I’m not sure exactly where. The main thing is that they aren’t near the main resources). When I look at my resources, I want to see how much gold, elixir, and dark elixir I have. I don’t care as much about gems, and I care even less about the shield, which I barely even pay attention to anymore since they introduced ā€œClash Anytime.ā€ So you shouldn’t give such different things the same visual priority just because they all fall under the ā€œresourcesā€ category.
  • Shop button: This button is somewhat important, but not important enough to justify being this big and separated from the rest (it’s the same size and in the same position as the chat button, which is MUCH more useful, important, and frequently used than the shop). I’d make it smaller (the same size as the pass button) and place it above the build button or the artifacts button.
  • Animated sword: Having an animated sword on the ā€œBattleā€ button that changes depending on the situation sounds nice in theory, but in practice, it’s just annoying. Putting so much emphasis on that button just to tell me I can get revenge, an option I barely even use anymore since they introduced ā€œClash Anytimeā€, just like the shield, feels completely pointless and annoying to me.
  • Buttons size: Like I said in the intro, having fewer buttons makes sense, since it cuts down the confusion. But the way they did it, we now have fewer buttons that are much bigger, and that ends up being more annoying than the old setup. The old layout was definitely messier, but it also looked better balanced than the current one. So what we need is the harmony of the old layout with the functionality of the new one (meaning fewer buttons on the home screen, organized in a better way).

Pros

In this update, I found only one really great feature: the build button. It’s not that everything else is worthless; the rest of the redesign just doesn’t really impress me. It doesn’t make me go ā€œwowā€, but it doesn’t make me want to quit the game either.

  • Build button: The build button is a truly great and extremely convenient addition. Sure, it takes some getting used to, but it has enormous potential. Finally, we can get a clearer overview of everything we can upgrade in our village, and filter upgrades to see only what we’re interested in (for example, gold upgrades, defenses, army-related upgrades, and much more. In short, there are plenty of filtering options). That said, I’d add another filter: sorting upgrades by upgrade time, since you can currently sort them only by cost, either from lowest to highest or vice versa. There’s also a Laboratory section that works similarly to the Builder menu, which I find very useful as well, especially thanks to the filters. And there’s a section for pets, which is fine. However, I’d remove the Hero Equipment section, because the menu you can access through the Blacksmith is way better.

Conclusion

All in all, I don't think the new UI is bad enough to make me quit the game, and I don't think the people who worked on it deserve all the hate they're getting. There are definitely some issues with it, but it’s not all bad.

What do you guys think?

Ideas & Concepts My suggestions for the new UI (rather than just saying it should be reverted)

Thumbnail

I've seen a lot of people on here say that one of the things that would be more productive than complaining about the changes and saying they should be reverted is offering actionable suggestions on how it could be improved. So I decided to try doing a mockup on how I think the new interfaces could be better improved without just going back to the original design, even though I prefer it. I know that this is a path the devs want to go down so I thought I would at least offer some suggestions.

Build Button Menu:
This one I redesigned more significantly. I think the concept of being able to filter things is a really helpful and useful idea but I found the way they did it to be kinda clunky and hard to read. So instead of having half the screen be what is currently upgrading I moved that to the top bar, where each of those little squares for the builders I would imagine would act as their own mini progress bars that you could see how long is left at a glance, similar to the old centered screen design. Then below I tried to simplify the filtering system while still providing customization. I think the fact the old one opens off to the right in this huge menu is kinda awkward. So instead its a cleaner more standard menu. And as well, I made all the icons a bit easier to read; the text was black on the brown wood background which was hard to read and the descriptions of the buildings themselves I think is just too much information since you can just click on the building itself when it navigates to it and see the description there. the icons are a cool idea though, again I just made it a bit more compact. Now theres also some simple, easy sorting options at the top by resource, with the rest being in the filter menu itself. I think resource filtering is probably going to be the most used and useful so it should be at the top instead of hidden. When you scroll through the default menu unsorted, now each upgrade type instead of all appearing together will be auto categorized so its easier to find what youre looking for, even without filtering.

Battle button menu:

OK, the change in styling is just personal preference and is not something Im set on at all, but I think they way they added the log and edit army button could have been a bit more organized. I just moved them underneath the two, instead of having logs for both ranked and multiplayer that both open the same log menu, I think it would just make sense, since you can choose which of the two you want to view in the log menu itself that you just have one log button and then its just next to the edit army button, which I made separate to the star bonus, which to me felt crowded.

Would love to know your thoughts and get feedback. Again this isn't meant to look exactly like the game style just meant to illustrate how it could be laid out differently. I dont think this is the end all be all, but I feel like providing concrete suggestions is helpful to getting the ui to a place that we all find more useful and helpful since they said its still a work in progress. :)

Bugs & Game Feedback The builder menu is growing on me

at first i was annoyed they moved the available builder icon because i was so used to seeing it in the middle of the screen. However i have to say the builder menu is kind of nice for seeing the progress of your upgrades. The progress bar and the time left make it easy to see quickly so i think i kind of like it better.

Secondly, one of the most annoying parts of the old menu was having to see the shop before being able to see the new buildings available to build. Now this is completely avoided.

So i want to say give this update a chance, it is obviously not perfect and they have already said they will find a better solution for account switching, and possibly other feedback

Ideas & Concepts Extra Ores Bonus for 3⭐ to make Wars more competitive

Recently i heard from a content creator that clan wars have just become mindless ores farming. So I have two simple ideas;

  1. Having 50%, 75%, 100% ores bonus for each star in every war attack.

  2. Having an additional 10-20% bonus for 3 starring each war attack

Since ores economy isn't the best for f2p players so I personally think the 2nd option would be the best choice. What you guys think?

Discussion My take on the new UI

Thumbnail

I personally don't like the UI, and here's why:

Minor issues

  • It looks too busy on the sides and not as well spread out as the old one.
  • I don't like how everything is so spaced out that it seems to be randomly floating about, instead of feeling fully connected and integrated as one experience like the old one.
  • I preferred the simple, clean white style to the wood textures.

Major issue

I HATE the builder menu. It completely changes the way you interact with the game, and it makes it feel like playing a shitty version of one of those PC city builder games instead of the fun mobile game where you plunder villages to make your own. I think it creates a distance between the player and the village that wasn't there before, and it makes the progression feel more artificial.

I have been playing this game regularly for years, and I had started to slow down a little due to being close to max, with no drive to supercharge or level walls, and being busy IRL. So when I see this complete hyper-optimisation-focused UI for a game that:

a) doesn't need it, and b) makes the game feel less easy to pick up and play,

it just doesn't encourage me to be more active again.

It feels like an attempt to just show people that the team has changed, but if this is the new Clash, I don't know if I'll be playing past TH19, especially after how much less fun TH18 was for me to grind in.

TLDR: Not a fan, and I hate the build menu. If you want to optimise, use Clash Ninja. I don't care what others think; I just had to vent about a game I loved and played throughout my childhood going downhill.

Discussion Stop downvoting people that like the new UI.

Majority of people, including me ā€œfor the most partā€ don’t like the new UI. But downvoting everyone that likes the new update is ridiculous. Supercell needs feedback, both positive and negative, an update shouldn’t get you this upset. Someone isn’t a ā€œbootlickerā€ because they like the look of the new UI, they aren’t defending supercell, there’s plenty of people in my clan that like it and find it more organized. Even though I don’t like it, I wouldn’t even consider deleting the game because of it, and if you would, you can do it, you don’t need to post about it. Review tanking is also ridiculous, the update has been out for less than a week, there’s a decent chance they revert it still, and people are flooding the app with 1 star reviews, let things happen and see, coming from clash royale, clash of clans listens to the players feedback WAY more.

Discussion Beating a dead horse

Post image

So this has been discussed ad nausea I’m but after actually playing the new update this is probably the worst part about the ui change for me (see image)

the black blotches are my thumbs when I initially load up the game. imo the most important information when at your main base is the activity of your builder and lab, previously this was easy to see at the top of your screen. With the new update as you can see with my natural grip on my main base that essential info is completely obscured by my own fingers, this is a major failure of design to the point that it seems like the developers neglected to play test the change.

That is all, it’s really a very minor inconvenience, but it’s an introduced inconvenience that nobody asked for nonetheless. Hope you liked my art skills I spent 2 whole minutes on it also sorry if the picture looks weird idk how to upload horizontal screenshots

Bugs & Game Feedback I noticed now certain notifications have different colors.

At first I thought it's become brown because I already clicked on the pass and didn't claim the reward (like it used to be).

But no. Thats a new notification for the pass specifically.

Edit: Also all the buttons have different colours for some reason?

Shouldn't there be uniformity or am I missing something?

Discussion Even if I try to accept new UI. There's one thing about aesthetic wise that pi**es me off

Post image
0 Upvotes

In old ui and in whole COC, there's used to one common thing- A cut in middle of icons and a dark and light color on bottom and top of it respectively.

It was aesthetic. It was a style of coc. Now it is all single color and not two which is ridiculous. Can we expect vice city with no pink color (NO) Can we expect Cod logo without dirt (NO) Can we expect minecraft without minecrafty font (NO).

The two color was the charm that is Shamelessly not there. Bring double color back!!!

(Ik I was the one that try to defend it but that was only because the feature it provided except many few since I saw many game did that already but the color pallette is so a## like not any other game change color pallette)

Discussion In new UI they put settings in profile tab, in which game have you seen setting button hidden like this ?

They always talk about making game easy to use for new players, oh yea very easy by making settings button hidden in profile.

We want a separate button for profile settings and account switching

And please put account switch button available when our village is being attacked by someone
