Help & Support (Console) Best Console DLCs

Avid Xbox player here.

I’ve bought a good chunk of the DLCs on Xbox. But curious anyone’s thoughts on some MUST HAVES. My favorites are skyscrapers and emerging downtown. Let me know some of the favorites out there.

Plazas and Promenades is a game changer and will always be my number one recommendation.

Can you expand on this and say why?

Pedestrian only roads is the reason.

Exactly what the person below said. You can create huge pedestrian only areas and greatly reduce traffic issues.

The map packs with the added prebuilt interchanges is a literal game changer on console where building custom intersections is time consuming and meticulous.

Following! I'm playing on Xbox too and hoping to catch some DLCs on sale at some point.

It’s 7 bucks

Right, and I paid $12 for the game. Waiting for sales pays off!

Plus I've also bought the game and some DLCs for PC, so everything I buy for Xbox is duplicate.

You are the first person I’ve ever come across that’s moved from PC to console. Thus I need to ask… why?

Pretty simple, I work on a computer for 40 hours per week, so I try to avoid using computers during my free time. Playing Xbox with a controller on the couch is a different experience. I could also use keyboard and mouse with the Xbox, but I prefer not to.

Xbox is also crazy cheap compared to a gaming PC. I built my main PC in 2017 for around $2k, primarily based on video editing, but it handles gaming pretty well too. Earlier this year I bought a used Xbox Series X for $330. The graphics capabilities of the Xbox exceed my PC (though alas, the storage does not). If you tried to build a gaming PC today that matched the specs of an Xbox Series X, you would be spending over $1k, even if you were buying used.

Cities is my relaxation game, it is to me what Stardew Valley is to many others. I've been playing it on various PCs for over a decade now. I really did not expect it to work well on a console, but tried it with gamepass and was impressed with how well it all worked! The controller mapping is quite good. So when I saw it on sale, I went for it.

Unfortunately Cities 2 is not available for Xbox, at least not yet, so I'm patiently waiting for that one.

Xbox player here as well. I have all of them. I hope you have mass transit!

Each DLC brings something cool to the game. Just depends on what you like in city building.

Looking forward to the 2 new DLCs dropping soon!

I think the only ones I would be ok without are hotels and financial districts because I don’t really care for the mechanics. Both do have some good assets though.

All others are essential imo (at least to how I play the game now)
