Discussion Does anyone have a reliable way to get chrome OS flex to work alongside a version of windows as a dual boot?

I would try dual SSDs as your best chance, but you will have to work out issues with boot loaders. AI can probably help figuring out the boot loader issues.

2 HD windows on one , disconnect the windows one,, install os-flex on the other one, when done reconnect windows one then choose your OS you want to run via bios boot device

Use a two drive computer. I just bought a Lenovo workstation (P1 Gen 4 w/ 64 gb RAM, and two 2TB ssd's) that officially supports flex and I have Windows 11 pro on the primary pre-installed ssd drive and ChromeOS flex on the secondary ssd. It works amazing, just hit F12 at start up and choose your drive.

Use Ubuntu stand-alone USB to boot with both COF & W disks connected & use the program available with Ubuntu-SA OS to set the NVRAM entries to point to the boot-file within the correct boot-partition within the respective disks. Those entries will then show up on Boot & can be selected then.

It is assumed here that the OS’s are on separate physical disks as that’s the only way possible.

Install as single img and patching the grub. Use gpt for instructions. Alternative install in nested GPT single partition. Need a lot effort to correct the grub booter. Include edit parameter to make it scan the nested partition

I dual boot an old T430 ThinkPad. I installed a second SSD for Chrome OSFlex and simply used the Lenovo startup options to select the desired boot drive. No additional software needed. Your computer probably has a startup options menu that you can display by holding a certain key down while booting up.
