It always strikes me as a more modern name from the 1980s to present time (mostly because of the movie and musical), but I've gotten so attached to it as a name for one of my characters from a gothic Victorian inspired setting. Can it pass?

A short description of my story and this particular character:

• Dystopian story that stars a group of rebels fighting to free their planet from a Cult-dictatorship
• character is a News Anchor/reporter, under employment of said Cult, BUT is also a "double-Agent" of sorts...
• Is in a FWB's type of situation-ship with my story's secondary main-lead, ( 😅 In exchange for sex, she gives them and the group of rebels the information they need to be one-step-ahead of all of their enemies' future attack plans.)
• Half-Japanese, Half Finnish, (the first name I have for her so far is "Liora", though this may change in the future; 🙂 I'd Gladly take suggestions, 😅 as unfortunately, I'm white-Canadian AF, and Finnish is not my 1st language.)
• very "Morally-Grey".

EDIT: FORGOT TO SAY!!! They don't have to be like CRAZY "Kira-Kira" anime surnames, They can be normal, just so long that they convey either one of the 2 above criteria in the title above, to you! 🙂 I'll listen to what anyone has to say!

I get i could use the ones from the real world but it would be very on the nose.

I need some weird ass names. Love writing, always been a big fiction writer, been running out of names/nicknames for characters.

I’ve literally named one of my characters Morgenach as a first name. Another one was named Starling… stupid I know right? It doesn’t seem all that bad but I PROMISE I’m not a freak,, I’m just allergic to giving any of my characters a name that is overly used or common or even just normal. I’m talking the strangest most unique names, like surnames as first names, or symbolic objects as names, or really cool places like cities or towns with titles that could be a cool name for a character. Literally ANYTHING, I’m desperate. Thank you love you.
