Anyone looking for a kitten or 2?

hi all,

last stray that had kittens here I found wonderful homes through here. well, another stray and more kittens. so figured I'd find homes through here again! there's 8 of them. Here's some pics. They all pretty much look like this. I didn't get all of them but can provide more to you if interested.

they're 8 weeks. I usually like to keep them a little longer before letting them go to a new home but momma seems sick of their shit already😂 (mom seems younger so might be her first litter?)

they're mostly girls but there's a couple boys. very well socialized with other cats. I'd prefer they go somewhere with another cat (or maybe take a couple). they're very friendly and playful. getting pretty lovey dovey. most are litter trained but a couple are still getting ahold of it. they've been eating dry food for awhile now.

feel free to message me if interested or have any questions!

Just moved…. So many gnats… is this normal?

So we just moved here (and before any one asks we have no fruit out,) but we have so many gnats.

I now have 3 DIY traps with apple cider vinegar and sugar and water and they are drawn to it for sure. But they just keep appearing.

I’ve learned that allergies are particularly bad right now because of the corn harvest etc, but is this a normal part of life too? It’s making me a little crazy.

Chambana -- come see CUSO perform Mahler's Third symphony at Krannert tonight!

Hey Chambana:

Champaign-Urbana Symphony Orchestra (CUSO) is opening its 67th season with Mahler's Third Symphony in Foellinger Great Hall at Krannert Center tonight. It's a great opportunity for a date night or just a totally different Saturday night experience -- a chance to dress up a little, soak up some culture, and have a totally great time listening to a symphony orchestra that many have called one of the best in the country. Mahler's Third is also supposed to be one of the most beautiful pieces in all of the classical music repertoire, and CUSO is going to be performing with the University of Illinois Women's Glee Club and the Central Illinois Youth Chorus (about a hundred singers) to really do it right.

Show's at 7:30pm tonight.

You can buy tickets at https://krannertcenter.evenue.net/event/26-27/CUSA

or just show up and buy tickets at the box office beforehand. Helpful hint: the best seats are filling up, so if you can, buy beforehand!

Who am I? My name's Vijay M. Rajan. As of June, I am the executive director of the CUSO. And I moved here to Champaign because I think this is a community that is uniquely and wonderfully supportive of the arts in all its forms. (Many of you might remember me as the screenwriter/director of the independent film I recently shot here in central Illinois and screened at the Virginia Theatre a few weeks back.) So yes, I hope many of you come to what promises to be a magical kind of night.

A little game series made by a 6-year-old and her mom

My 6-year-old daughter and I have been making a small game series together with the help of AI. She helps come up with the characters and ideas, and we turn them into simple playable games.
They’re very small, very simple, and made mostly for fun — but we’d be really happy if more people tried them and enjoyed Blankie’s little adventures.

I'd like to digitize old Mini DV tapes and need a working Mini DV camcorder. Before I buy one online I figured I'd see if anyone locally has one I can borrow or buy.

How reliable is Sams club delivery?

I recently got a Sams membership. I am planning an event next week and was thinking of scheduling a big delivery of their party platters and other stuff. I just want to know if this store’s delivery is reliable when it comes to timing. I am planning on a 20% tip. Any idea?

Should we choose Champaign?

My spouse and I are thinking about moving from the Chicago suburbs. We are mainly looking to spend less money on housing, but still want to live somewhere with an "city" feel. - Restaurants, shopping, people.

We are an LGBTQ couple. We both work remotely.

We have it down between Peoria and Champaign. Why should we choose Champaign?

Moving next year - family friendly communities & job market?

Will be moving to Champaign probably next year - I’m reading up on other Reddit posts about best areas to live in but will also inquire here as I haven’t found any previous posts similar to our situation.

We’re a couple in our early 30s and my fiancee received a job offer located in the northern part of Champaign. We’d love to start a family soon so I was wondering if there are any areas that are good for young families?

Also wondering about the job market there - I have extensive experience in administration, HR, Accounts Payable/Receivables, and banking/lending. I’d prefer to not go back to banking.

Where I am right now (big city), there are many job postings related to those skills/experience, but there is an insane amount of applicants. (I had 170 applicants within three days for an office position at my current company)
If anyone has any insight about this - I’d love to hear or discuss!

Thanks for taking the time to read this. Nervous but excited to move - I’ve lived in big city all my life 😅

Pride Parade Route?

Hey, y’all! I’m having a hard time finding info on the route for the Pride Parade on Oct. 17th in Urbana. Does anyone know where they’ll be passing by? I’d like to plan a meet up spot for our friends along the route.
My husband I just moved from Louisiana where parade routes are posted everywhere, especially during Mardi Gras 😅💜💛💚
