Hello all!

Ive been slowly catifiying my home, and have come to a crossroads on a design for a hallway closet. I have two young cats, and they like to get into everything, one will clear a whole shelf just to sit there.

Here are a few ideas i got, i am wondering how realistically "cat proof" it may be, along with maximum use of the space? Feel free to ask questions about or add your own ideas.

Important notes:

-Bottom shelf is to be an enclosed litter (they have one i made last year and its worked great so far, also stops the dog from scavenging with the kitty door)

-Middle shelf, or at least half of it is to be closed off from the front view and is to open up into the bathroom as a medicine cabinet.

-We do NOT want the cats to have access to anything above the litter

-The closet door is to be removed as it doesn't close properly, the doorframe will be cut out and re moulded to have access to the full width of this closet

The left most drawing has the idea of using one of those magnet screen doors as a "door", but i feel like the cats will end up finding out how that works. Both other ideas are to put shelving, either built-in or plastic units up to the medicine cabinet shelf, which would be minimum 49" up, but lifting it is possible if needed.

The rest of the closet would be used for Paper towels and/or blankets.

Thanks in advance.
