Discussion Finally proper multi device wireless

There are no dongles with proper multi device support. They either require you to discon, or wait ages for the other phone to connect. Also I want to be able to have a cable AND wireless on my headunit.

I finally found a USB switching board, that is also powered by the USB, and allows for simple custom switch wiring.

I had a blank button spot... Just need to put a better sticker on it :D

All you need is two cheap dongles, and the USB switch:

I see a rats nest of wires and you’ve got me curious but what problem is this solving? Having multiple phones to toggle through a CarPlay adapter?

Two wires for the switch, that's it. The other cables are the USB from the headunit, and the USB port next to the shifter.

Yes, many times the passenger in the car wants to play something.

I like this. Wife and I rotate vehicles and I've wanted to do a A-B bidirectional switch for two wireless carplay dongles for a while.

I did something similar in my vehicle because I wanted an easy switch for Wired CarPlay or Wireless, without unplugging my dongle. But I will say it added a lot of wires to hide and new point of failures, but so far it's been alright.

Ottocast Edge has a button for quickly switching between 2 phones.

Too slow for me, I switched from Ottocast to this solution.
