I am an freshly 18, pretty depressed bi guy, in an great and happy relationship with a trans guy, but for some reason this album has resonated me like no others have ever

Its like a safe space to me, I first listened to it 1,5months ago and i know almost every lyric by heart

I feel like this album understands my sadness, like when im in a bad episode I just put it on and like i can scream my lungs out to beach death and feel better

Its my favorite art piece ever, my brother got it on vinyl for me for my 18th birthday, it sounds amazing

I have also listened to Teens Of Denial and How To Leave Town, and even though I enjoy both of these ( espcially How To Leave Town), they havent stuck with me the same way as this album does

I could write so much more, its the most relatable art piece i have ever seen, like every lyric is so real, it all sounds so good

Before my favorite band was The Strokes but now its CSH, I cant understand how something this good and relatable was made, I love it so so much

Recently I’ve been trying to listen through Car Seat Headrest’s full discography, starting from the numbered albums. But while going in order, I want to listen to all Will Toledo has made. I know about Nervous Young Men and Mr Yay Okay vaguely, but that’s about it. If anyone has a list of every artist he’s been or even links/a shared doc to listen to every song that would be appreciated!

Bonus: I also want to look for the original album 5 before it got turned into MBIKMB and any other song that he got rid of thats lost media

I was looking through the CSH tracker, when I stumbled across a section which listed a bunch of (like 5) demos for the canceled "Wave Goodbye to the Jets". Here, I learned that "Way Down", a track meant for the album, was later retooled into a section of "Reality" off The Scholars. This had me wondering, "What other demos/unreleased songs could find their place in a future Car Seat album, one way or another?"

Personally, I've got my money on "So Mein" rearing its big beautiful head in some form (if you haven't listened to it before, I really recommend doing so; it's pretty much only a snippet but like hooooolllyyyy shiiiiiit is it a good snippet). I'm curious of what you guys think!

P.S. it doesn't doesn't have to be a full song; if you'd like to see a new song with aspects from an earlier demo baked in a la Reality, let me know also!!!

ive been listening to sm csh for like. a year now? it was mostly the 2010-2018 albums (esp twin fantasy. my favourite album of all time, i cried sm times). for some reason though i never listened to NYM, the length and less structured format were kinda daunting to me ig

soo this past week ive been listening to it and its honestly been really special, i didnt expect it to hit me this hard. after listening to a lot of tf and mm, where the main themes were hope for a twin fantasy and bitterness for when it failed, ig nym has more a sense of? quiet acceptance? its honestly really sad

it feels like dealing with the fallout of the twin fantasy and the isolation of your past, accepting that it happened and that a part of you yearns for it. but also knowing that what you wish for is not possible, like youre letting yourself just sit with it for once instead of throwing yourself in harmful relationships. its honeslty fucking devastating, no wonder the next album is about growing up and feeling lost

i so far have: hostile, thoughtful, live at brooklyn steel, acoustic demo, a mix-track of hostile and thoughtful, the version from the 2020/04/30 stream and the vinyl version all saved together on one playlist, are there any more that i don't know of? i know the yeule one as well, but i kind of don't like it in comparison to all the other versions i've found so far.
