Palestine Will Be Free! The World Federation of Democratic Youth condemns the abduction of Comrade Hassan Shehadeh, a leader of the Palestinian Democratic Youth Union (PDYU) 🍉 🇵🇸 🚩✊️🔺️

The World Federation of Democratic Youth condemns the abduction of Comrade Hassan Shehadeh, a leader of the Palestinian Democratic Youth Union (PDYU), the official responsible for the West Bank and Jerusalem, and a former Palestinian prisoner, by Zionist forces on September 17, following an attack on his home in occupied East Jerusalem. The abduction of Comrade Shehadeh comes within the broader repression faced by Palestinian youth, activists, and political organizations under occupation. It is part of the ongoing attempt to suppress the Palestinian people’s struggle against occupation and colonial domination and to silence those organizing for liberation, self-determination, national rights, and the Palestinian people’s legitimate right to liberation. The World Federation of Democratic Youth reaffirms its internationalist solidarity with its Palestinian member organizations and with the Palestinian people and youth in their struggle for liberation, for their national rights, and for the release of all Palestinian prisoners held in occupation prisons. For WFDY, solidarity with Palestine is inseparable from the broader struggle of the people and youth of the world against colonialism, imperialism, occupation, and oppression. The Palestinian struggle is part of the common struggle of people everywhere for freedom, sovereignty, social justice, liberation, and the right to determine their own future. WFDY therefore calls upon its member organizations to denounce the abduction of Comrade Hassan Shehadeh, to demand his immediate release and the release of all Palestinian prisoners, and to strengthen their solidarity with Palestinian youth and their organizations through political mobilization and solidarity actions. Freedom for all Palestinian prisoners! Long live Palestine! Long live international solidarity! #wfdy #fmjd

Discussion "New" MAGA Election Strategy; Split The Vote. What would this mean for our election strategy in the future?

Post image
9 Upvotes

On various social-media platforms it has come to light that MAGA/GOP is using PSL candidate for Ohio Senate Greg Levy to encourage dissatisfied Democratic voters and/or progressive voters to split their vote on a 3rd Party candidate.

As the Communist Party develops its electoral platform if feel we should take this into consideration. What does this mean for the Party when we can be used as a strategy for asymetical class warfare? I feel worried that this has a three-fold effect. One, we can anger progressive voters by being an unwitting tool of the GOP and drive people away from joining the Communist Party. Two, unless we're widely popular we more or less can become a weapon of reactionary populists to wield when they're weak. Three, the two former approaches could kneecap us running candidates in the future

Where do we go from here comrades?

History Enemy of Labor #12: Fred Hartley Jr. Rep. Fred Hartley Jr. of New Jersey

Enemy of Labor #12: Fred Hartley Jr. Rep. Fred Hartley Jr. of New Jersey was the House sponsor of the Taft-Hartley Act of 1947, which placed major new restrictions on unions. The law banned the closed shop, restricted secondary boycotts and jurisdictional strikes, allowed states to pass right-to-work laws and gave the president new power to halt certain strikes. Hartley helped reshape federal labor law—and not in workers’ favor. ❌

Statement of Condemnation The World Federation of Democratic Youth (WFDY) strongly condemns the suppression of peaceful protesters who gathered at Jantar Mantar, New Delhi, on 10 October 2026, to raise legitimate concerns over alleged electoral irregularities, the deletion of eligible voters' names, and the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls. Their struggle is a common cause for all those who believe in free, fair, and transparent elections. We unequivocally condemn the police action against demonstrators, including the reported manhandling, detention, and injury of AIYF National President Comrade Raushan Kumar Sinha, AIYF National General Secretary Comrade Sukhjinder Mahesari, AISF National General Secretary Comrade Dinesh Seerangaraj, MP Comrade Santosh Kumar, and other leaders and activists. The arrests and use of force against youth, students, and political leaders exercising their democratic right to peaceful assembly are unacceptable and must be held to account. WFDY demands the immediate release of all detained comrades and an impartial investigation into the police action. We firmly condemn the suppression of peaceful protest in India. We stand in full international solidarity with AIYF, AISF, and all protesters defending voting rights, constitutional freedoms, and democratic accountability. Protect Voting Rights! Ensure Free and Fair Elections! Long Live International Solidarity!

News Leaving behind white supremacy’s roots keeps us in the MAGA weeds

The people of the United States owe a debt of gratitude to Major General William T. Sherman, for it was he, his men, and their scorched-earth rampage through the state of Georgia that helped hasten an end to the Confederacy. And yet many still believe the South will rise again, and they hold the Confederacy aloft as some sort of talisman to ward off Northern aggression. At the same time, they think the Confederacy is a long-neglected paradise on earth that has yet to be realized. “Heritage, not hate” is the nonsensical phrase they use, and racism is what fuels them. Sherman should have kept going.

History books tell us that the Civil War ended in 1865, and accurate history books tell us that the Civil War was fought because the South wanted to preserve the institution of slavery. Ideally, history books written in the post-Trump era will note that many in the MAGA crowd are still fighting the Civil War. While MAGA and the rest of the far-right crowd think Sharia Law will be a consequence of the midterm elections, they also gleefully usher in the age of the Christian Taliban.

Much like Southern clergy used the Bible to justify their pro-slavery stance, the modern right-wing clergy continues the tradition. The repeal of Roe v. Wade and the abortion restrictions that followed, at the request of the Christian Right, have led to a doubling of the deaths resulting from ectopic pregnancies. Women are merely incubators under Christian Nationalism. Several prominent pastors have expressed their desire to repeal the 19th Amendment, and Secretary of War Pete Hegseth has shared that sentiment on social media. From taking away SNAP benefits to kidnapping immigrants to taking away healthcare, the Bible has been perverted beyond recognition.

The new civil war—if we can call it that—isn’t much different from the North vs. South conflict. The old Civil War was, to put it mildly, essentially a right-versus-wrong war, and that is what we have now. The rich and powerful hunger for more and can never be satisfied, so they keep taking from the poor in a reverse Robin Hood. To help them steal our surplus value from our labor, the 1% need an act of subterfuge. They need scapegoats and an existential threat that is never properly articulated. Immigrants, Muslims, feminists, communists, welfare recipients, etc., are all used to inflame the far-right MAGA crowd as examples of those who want to take away our way of life, whatever that means. The American dream is perpetually out of reach, and the only thing standing in its way is a group of minorities. It’s divisive, and it works.

In yet another instance of the modern, ongoing civil war, Trump recently held a rally in which he added fuel to the fire to further the divide between our two separate nations. While referring to the Iran War and his alleged success in preventing Iran from developing a nuclear weapon, Trump had this to say: “They can take out a city. Let them take out Los Angeles, let them take out San Diego. This is a very small price to pay…” That’s bad enough, but worse still, some at the rally clapped and cheered. Hearing cities full of innocent people described as targets to be “taken out” should instill concern. Instead, we heard celebration.

Hating someone you don’t know because they live in a state you were told to hate is turning geography into a personality disorder, and this is something that should concern us all. The enthusiasm for cruelty coming from Trump’s biggest fans was instantaneous, and the deplorable lack of empathy for someone with a different zip code was disgusting. The midterm elections have turned into a political pep rally, where both teams are essentially playing for the same side, and the people in the stands are the ones who will lose.

The damage control after Trump’s words went into high gear, but whether he said what he meant or meant what he said is erroneous, for MAGA will interpret his words however they wish. California is a Blue State, and anyone living there is the enemy, just like Jesus taught us.

While the Civil War was about upholding white supremacy and continuing slavery, much of what is happening in the U.S. can also be described that way. The Trump administration has successfully convinced MAGA that people who don’t look like them, have a different religion, or are a threat to the status quo in any vague way need to be “taken out,” and the only way to do that is to “vote red.” Mediocre straight, white men are in danger of not being listened to anymore, and this is an affront to the American way of life. Socialists and some left-leaning Democrats think we work too much for too little, and this is an affront to the capitalists who rely on wage slavery for their existence.

While the Bible tells us to welcome the stranger, MAGA supports ICE and their murderous rampages, disguised as law and order, which is just racism with extra steps. MAGA holds drag queens as the epitome of the decline of Western civilization, while maintaining that Donald Trump is a paradigm of moral superiority. The hypocrisy is consistent, expected, and never ceases to amaze. History shows that oppressed people rarely start civil wars. Those in power, or on society’s highest pedestal, start them when their power is threatened. Remind me of the demographic that stormed the Capitol building on January 6? It wasn’t immigrants or transgender folks or antifa.

What Major General William T. Sherman got wrong is that you can’t burn white supremacy to the ground. By not punishing those responsible for the Civil War and the Confederacy, by not pulling up the roots, the U.S. allowed white supremacy not only to continue, but to flourish. Now we have a garden full of weeds.

Anti-Fascism Unions, lawmakers castigate Trump for raid on Rep. Ilhan Omar’s home

WASHINGTON—The Minnesota AFL-CIO and House Democratic leaders slammed one of the more-brazen pre-election acts of the GOP Donald Trump regime, a pre-dawn Homeland Security Department raid on the D.C. home of outspoken Rep. Ilhan Omar, DFL-Minn.

Agents banged on Omar’s door at 4 a.m. or 5 a.m. on October 12, yelling “Open the door! Open the door!” Neighbors, awakened by the racket, later saw agents cart away boxes of possessions from Omar’s home.

One agent told a reporter they were carrying out a judicial warrant. The New York Times later reported the warrant alleged irregularities in the Omar family’s immigration papers.

Omar, who represents Minneapolis and a few suburbs, is campaigning for a fifth two-year U.S. House term in the deep-blue area. She was defiant, outraged and called the accusations lies.

“I will not be silenced,” Omar tweeted on the social media platform X.

“I’m OK. Make no mistake: This is an attempt to target political enemies and weaponize federal law enforcement. For ten years, Trump has targeted me with baseless lies and smear campaigns. This is just the latest escalation in his campaign of political intimidation.”

Minnesota AFL-CIO President Bernie Burnham and House Democratic leaders leaped to Omar’s defense. They all blasted Trump’s political motives and Burnham termed the raid an attack on all Minnesotans as well.

“Minnesota’s labor movement stands with Congresswoman Omar,” said Burnham. “She is a former union member and we believe an injury to one is an injury to all. If Donald Trump can do this to her, he can do it to any other American citizen.

“Disagreeing with a person’s political view is a sign of a healthy democracy, but abusing our federal government’s resources to attack a political opponent goes against everything our nation and Constitution stands for.

“It’s no coincidence this latest action, coupled with the president’s recent calls for violence against the Somali-American community”—which the state AFL-CIO denounced on October 9—“comes just three weeks before an election his party is expected to lose. This is a desperate attempt to sow division and hate, and Minnesotans won’t fall for it.”

“Trump is desperate. He’s trying to incite violence and sow division…because he knows working people across the country have had enough of high prices, increasingly unaffordable healthcare, and rampant corruption in his administration. He tried to divide us this past winter when he brought violence and chaos to our homes, but Minnesotans stood firm with nonviolent resistance and solidarity with our immigrant neighbors.

“Violence has no place in our democracy, and we refuse to let Donald Trump or anyone else disrupt our proud tradition of free and fair elections.”

As a child, Omar and her family fled from war-torn Somalia and spent several years at a Kenyan refugee camp before legally immigrating as refugees to the U.S. in 1995. After graduating from public schools and universities, she became a community organizer and political activist.

Omar, 44, is the first Somali-American elected to Congress, and Trump has made her and Minnesota’s Somali community a particular target of his hate.

And Trump Homeland Security Secretary MarkWayne Mullin, alleged on a right-wing talk show weeks before the raid that there were unspecified problems in the immigration papers Omar’s late father signed. If true, Mullin said, she’d be stripped of her citizenship and deported—a first for a member of Congress.

The top three House Democratic leaders, in a joint statement, insisted Trump’s raid on Omar was retaliatory and had a political motive.  Omar is an outspoken member of “The Squad,” particularly on foreign affairs in general and the Trump-Israeli war on Palestinians in particular.

The agents’ invasion of Omar’s home “raises serious questions about the continued corrupt weaponization of the federal government against Donald Trump’s adversaries,” said House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, D-N.Y., Whip Katherine Clark,, D-Mass., and Conference Chair Pete Aguilar, D-Calif.

“For years Donald Trump and far-right extremists have relentlessly targeted Congresswoman Omar with vile personal attacks and baseless accusations,” the three posted on social media. “Now, less than 30 days before the midterm election, his violent mass deportation machine has descended upon the home of a duly elected member of Congress and her family.”

“Donald Trump is desperate,” Burnham concluded. “He’s trying to incite violence and sow division a little more than three weeks before Election Day because he knows working people across the country have had enough of high prices, increasingly unaffordable healthcare, and rampant corruption in his administration.

“He tried to divide us this past winter when he brought violence and chaos to our homes” through his Metro Sweep and its massive, violent, vicious migrant roundup, including the killings of Renee Good and Alex Pretti, both U.S. citizen observers. “But Minnesotans stood firm with nonviolent resistance and solidarity with our immigrant neighbors.”

The search of her home so close to an election only weeks away is highly unusual and is almost never something the Department of Justice does. House and Senate Democratic leaders condemned the action as such.

News U.S. Leaves Iraq After 23 Years But Keeps Control of its Oil Money

Thumbnail

By Manfred Ziegler

In Erbil, in the country’s Kurdish north, where the last American soldiers had been stationed, a handover ceremony was held. There, Iraqi Prime Minister Ali al-Zaidi hailed the start of a new chapter, one defined by Iraq’s sovereignty.

Yet the United States still holds Iraq’s fate in its hands—not through its military, but through its control over the country’s oil revenue. Money from Iraq’s oil sales does not flow directly into Iraq. It is paid into banks in New York and must pass through three separate steps and transactions before it reaches recipients in Iraq.

At each of those steps, the U.S. Treasury Department can delay or block the payments, citing “administrative reasons.” Currently, around $2 billion of Iraq’s oil revenue is under direct U.S. administration and control.

The situation has improved over time, as only part of Iraq’s foreign reserves is still held in the United States. But that is enough for Washington to continue dictating Iraqi policy. The best example is the selection of Prime Minister al-Zaidi himself.

The original candidate for the post was former Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki. He had the backing of the largest bloc in Iraq’s parliament, the predominantly Shiite Coordination Framework. Although he was once regarded as Washington’s man, al-Maliki had moved closer to Iran. That drew fierce opposition to his candidacy from President Donald Trump.

If al-Maliki were chosen, Trump warned on his Truth Social platform, Iraq would have “ZERO chance of success, prosperity, or freedom.” Al-Maliki rejected Trump’s threats in a post on X, denouncing what he called “blatant U.S. interference in Iraq’s affairs.” It was no use.

Trump did not stop at threats. For months, the U.S. withheld Iraq’s funds, and the outcome was predictable: Al-Maliki was not elected prime minister.

In his place came al-Zaidi, a millionaire with no prior political profile. He is seen as Trump’s pick, and the two share a line of business: Al-Zaidi made part of his fortune in real estate. And, as if to make the connection unmistakable, the U.S. released Iraq’s funds just in time for al-Zaidi’s visit to Washington.

Iraq’s newly-won limited sovereignty also runs up against hard limits in its relations with Iran. Iran is a major trading partner, with two-way trade totaling $10 billion a year. Perhaps even more important are the religious pilgrimages between the two countries.

Even so, the Iraqi government initially complied with U.S. sanctions on Iran, banning flights to and from the country. That sparked fierce protests and demonstrations, and the government then asked the U.S. Treasury Department for an exemption. Under a waiver initially limited to one month, airlines—with the exception of Iran’s Mahan Air—may now operate flights between Iran and Najaf, a major Shiite pilgrimage site.

Muqtada al-Sadr, the influential cleric, politician, and former militia leader who withdrew from politics years ago, has now welcomed what he called Iraq’s new “independence.” He is calling on his fellow Iraqis to demand compensation from the U.S. military for everything it has done to their country over the past 23 years.
