On the topic of Twitter bans

Hey all,

Many communities are banning links to Twitter (I refuse to call it that other stupid name). We don't really have any Twitter links posted here, so for us there haven't been any noticeable changes or effects from a Twitter ban.

All that said, Elon Musk is a Nazi. I don't use that comparison lightly, here's a comparison of his and Hitler's salutes, they're basically identical. Because he's a stupid fucking Nazi, anything from his platform is not welcome here. Automod will be updated shortly, and anything that gets around automod will be removed manually.

Question How do I go to family court without a lawyer?

My daughter is 9 almost 10 and has had to speak to a caseworker at least 5 times due to her dad. He’s been indicated in abuse/neglect 2 times against her and they’re currently involved again due to him physically fighting a girlfriend in front of her. I’ve called the police, I’ve called dcfs, I’ve gone to court but it cost me over $2000 for one court hearing to pay a lawyer. The dcfs caseworker told me yesterday the only thing they do is take custody from both parents and the child becomes a ward of the state and put in foster care because it’s my responsibility to keep her safe even from him even though we haven’t been together in 8 years. They said they don’t do mandated counseling, parenting classes, or take custody from one parent but not the other. She said I have to take him to court again or I risk losing custody. I can’t afford another lawyer, she said I could go without a lawyer but I don’t even know how to get a court date without one and what likelihood do I have at anything happening. My daughter is so tired of hearing/seeing the fights and having to talk to dcfs. Her father won’t take it serious and says nothing will happen and it’s all the women’s fault not his.

Question Am I overthinking this, or could my daycare be documenting concerns to report me to CPS?

I’m (22f) a single mother to a 14-month-old, and I’m looking for honest outside perspectives because I’m worried that I may be overthinking a situation involving my son’s daycare.

My son has attended this daycare since August. I work full-time and pay $385 per month in tuition, plus a $350 enrollment fee. (This is not a super-cheap price in my area, it wasn’t the cheapest but the one with best reputation) I do my best to make sure he has everything he needs.

The daycare provides lunch, but I also pack three snacks each day, such as chopped fruits and vegetables, healthy homemade snacks, organic or sugar-free juice, water, and three bottles of milk. I also send extra hygiene/ personal care supplies when they request them, including creams, first aid items, or items that were not included on the original supply list.

Lately, I feel as though the staff frequently have concerns about something or ask me to bring additional supplies. For example, they told me my son needed diaper rash cream, even though I had already brought a container the previous month that I know they hadn’t been using. After I showed them a picture of the product, they realized that he actually had two new containers at the daycare. They also asked me to bring a bedding cover, even though I had previously sent one that they removed from his bag because they told me it was not needed.

They have also raised concerns about his persistent cough. He had COVID in August, and the cough has continued since then. I have taken him to his pediatrician multiple times and have regularly brought up my concerns, but the doctor keeps prescribing the same cough syrup. My son currently has no fever or obvious congestion, although the cough has not completely gone away. The daycare is now telling me that I need another doctor’s clearance before he can return.

Today, when I picked him up, a staff member told me they were concerned because they had noticed a mark on his forehead that looked like a wound. She showed me the mark and told me that it was important for me to inform the daycare about injuries or anything else that could explain a mark they notice on him.

A few nights ago, my son hit his head against the wooden crib at home. I checked him immediately and did not notice anything concerning at the time. The next day, I noticed a small mark on his forehead, but I forgot to mention the incident to the daycare. His hair usually covers that area, and I simply forgot during the morning rush.

When the staff member brought it up today, I explained exactly what had happened. I understand why the daycare needs to know about injuries, and I acknowledge that I should have told them. However, her tone was much more serious and strict than usual. That made me feel as though she was treating the situation as something more serious than a normal childhood accident.

Today’s conversation also included the concerns about his cough, the diaper rash cream, the bedding cover, and his feeding and supplies. Because all of these issues were discussed together, I felt as though I was being bombarded with complaints. I started wondering whether the daycare is documenting these things because they suspect neglect or are considering reporting me to CPS.

For context, my home is clean, although it is a small apartment, owned, not rented. My son has his own crib, clean bedding, toys, and a designated play area. We have plenty of food, I bathe him every night, and I make sure he has meals and snacks for daycare. I take him to his pediatrician when needed and try to follow medical advice. I also have a large, trained dog, but I always supervise my son’s interactions with him.

I’m not claiming to be a perfect mother. I work full-time, I’m often rushing in the mornings, and I occasionally forget things. However, I genuinely try to take care of my son and provide for him. The mark on his forehead was from an accidental injury at home, and I did not intentionally withhold that information from the daycare; I simply forgot to mention it.

I’m in Puerto Rico, so I’m especially interested in hearing from anyone familiar with how child protective services works there, as well as daycare workers or parents who have dealt with similar situations.

My questions are:

Could a daycare worker report a parent based on concerns like these?

Would a report automatically lead to a home visit or investigation?

Does forgetting to report a minor accidental head injury make a significant difference?

Is the daycare staff member’s serious tone likely just part of their responsibility, or could it indicate that they are documenting concerns about me?

Am I reading too much into the situation, or are there legitimate reasons for me to be concerned?

I’m not looking for people to tell me that I’m a perfect mother. I want honest, realistic perspectives on what might happen and whether I’m interpreting today’s events incorrectly. They had never spoken to me like they did today, and had always been nice and respectful about everything prior to today.

CPS "ruled out" sexual abuse even after perpetrator admitted to it

My frustration is basically that. In August, I found out my adoptive 12 (almost 13) year old son had been molesting my then 3 year old daughter. He admitted this to my husband (his bio dad) and I. He also admitted to harming my daughter and infant son, who was 3 months old at the time. The abuse included hitting the baby in the head, and pouring bleach on objects like bath rags in hopes it would burn his skin when I bathed him. He also admitted to getting cleaning chemicals, and purposely putting them on baby toys in hopes that the baby would ingest some and get sick when he put toys in his mouth. He also physically harmed his sister beyond the sexual encounters and terrorized her about things crawling out of vents to "tear her skin open and eat her" in the night. It was so bad that after he was placed in psychiatric care, the psychiatrist was worried about him ever having access to the fridge where I stored breastmilk for the baby.

My frustration is this; I received the CPS investigation findings via letter in the mail, and they "ruled out" all sexual and physical abuse by the perpetrator. On one hand, I am grateful because it has allowed us to keep my adoptive son in psychiatric care instead of just throwing him in juvie and not getting him help, but I cannot help but be baffled that they could conclude this, even with him detailing all of this to our case investigator. How is this possible? Is this even legal? It makes me wonder how many other cases of abuse have been swept under the rug. The caseworker guilt tripped us and the psychiatric staff that it sounded like we wanted to ruin my son's life and throw him away. He has been very uncooperative with all staff in facilities trying to help my son, and downright rude and threatening at times. I am just baffled that the protection is going to the perpetrator, and needed to rant about my mixed emotions.

Is this uncommon? Should I reach out to a supervisor? Or, should I just be grateful the state is staying out of it and we can get my adoptive son, who came from a troubled home, help that is not juvie or a group home?

Question Should I be scared?

So essentially I talked to my therapist today describing my family situation, a case worker showed up hours later. I knew she would have to report it and I also had to assume police also had a legal obligation to report it when it happened.

The incident she reported was from several days ago. My sons father punched a hole in the wall, and then as a bluff took a handful of pills before immediately spitting them out. Within seconds I was on the phone with 911 trying to get him psychiatric care immediately. We were having a disagreement and he just lost it. This incident happened out of our child's presence.

He told me over the phone from the hospital that he would be out in 3 days, well not even 2 days in he's discharged. At that point I intended to have help moving my things out that same day into storage and then myself and my son either in the aware shelter or with a friend.

My stay with him was already supposed to be temporary, we broke up about 6 months ago following a series of incidents where he was leaving for a 1-2 days at a time to drink and he also would cheat on me. But the house I was renting was sold, I had to move out, I was a stay at home mom up until 2 weeks ago when I resumed working. I had no income to verify as child support amount hasn't been determined yet and I had only just resumed working partime. So I've been at his apartment hoping I could continue to work partime and also wait for our child support hearing to determine my income when I Put in apartment application. Ive been here only a week.

My therapist promised me that she would ask that the case worker just call as I was afraid he would be agitated if he thought I contributed to the report, thats not what happened. She shows up, questions me in the other room where I dont know if he can hear me or not. I told her I have a friend's house I can stay at, I have a bag in my car for us to go and that I've made contact with multiple shelters.

I even had asked her if it is realistic for me to even be here, I know its not but in that moment I'm panicked that she doesn't think I'm being protective with me being here. Tomorrow I tend to apply at several low income apartments. I told her I'm monitoring him heavily and I will walk away or let him walk away if the situation even becomes slightly uncomfortable. I have a feeling thats not enough. I plan to stay with a friend starting tomorrow while he adjusts to new meds. He is complying with behavioral health.

He was sent home with a decent plan of care. Meds, therapy, coping skills. I told her he will not be watching our son at all. She gave him a protection plan as well. Our son did have a bruise on his forehead she had to document as well, we went to the Dr's hours later and the Dr deemed it typical of toddler play injuries for his age.

Tomorrow I will let her know of my plans to stay with a friend and he consented to me handing over his hospital documentation as well. She wanted to hear from my therapist as well but I would prefer she give a statement as opposed to the raw clinical notes. I do believe I'm competent and a good mother but post partom depression is present.

How worried should I be for how this will go if it becomes an open case ???( which it likely will)

Im in the state of Michigan.

Question Gonna lose my mind

My baby’s father abused her two times, once when she was two weeks and another when she was six weeks. 14 broken bones, and a brain bleed. I was asleep in bed the first time absolutely exhausted, postpartum. The second time I was at work. Anyways, she was taken from me after the second incident caused her to have a seizure. She is now six months. I got her back about a month and a half after they first initially took her and did their investigation. She is on trial home placement with me. Her father sees her an hour a week. He was just finally served papers last week stating that he has been charged with aggravated child abuse, which is a felony. Four months later. Still not in jail. Yesterday, the lady from DFS came over and told me she would like to move to six hours a week unsupervised for her Dad. I don’t think that four months is enough time to work out whatever caused him to harm our child so badly that he almost killed her. I am so upset. Is there anything I can do to prevent this from happening? I hired an attorney for custody, but it is taking forever on both sides. That will not happen fast enough before they do this new visitation schedule. Please help

Edit: my child did not have a single bruise on her body. I had no idea that she had been harmed by him. He treated me very well and had no signs of abusive behavior. We live in a rural area and due to a lack of good healthcare for infants, they diagnosed her with cerebral palsy, and the fractures were missed on scans for multiple weeks before the second incident happened.

Is it normal to be asked to come into the office for an interview?

Last weekend my teenage sons called me and said that their mom and her boyfriend were fighting. I went over and picked them up. Apparently someone called the police and there was an arrest for assault. They are raising their grandchild in the house as well. CPS called me and asked me to come into the office for an interview. Is this normal? Even though I wasn't involved in the situation

Question Question for CPS workers

Hello, I know nobody can definitively answer this question for me, but if anyone who works for CPS/DCFS and could share their thoughts on this, I would be very appreciative.

I have a family member who struggles with agoraphobia. It’s gotten progressively worse as we’ve gotten older and at this point we have not spoken or seen each other in 3 years. She is very paranoid, has stopped driving and will not leave or allow anyone into her house. Other than her mother, our family has not seen or spoken to her in years.

Before this, she and I were close. I introduced her to an acquaintance of my wife and they eventually got married and had a daughter. By the time their daughter was born, my family member had already cut off contact with all family/friends, quit their job, and wasn’t leaving their house.

When their daughter was 8 weeks old, her husband texted my spouse and admitted that DCFS in CT had placed the infant in foster care. He said that there had been a series of broken bones that a local hospital discovered, and both him and my family member were deemed unsafe.

Here are the facts that I know from court documents found online:
- they took their 8 week old daughter to the ER for a broken bone and the husband was arrested at the hospital that night and held on a $35k bail
- neither him nor my family member were allowed to leave the hospital with their daughter and she was placed into foster care.
- he was charged and pled guilty to 2 felonies and a misdemeanor relating to assault/reckless endangerment/risk of injury to a child.
- he was incarcerated for a year and is on probation for the next 5.
- there is an order of protection between him and their daughter until she is 18 years old. He can have no contact unless she chooses to reconnect with him as an adult.
- My family member was also arrested and found guilty of risk of injury to a child. She served no jail time but did lose custody of her daughter for 2 years. I am not certain if she ever regained full custody, but she is currently living with the child, along with the kinship placement family member the child was originally placed with for those 2 years.
- in the husband’s court documents, a judge handing him his sentence does not detail the abuse, but describes it as “highly disturbing.”

What her husband said happened:
- their daughter “accidentally fell” at 8 weeks old and shattered her leg.
- at the hospital they found various older broken bones, including multiple fractured ribs and a broken arm.
- the daughter was kept in foster care for 2 months starting at 8 weeks old because they “didn’t trust” the kinship placement.

And that is all I know. I’ve been reading this sub a lot trying to wrap my head around all this. I definitely feel extreme guilt that I was the one who introduced them, which is probably motivating me to seek clarity. We obviously cut off all ties with the husband and as stated my family member hasn’t been in contact with us for years, so with all this information coming to light we’re just floundering around.

All I see in this sub are posts about how common and encouraged reunification is. Even with drug use and physical abuse, it seems like reunification is almost always the goal, so…something more had to happen to that baby for the punishment to be so extreme, right?? Could a person really be held on such a high bail, serve jail time, and receive an 18 year order of protection for broken bones? And listen, I think that punishment absolutely fits the crime!! But it seems so different than every other case I read about here where many attempts are made to reunify. I know no one here can answer this about this specific case, but is it possible for this kind of outcome “just” from broken bones? Or would something much worse had to have happened that we’ll likely never know?

Thank you so much for reading.

Question Should I make a report?

My sister is separated from her husband and getting a divorce because she was arrested and charged with domestic violence. She and her 4 year old daughter have gone to live with our parents. My sister in the past accused our dad of raping her as a child. She has also accused her soon to be ex of sexually abusing her (my sister). These are accusations, there have never been charges filed or made. It makes me so uneasy though. I don’t know what to do.

Question What is going to happen when CPS investigates us?

I have plans to report my mother to CPS. She has been neglectful and abusive for years, and she is currently leaving me alone to babysit a disabled child at 17. I am aware that there is no risk of foster care for me and my brothers because we have extended family we can contact. I have been told that my case will definitely hold some ground considering I have evidence of the neglect and physical abuse, and I have some personal anecdotes of mental abuse. I'm just wondering what will happen when this gets investigated. I don't know if we are considered to be in immediate danger or not? I live in Texas.

Here's some more details. I'll just include anything they could possibly find.
-Our washing machine is broken and actively growing mold.
-There are three of us, and our mother is only really home at night. I am in charge of literally everything else, and I honestly feel like a 1970's housewife.
-There have been times where she has thrown things (I have the object that was thrown at me) and grabbed my brothers by the neck and thrown them.
-She screams constantly. I am very confident she has narcissistic personality disorder, and has said multiple times that she is perfect, and she's only hard on us because she wants us to be perfect as well.
-All of our fathers live across the country, and we only have one family member who is in the state.
-We don't have a lot of food. I am constantly having to make "Random things in the fridge" soup, and my nonverbal autistic brother doesn't eat it, so the only thing he can really eat is snacks.
-We have a lot of bugs and mice, but we live in the country, so it isn't too unreasonable.

I am aware that my situation is bad, but is it bad enough for all of us to be legally removed and sent to other family members? That's honestly what I'm hoping for.

Warning: sa and child abuse mention

I’ll try to be short. I have a person who’s sort of a friend of a friend, and I don’t hang out with her outside of these big group events. but every group event she finds me in my dark corner and tells me about how awful her life has been up to now, and how awful it’s going.

I don’t mind this, but she talks openly about how she was sexually abused and how she was forced into drugs as a child. she’s now a sober adult with 3 little, and unfortunately she’s on and off with this guy who does drugs, and that got her kids taken away once before. He says he’s off now, and she confirms it, but when she doesn’t mean to she slips and its obvious he’s borderline with sobriety.

at the most recent party, we were all a little drunk and she told me about one of the times she was assaulted as a kid. she said it was by her uncle. I felt awful, I asked if she reported him. she hadn’t and wasn’t sure if she would because she just wanted to leave all that in the past. But she mentioned that she was scared for his daughter. I just felt sick. I suggested she report or try to talk to the daughter, even if she didn’t report him at least checking on this 12 year old. She just said that her and the daughter haven’t gotten along for a long time.

I couldn’t sleep so I reported the man, I found him without much effort and I reported him and they asked me so many questions I started realizing that with her history of issues with her ex and cps, this could really put her in a bad spot. i wanted to help the girl at risk, and I felt like I did the right thing doing that but now I’m just worried that this friend might lose custody of her kid. I asked one of my other friends and he says if she won’t protect a kid because it’s uncomfortable she shouldn’t have one. Not only that but if They found anything involving drugs at her place or with her partner it’s probably because they are doing drugs, and in that case shouldn’t have custody Of their kid.

I am worried. I have seen when people have been abused and when no one fought for them So I felt like I needed to do that. But now I’m worried it wasn’t my place and I shouldn’t have done that without more information.

tldr: I went Behind A friends back and called CPS on her sexual abuser because she said he might abuse his kid. Now I’m worried that she may get caught in the crossfire because she’s had previous run ins with CPS

My sister was living in oregon and had open cps case when she met a wanted dangerous drug addicted felon and they took her blind 18 yr old , 10 year old son and 9 year old daughter on the run for 6 months living in hotels . Last week we get a call from cops saying that my sister and her bf and kids were in a tennesse Walmart parking lot where they had been parked living in vehicle for 3 days along w 3 dogs. The 18 year old broke away called 911 reported drugs and violence and so cops find them and my sister allows them to search vehicle. Inside they find Kratom pills, meth, liquid methadone and Marijuana. The kids cry because they want to sleep in a bed and said they only had candy to eat which my sister confirmed...candy... in the morning. It was almost 8 pm at night. My sister was acting eratic and told cps they all live in car. Kids have not been to school or registered for school since early 2026 in oregon but had so many absence that cps has case in oregon. So police then drug test everyone and my sister and her 9 year old test positive for meth and they had to naracan my niece. My nephew age 10 tested positive for kratom. The bf methadone. The 18 year old told police the bf was violent and he feared for his life. My sister and bf are arrested and the kids went to foster care and the 18 yr old is back in oregon w family. They charged my sister w child abuse with 35k bond and a contributing to delinquency of a minor....which they added 6k bail. My family is devestated. Any ideas of how bad this is and if she will ever get kids back?

No Followup

I called on someone 09/30. I recieved a follow up call regarding more info before visiting the apartment. 10/02 I get a call from I guess a field worker saying they were threatened by an aggressive man saying he had a gun…now the call was about a girl child already being left with the mother’s bf, potentially not being enrolled in school that started in August and the bf being aggressive in the realm of DV. I received no follow up about the gun and safety of the child that weekend so I called on Monday about the field guy telling me about a gun. 10/5 the field guy calls and very nastily is like, “I’m not obligated to update you with my case findings.” and I’m like “I just called to make sure you the work and the child were not harmed…you left me with a cliffhanger after mentioning a gun.” Field guy repeats the not obligated spiel and I tell him don’t worry I’ll never contact you regarding anything. But where do I go about following up on the continuous neglect of the child?

Question Does the family find out if a school reported them to CPS

My friend is telling me to tell my guidance counselor but I keep finding so many sources contradicting each other. Like one source says they are notified at some point that it was the school and others say they aren't.

If it helps I live in California and the person I would be reporting to is a high school counselor.

Question Is there a way to have myself listed as an "interested party" for a child?

I use the phrase "interested party" because I don't know what else to say.

My brother and his girlfriend are expecting a baby soon. Due to various circumstances on both their sides, I'm very worried this baby is going to end up being taken into care. Is there a way for me to be "on call" in case this happens so she could stay with family? They're in Washington, I am not.

Cps drug screen

Cps drug screen

Cps showed up at my door stating that they had an anonymous call stating I was abusing drugs on a daily basis and neglecting my child. I have in the past (more than 10 years ago) had a case with cps for substance abuse. I have been living my best life since I got clean and sober. But the trauma of everything from that horrible time has come back to me. I do not trust CPS I know how much they lie to fit their narrative and I know that it is essentially just a business ( a legal way to kidnap children) They are requesting that I and my 9 year old come into their office and give a drug screen. They will not accept one performed at my local doctor's office. I do not want to have to subject my child to a test that will open up old wounds and establish a fear in him. I have apprehensions against giving them a drug screen myself not because I have something to hide but I fear false positives based on the fact that i daily take wellbutrin, effexor, and sudafed for my horrible allergies. Any advice?

Support Help

I had to cut my parents out of my life. They were abusive towards me in multiple ways since childhood. I dated, got married, and as soon as I did, they started mentally abusing my husband for having multiple disabilities, health problems, and they had a problem with him getting assistance from the state and being found disabled by the state. I got pregnant and had a son. After he was born we cut ties with my parents. Over the phone my mom told us that she doesn't care about the law and she will not stop until my son is home with them. We called the police and they advised us to get a protective order so we did. Then about a month later, CPS calls and says they are on their way to our house. They said they got a report and they are 40 minutes away and told us we have no choice but to let her in our home. I offered to talk about it either over the phone or meet somewhere and she said no, she's coming into our home to see our child. Under duress we let her in. I asked what the accusations were and she stated that he had a flat spot on his head, he just lays around all day, is malnourished, doesn't go to doctor appointments, and is underweight. He was born vaginally, he was late, and came out with a flat spot due to being a big baby. I was struggling to produce breast milk and we had to transition him to formula which made him constipated. We called the doctor and they told us to give him prune juice. We did and it helped. He eventually was doing well taking formula and he gained weight beyond normal and the doctor said they prefer a chunky baby. The CPS worker told us she saw his medical records and confirmed that what we said was true and that he has been going to his routine doctor visits. She said that it doesn't matter though and we have no choice but to let her in because a report was made. We told CPS that this is ridiculous because his head shape was a birth defect and my husband has digestive issues as part of his disabilities. She told us that she would close out the case and she left. It's been months and we have heard nothing or gotten anything in the mail saying it was closed. We recently went to our son's 9 month appointment. Every appointment he has, we ask what goals do we need to meet by the next appointment. We were told by the 9 month appointment that he needs to be sitting up on his own, crawling, and feeding him baby food along with formula. All of that has been done well before this appointment. We recently had his 9 month appointment and when we first go in the nurse comes in and has us strip him down to his diaper and then naked and she measured him and weighed him. Our son hates being cold or messed with so as soon as we stripped him down he started screaming nonstop until he was red. After he was weighed, the nurse told us he needed to stay just in his diaper so my husband wrapped him in a blanket and held him. A new doctor comes in, introduces herself, and our son went into stranger danger mode. He was placed on the cold table and was screaming and trying to curl up into a ball. The doctor examined him and asked if he has been trying to stand up on his own. We told her that he has been crawling and sitting up on his own and that was what we were told at his last appointment would be the milestone for this appointment. We also told her that we thought he didn't need to be walking until he was a year old. She tried to get him to try standing up by holding him and getting him to put weight on his legs. He wouldnt and kept scrunching up his legs and crying so she said that he's not behind but she wants to make sure he doesn't end up being behind. She suggested that we have a social worker come into our home and give him physical therapy so that he will be able to walk. Again our son doesn't like strangers or being cold so he didn't want to do it for her because he was scared. She also said she was concerned about his hip. She was rotating his legs to checking for motion and flexibility and was like oh he's good. We told her we didnt want anyone coming into our home because of what happened with CPS. She then said are you willing to take him somewhere then. We said sure and she said she would write a prescription for physical therapy but they might not even take him because he is too young or not behind yet. She repeated herself and said she wants to make sure he doesn't end up being behind. Another thing is when she was checking his ears and examining him she was shaking the entire time like she was nervous or something which we thought was very odd. She was even struggling to be steady when she was checking his eyes and ears. We are worried that there is still an active case against us because we haven't been notified about it being closed and it seems like they have an agenda. This whole past doctor visit was really weird. We are below the poverty line and we need help getting legal representation. Our son is well loved and cared for. Please help us.

Support I think I accidentally got CPS called on my family

I went to student counseling services to get therapy about so ongoing personal issues. They had me fill out a questionnaire and I marked the box for abuse. During the screening session, the therapist asked me about the abuse and I told them that my dad abused my mom and that my 9 year old sister was living with them. But I also said that she was never the target of abuse and that my dad had never hit any of us. I also mentioned that the abuse was ongoing. It should’ve been obvious that they would have to make a report, but in the emotional state I was in, I didn’t think about it. I thought it would be okay since I’m not living with my parents and I’m an adult and my little sister isn’t in any actual danger. But since she is still a witness and a minor, they had to report to CPS. So my therapist (she’s an intern) contacted her supervisor and they questioned me a bit more before they could make the report. I’m freaking out and I don’t know what to do. My mom is freaking out even more. I didn’t mean to cause a report. I’m scared that my sister will get taken away. My little sister isn’t in any actual harm. I don’t think it’s good for things in my family to change so drastically because it will be bad for my sister and scare her. I’m scared of what my mom will do out of fear and what my dad will do if he finds out I was the cause of the report. The mandated report was anonymous, but I feel like eventually they’ll find out it was me. My little sister is happy right now and my family isn’t always bad. And I think my family was starting to get better. I’m worried I’ve made things worse for them. I’m mostly concerned about my sister. Will law enforcement get contacted? Will my dad go to jail? And selfishly…I’m worried because I’m in college and I still rely on my family for financial support, as does my older sister. I’m worried about what will happen to our goals and dreams for the future. I’m worried that my relationship with my family will become even more broken than it already is. Despite the abuse I still had a decent relationship with my parents and I still felt love from them and I had them care about me. Now I have no idea what I’ve done and what to do….

Can someone please answer my questions. Maybe lend some advice as to what to do or what will most likely happen?

5th time

I have 3 children. Their father has a child prior to our relationship. The mother of his other child has repeatedly called cps on me due to the father and their private drama. Him cheating, lying, that sort of thing. I don’t have anything to do with him anymore. However this woman will not leave me be. She has called cps 5 times now on me reporting drug use. I have always been so compliant with the case workers and always test negative. I’m getting to the point where I’m really pissed now. I don’t want to comply with them. I don’t want them in my home. I don’t want to do any of this. I allowed her to see my children because another claim was I let my toddlers beat their baby sister (🙄) and showed her my house. I have another appointment Friday and she wants to drug test me. This will be the FIFTH time and Im so done with it. I don’t want to cooperate anymore. I want them to leave me and my kids alone. Is there anything I can do about this? Refuse the test? Refuse her coming to my home? I’m really just over all this drama their father and his other bm bring my kids and my way.

What can I even do?

Bonjour y'all, I'm a high schooler (in America unfortunately) and my boyfriend is having issues at home involving his mother. Father is absent and it's just him and his mom. On top of general narcissistic behavior and contradictions + the hypocritical nature of her; she's done several other things. But what can I do to support him? We're not adults (yet) so a lot of it is out of our control it feels. My bf has said CPS & 911 have been called several times but haven't done anything. Is there anything I can do to help? I hate feeling useless knowing the situation he's in. I'm currently trying to get a job but otherwise it feels like I'm completely useless.

If anyone has any advice/tips it would be much appreciated.

Merci.

Do they look in your bedroom?

DCS is doing a walk through soon and our house is clean, other than mine and my husbands bedroom being a little messy. Our children have their own room and I was wondering if they'll even look in our bedroom since our children don't sleep in there anymore. We live in Indiana if that helps.

Rant Stepson removed

My stepson whom is under 10 molested my child and I got cps involved because no one else thought they should. Without giving too much details I’ll only say, my stepson knew what he was doing, did it anyways and tried to conceal it. Not until my child disclosed what happened did he finally admitted to touching my child. Smh. My husband spoke to BM and she acted as if her precious son could do no wrongs while my child is sitting here sorting out trauma in therapy. This was truly my last straw with my husbands son as his behavior has veen questionable since day 1. For those who are going to ask “ what has he been exposed to” I have no clue. I’ve never also begged CPS to intrude onto my life like i have had to do when this happened. BM refused to put SS in therapy and somehow shifted blame onto me and my child and now onto my husband for “choosing” cps came and did their assessment and agreed with my stance that i don’t want ss in my home near my other children or near me. I also stated i will not be a caretaker or supervisor of ss or help facilitate any reintegration I’m protective and that’s up to my husband and SS to be protective on their end. BM is calling threatening me because her son sexually molested my young child and all that has been decided is that my husbands parenting time will be far away from me and our other children.

Should I call CPS even if I'm not sure my ex is doing drugs? An unreliable friend of his messaged me saying he is. (Crosspost)

Cross posting to get professional opinions here.

Not using my main account for obvious reasons.

So here's the issue; I'm not sure he is using, I actually really don't think so. Also, his friend that told me is not a super reliable person and likes to cause issues (I used to work with him and my ex, that friend of his loves to create drama for anyone/everyone), so there's a big chance it's not true.

I can't just ask my ex. If he is doing it, he would lie. We also have a terrible relationship. It is ONLY healthy now because I don't let him talk to me in any way other than as if we are conducting business. We talk only for administrative co-parenting stuff, if he even suggests bringing up his feelings about anything, I have to disengage and don't allow it. We end up arguing otherwise; not just one person's fault, we just have never been able to find a way to talk to each other healthily, and we have been broken up since I was pregnant. It's always an argument.

We've lived in peace for months because of this method, and it's great.

He's also a good dad...

But he did have a previous cocaine and meth addiction from 19 years old - 20 years old, he's in his 30s now. Sober since. The friend claimed my ex and his girlfriend are doing molly for a rave. This was days ago, and tbh I didn't believe it at all because that guy does lie and has some personality disorder or something (he's that severely off).

But today, when picking our daughter up, my ex asked to switch Halloween trick or treating for him to have the morning instead. We had agreed I would get the morning (gonna do mall trick or treating), and he would get the night, then he would keep her so she isn't being driven at night with drunk drivers out.

He asked to switch me because he has tickets for a concert that night... Sigh, not in a big state, so I googled what concerts there are that night, and there's literally just a rave.

I'm in-between denial that it's real, and also pissed off it might be and that I'm having to deal with this. He can't be stupid enough to do a drug that's often laced with meth, having had a serious meth addiction right?

And no, he won't have our daughter when he will supposedly be using, but if he starts up on drugs, I don't want to wait for my daughter to be hurt to do something about it. She's just a toddler; completely dependent on her environment and caregivers being safe.

I don't think he's using rn, but I do sort of think he plans to. But I have no way to know.

It'll cause HUGE issues if I call CPS and hes not using. I'm not trying to cause my daughter instability without proof. But I don't actually have a way to get proof.

Also, I have bipolar; medicated and stable since December 2025; but I had a major depression episode August 2025, before I was medicated. I didn't try to off myself, but still. I know I'll be signing up for CPS presence and likely a safety plan if I call. Which is Ok, I'll release my medical records the same day and do what they want; I'm completely medication and treatment compliant. But the fact this will be a HUGE thing, and I have no proof, is why I don't know if I'm doing the right thing by calling. Is it actually bad for my little girl if I call?

Is the right thing to call, even if I really think he's not actually going to do drugs?

Please help me, because this is huge, and I'm not sure how to proceed.
