12th Gen (18-present) Quick Question
Ok so I don’t have a picture as of right now, but whenever I lock the car it tells me to check the rear seat. There’s nothing there. Does anyone know why it says that?

I have 2016 Corolla, was looking to my right when I looked back not in time to break and hit some Nissan rogue going 15-20 mph. There was small dent on her suv, but my front end crumpled a bit. The radiator is pushed in towards the engine, still drives, and no dashboard lights came on.

I'm a little conflicted about whether I want to end up installing it or not. I don't know how much it would affect the visibility especially of road signs on highways / exits, etc. And I really don't like the idea of sticking some stuff onto the windshield on a brand new car and adding wiring all around or moving the rubber around to hide it.
I think the main value add for me would be having parking monitoring or alerting. And secondary value add would be actual driving footage in case of insurance, etc.
Trying to get your thoughts on what made you folks go with installing dashcams or deciding you are okay without it

so i installed a new aftermarket cv axle, checked the c clip all good, shoved it in and felt like it was in snug. it wasnt. started car and trans fluid poured out of the driver side input shaft....guessing i did not seat the axle snug enough. do you all recommend slightly and carefully hammering the output shaft side in to get the input shaft side to seat properly against the axle seal? I was told to get the axle out and straight, make sure there is no play (so push in axle) and give it some light taps with a hammer to seat the axle. does that sound right?

I the coolant valve on my 2019 se hatchback but I broke both clips on top and bottom tube while removing
They were so brittle from coolant leaking on to them
I’ve looked at the schematics but no part number for these and it seems I would need to buy replacement tube assemblies on top and bottom
So ultimately I am seeing if anyone has a source for this clip online anywhere so I can get new ones

I have a new 2026 Toyota Corolla, the base model, with about 1200 miles on it now, is it normal for this car to hesitate and a slight jerk from a dead stop all the way up to about 30 miles an hour it feels like when I give it gas taking off from a light, it just hesitates with a slight jerk all the way up until I am past 30 miles an hour I’m curious if anybody else deals with this. I know it’s the type of transmission that is in these cars, but I was hoping that it was only around the 7 MPH Mark that it would jerk and hesitate, not all the way up to around 30 MPH I try to baby it, but it seems like if I baby it, taking off that it makes it worse all the way up until it gets past 30

I’ve always bought used cars, so buying a brand-new car is a pretty big deal for me.
After weeks of researching and test-driving different Toyotas, I finally decided on a 2027 Corolla Hybrid XLE FWD in Wind Chill Pearl. I paid around $31K out the door, including taxes and fees.
And the thing is, I actually love the car. It’s beautiful to me, drives incredibly smoothly, feels comfortable, and is exactly the kind of car I’ve always enjoyed driving.
But for some reason, instead of just being excited, I’m feeling a little guilty. Almost like I don’t deserve a brand-new car, or like I should have bought something cheaper or used, as I’ve always done.
I also keep second-guessing whether I should have bought a Corolla Cross Hybrid instead. I recently moved to Idaho, and I like the idea of sitting higher, having more ground clearance, and occasionally taking trips to the mountains or lakes. I even like the idea of sleeping in my car for a night or two on a road trip.
I rented a gas Corolla Cross for a while and really liked the seating height, but I wasn’t crazy about how bouncy it felt. I haven’t driven the hybrid version, though.
The Corolla sedan felt so smooth and natural to drive, which is ultimately why I chose it. I also love the fuel economy and how easy it is to park.
I guess I’m wondering:
- Is around $31K OTD reasonable for a new Corolla Hybrid XLE?
- Should I be worried about resale value or choosing a sedan instead of a crossover?
Has anyone else felt guilty or anxious after buying their first new car, even when they genuinely loved it?
I’m not trying to show off or complain. I’ve worked hard, I’m careful with money, and this is just a much bigger purchase than I’m used to.
Part of me thinks I should stop overthinking and enjoy the car. I’d really appreciate hearing from anyone who’s been in a similar situation.

Just picked up these OEM Enkei’s off a guy from marketplace for $450. Came with OEM tires, TPMS sensors, lugs, and wheel locks. Gonna transfer my goodyear comfortdrives and TPMS from my steelies to them. He put 15k miles on them and replaced them with aftermarket 18in wheels, they’re damn near mint condition. Ive been wanting to get rid of my steelies and hubcaps for a while and had to jump on this. Will practically have paid a couple hundred dollars for new rims after installation and selling everything. Wheels are 205/55r16. How much should i list the steelies/lugs, hubcaps, TPMS sensors, and tires for?

Hey guys, i’ve been searching up and down scouring the internet to find an sr grill for my e11 facelift, it’s my first car and i’ve just completed fallen in love with it and i want to take good care of it, mechanically i’ve fixed the upstream O2 sensors and some other rusted bits on the underside, i also changed out some suspension parts as im going to lower it on coils and i want everything to be secure and well placed! I also did the common 1zz engine parts swaps, I’ve also added some controversial tire decals ( i personally really like them!) but now i want to focus on its bodywork, the standard grill is bugging me a lot and i was wondering if there are any going around? Also any other advice or opinions will be greatly appreciated!

I’ve got the car for over 7 years now and it’s being driven around 30 000km every year with service being done every +- 12 500km. I work in a shop and do all maintenance myself. Just replaced the valve cover gasket for the first time because it was starting to look greasy to one side of the cover.
Things that went wrong:
- clutch bearing 2 years ago. One evening to replace clutch assembly
- ac condensor was leaking, replaced with Nissens one
- radio kept freezing, didn’t want to deal with it and put in a cheap CarPlay radio
Good car to be honest.

Looking at two 2026 corolla LE's - one in celestite which I don't find to be very pretty, and one in underground which I like a little better. I've heard that newer corollas have a lot of trouble with chipping and peeling paint. Is one of these colors more durable than the other? I'm specifically asking about durability, not which one will "hide damage better." I assume any scratches or peeling will be more obvious with the darker color, but I'm curious if one is more durable in the first place.
Also, has anyone paid to have the ceramic coating and did you think it was worth it/did it help with this issue?
Thanks!

Hey everyone, in the middle of a big car project. Just rebuilt my A245E transmission and I knew I had a bad cv boot before I rebuilt it, however there have been 0 NOTICEABLE symptoms of failure even with the boot torn and grease periodically leaking out. No vibrations, no clicking while driving, shuddering, etc.
This is my inner end of the axle, is there too much movement for this to be regreased and booted or is this an acceptable amount of play? I know this isn’t something to cheap out on, regardless I plan on getting new (as close to new OEM) axles eventually just because I want to. But is this okay to regrease/reboot for now?
And not sure if it matters, but they are the original axles and have 230,000 miles on them. The grease on the inside was still packed pretty full and there wasn’t any dirt or gritty bits inside when I cut the old boot off.
Again, not trying to cheap out but just curious if this will be fine.
