You are transported into Andronikos III’s body at the start of his reign. What decisions do you make to try and help the empire survive (or simply survive longer)
You’ll have all of Andronikos’ knowledge and memories as well as your own (you’ll be able to speak greek, you’ll know how to speak to everyone at court etc)
Andronikos III lives to 60 instead of 44 (to spice up the scenario a bit)

And if the Eastern Roman Empire had managed to survive, reconquer territory, and expel the Turks, and in 2026 it had these borders and was a competent dictatorship, what would its geopolitics be? Or would its weight in the world be nil, geopolitically speaking, due to its geographical location?

And if the Eastern Roman Empire had survived with these borders, what would its geopolitics have been?
What would their geopolitics be in the world, in each sector: Africa, the Indo-Pacific, everywhere?

Did Russian principalities every tried to form an alliance with Austria and the Holy Roman Empiree during the Middle Ages?
Russia and Austria were strong allies from the the end of the XVII century to the Crimean War: the first alliance dates back to 1489/1490.
But have Russians ever tried to form an alliance or to establish friendly contacts with the Holy Roman Emperor in the previous decades/centuries?

If Manzikert doesn't happen, How would Romans would have dealt with Seljuks who they have now very big border with and will most likely start chipping away border towns?

What would the major Byzantine Cities look like today if the Greek Core of Byzantium never fell and remained (reasonably: think North-Central Italy or Habsburg Austria) prosperous?
Would Constantinople fit in Among the great European capitals, such as London, Paris, Rome, Madrid? Would the cities have rennaisance style older cores or would they be scarred by rapid industrialisation like modern Greece and Turkey? What regional variations would be present?

Can Komenians retake Anatolia from Seljuks if they can field armies of around 80k or they run into same issues?

What would have happened if the Fourth Crusade had been directed against the Seljuks (the map shows the future situation of Byzantium, the Seljuks, and, to some extent, Russia)?
