I bought a new Brother laser printer for home use 14 years ago for $102. it's performed flawlessly all this time.

Brother is seen as the "Unix philosophy" (do one job well) of printers.
I had a good experience with a black and white duplex laser printer

I just looked it up, and our HL-L2340D is around 12 years old. Works flawlessly.

Looks like the next gen to my Brother HL-2270DW. I was a HP guy for years. (I got over it). Brother has a customer for life here.

Do the drivers still work on a newer computer?

I have a home office Brother laser fax/scan/print machine that's worked with Windows Vista through whatever the current Windows build is. Never had a driver problem; the only issues were the drum not handling off-brand toner well and my computers forgetting the printer's port every few years.

Depends. My brother dcp7065dn is no longer supported in the latest macOS release. It still works in windows

I’ve had really good luck with the Epson Ecotanks.

Have you gotten the dreaded "Replace Ink Pad" screen yet? It happens after a certain number of pages have been printed

Nope. Worst I’ve had to do was run the cleaning cycle several times when I let it sit. I probably print 2~3k pages per year. Most have images wi to instructions for my business. Been going strong for 6 years now.

This community suggested brother laser printer. I couldn’t be happier. Before that I thought all printers are a scam))))

Our family has owned a Dell E514dw all-in-one printer (prints, scans, copies), since 2017, and it has been a workhorse. Easy to find inexpensive third-party toners as well.
It is my understanding that our Dell is a rebadged Brother (may be a rebadged DCP-L2540DW), so the recommendations for a Brother laser printer seem to track.
The hardest part about setting the printer was not realizing we had to assign the printer a static IP. Once we figured that out, we have hardly had any issues with wifi printing.

i have a brother laser printer a few years ago and zero issues. I esp love that they have a mobile app where I can just control everything through that!

I have a couple 5(?) year old epson tank printers. Ink is cheap and lasts forever. If you don't use ot for a long time you need to print repeatedly until it works again, but it lasts forever. Highly recommend.

I have an 18 year young HP color cp1518ni laserjet that I inherited six jobs ago.
Drivers are just auto-detected generic HP drivers.
It's seldom used, but prints well.

Anything laser. HP laser also works fine I’m not sure why people are hating on them. My mom had one that was from 1999 and it was still working in 2023 when I gave her the much newer one I had before moving. And I currently have a color laser from HP that I got used and it hasn’t had a single hiccup since I got it.

Laser Printers, not an HP printer.
