Repair Got these wolverines resoled

The original one had become separated, the heel was falling off. Still lasted over 17 years working at a glass plant, can’t complain too much.

A resole makes so much sense once the uppers are already broken in to your feet. Fresh grip without restarting the whole boot.

Holy crap 17 years. I burn through vibram soles in 18 months.

And what did the cobbler charge you?

$86, which is about 1/4 of the cost of replacing these

Dang, not bad. Years ago I went to a cobbler to inquire about resoling some Irish Setters, and it was going to end up around 3/4 the price of new boots, so I just got new ones.

I work in a glass plant, on the floor. Similar temperatures to a steel mill, but less foreign objects.

The soles themselves probably could have had another year or two, but the glue was destroyed

Bought my first pair of Wolverines (Durbin) in 2014. I've averaged a pair every two years since. I work them ridiculously hard. Daily wear for construction. The soles wear out and come loose and I get holes in the leather at the steel toe. They just discontinued them, so I gotta figure out, after 12 years, what can replace them.

Haven't got them in yet cause they take like 8 damn weeks to make, but I'm very excited for the JK OT bison boots to come in. They should last me for life as a soft handed contractor lol but seems like they'll hold up better than basically anything else without going super heavy

How do you care for the leather?

I'm mildly peeved at Wolverine.

Bought a pair years ago and they've been great, but recently I had to replace my work boots and figured go with Wolverine again.

Ended up going with their Floorhand because local store had them on sale.

The right boot felt almost a half-size larger than it should have been. Bought another pair of Floorhands from a different store, same thing but maybe a quarter-size too big.
