Looking For Looking for moderators

Good day to everyone. I notice the influx of members in our sub. To better facilitate this subreddit, we are currently looking for moderators who can help manage and facilitate discussions, queries, posts, and comments.

Given that this is a business oriented sub, it would be nice to have if we can get people who are always active online and an:

  • Aspiring entrepreneur
  • Owner of a micro business
  • Owner of a small business
  • Owner of a medium sized business
  • Owner of a large business
  • Owners and currently executives of a corporation

We also encourage other moderators who are not on this list but think that they can offer something substantial to this community, like event planners, government employees who are employed by govt institutions that facilitates business operations here in PH (DTI/SEC, BIR, municipal/city employees, BOC, etc), and employees from the private sector who are involved extensively within their company.

I'm 43, have barista and baking experience, and a background in operations management. For former café owners or investors in the Philippines, would you recommend opening a café, a bakery, a coffee cart, a home-based baking business, or something else? What led you to that conclusion?

Discussion Sobrang corrupt ng BIR

Meron akong online shops with different accounts from Shopee and TikTok. I started on 2024, I complied with DTI, BIR, SEC duties, I pay my taxes accordingly pero nitong last August 2026, pinadalhan ako ng LOA ni BIR saying that I underreport my income and expenses, I submitted my books and taxes na finile ko pero they insist on having this "under the table" transaction para mababaan penalty ko.

I had to hire an accountant tuloy, he fixed and talked to the BIR agent and somehow someway napababa penalty namin without having this ridiculous amount na hinihingi niya, kaya fellow business owners, be careful sa mga mapang-lamang na tax agents, be ready sa documents palagi para madispute mga ginagawa nila sating mga SME

Get an accountant, organize your documents and accounting books, pay taxes correctly kahit na binubulsa lang nila, makakaginhawa din tayo

Looking For Cebu micro and small business owners: Offering a free 15-minute consultation on your business finances and operations

Hi everyone!

I’m a CPA based in Cebu, with experience in accounting and internal audit. I’m opening up a few slots for free 15-minute consultations for micro and small business owners in Cebu.

I know that running a small business involves much more than selling products or providing services. Owners also have to keep track of money, manage expenses, monitor cash flow, handle taxes, and make sure daily operations run smoothly.

Sometimes, it’s difficult to know where to start or what needs fixing when you’re busy running the business.

If any of these sound familiar, I’d be happy to help you talk through your concerns:
You earn sales, but you’re not sure where your money goes.

You have records of your transactions, but don’t know how to use them to make business decisions.
You’re struggling to monitor expenses, cash flow, or outstanding customer payments.
You’re unsure about your bookkeeping or tax compliance responsibilities.
Your business depends heavily on you because processes and controls aren’t clearly established.

What can we do in 15 minutes?
We can discuss one specific concern, identify possible areas for improvement, and explore practical next steps based on your situation.
This is a free initial consultation, not a full accounting review or a substitute for a detailed professional engagement. There’s no obligation to avail of paid services.

I’m offering this because I’d like to understand the real challenges faced by Cebu’s micro and small businesses and help where I can.

If you’re interested, feel free to comment with the general business concern you’d like to discuss or send me a DM.

Looking forward to learning from fellow Cebu business owners!

Thank you! 😊

Advice need advice for a tech queueing system

hi! my team and I are creating a smart nfc-powered queueing system that focuses on taking the pain out of traditional queueing. It works by tapping your phone on an nfc chip in an enterprise, which would digitally register you on a queue. It would then call you back when it is almost your turn. What makes it different is that it allows you to roam around and not have to be confined to a line (your turn is kept even when you leave) while waiting. You could be anywhere doing anything you want while queueing.

Question: what enterprises can we have as our clients? currently, we have in mind government offices, clinics, barber shops, basically anything that could potentially have a long queueing system. This could help us know which business we could pitch our services to in order to generate revenue.

Additional: here is our instagram page https://www.instagram.com/tapline.ph/
feedback on our product is also greatly appreciated! let us know what features to add/remove, if you would actually benefit from having it deployed in stores around the Philippines, what's missing, what would stop you from using this, and what would make it more useful to you.

thank you!

Advice Any advice sa business plan ko

Hi guys I'm an agriculture student and im 19 right now, so ayun mahilig ako mag tanim tanim, and mag isip ng business ideas na related sa agriculture since passionate ako dito, and ito yung gusto ko gawin. Naisip ko since may maluwang naman kaming backyard na di natataniman, and abandoned house ng lola ko na mawawasak na, why not idimolish ko yun myself and make a small avocado orchard since madami akong alam pagdating dito.

My idea is to buy a variety that flowers around feb to march, and maging harvest time ko is around aug to sep, since yung mga avocado here in the Philippines is namumulaklak ng dec to jan, and ang time season is june to july, okay lang naman kahit mga local varieties din kase di naman nahihinog ang avocado sa puno, need pa pitasin and they can hang for a year, so pwede maging natural storage yung mismomg puno. And Filipinos love avocados kahit pa anong month is may nag hahanap and napaka mahal pa nya sa palengke, june to july 120 per kilo sya, and kapag off season walang supply so sobrang mahal nya pwede ko sya ibenta ng 100 to 150 per kilo direct sa market, or maybe sa mga nag bebenta ng mga fruit shakes, i think kahit ganito ko kalaki ibenta ma bebenta ko parin kase nga walang supply kapag off season and pwede din ako mag monopolize ng konti. And most importantly para makapag monopolize ako during off season, wala pang gumagawa ng avocado farming especially sa bayan namin, during off season talaga walang mahahanap.

What do you think guys? Ask a question I'll answer it, make it like I'm defending a research proposal para malaman ko mga magiging problems and nakaisip ng solutions hehe, and give me some advice nadin. Thanks

Advice Should I invest ₱350k in a small dorm business in the Philippines?

Hi! I’m 33F, an OFW working abroad, and I want to start building passive income back home.

My family owns the land, and my father wants to continue the dorm he started building. Estimated construction cost is ₱350k plus furnishings. The plan is 4 students paying ₱3k each, giving ₱12k monthly rental income, which my father and I would split.

For those who own dorms or boarding houses, is this worth investing in? What expenses should I expect, and how would you fairly structure the income split when I’m funding the project but my father will help manage it?
I’d appreciate honest advice before I commit my savings. I have around 1.4 Million pesos in the bank just for context. Advice would he appreciated.

Looking For LF: POS SYSTEM for Dry Cleaning and Laundry

Hi, we have a dry cleaning and laundry business. We are looking for a POS system, but we don't know which is best for our industry. We had a demo with StoreHub and Utak, but we are not sure if these are the best for us because there are limited reviews about their after sales service.

Credit where credit is due.

TBH, hirap din magtrabaho sa gobyerno, kapag gumagawa ka ng tama tapos may nasaktan, gagawan ka kwento para siraan ka.
