October has been more like August here in North Carolina the past few days. I’m glad that my job allows me to work part of the afternoon from home so that the dogs can all take advantage of the nice weather while it’s still here, as it’s supposed to turn cold this weekend.

Does your bull terrier also jump on people out of excitement? My guy is getting bigger and it’s become a destructive behavior, especially toward children who are excited to meet “the Target dog” but he wants to kiss them and knock them over. Happens to adults too.

What can I do? Does this behavior go away with age? I’ve tried positive reinforcement, “ignore” when he jumps on me etc. There is nothing he loves more than people. So he simply cannot control himself or listen (he’s also 50% deaf) so it’s extremely difficult to get him to listen when others are present, but impossible to work on the behavior without people around.

This dog is hilarious. Little Lolacita and I had a donut date before I took her to daycare, and apparently I interrupted her mid-morning nap 😂

This is her being gentle, and it's better than losing a finger by her forgetting they are the things holding the treats and chomping them off 🤣

This is us, every single night, a tangle of tattooed limbs and English bull terrier. I wouldn't have it any other way! Gary's my third bullie, we rescued him and were told that he was un-trainable. He's the naughtiest dog I've ever met, but he's such a happy boy. His behaviour is impeccable when he's asleep (apart from the odd kick in our ribs!)

We’ve had a long week around here but we’re on the mend. 💕 This lady gets extra cuddly when she isn’t feeling great and there are close to zero things that would make me reposition or take an arm back.

Need I say more??!!!!

She’s now several years older and still sticks that snout where it would be wiser not to. And yes events unfolded just as you would have predicted

Happy Birthday Ilya!

his favorite things are cookies, walkies with the family, a real good nap, and being a very very good boy ♡ he also enjoys his sister, warm baths, hot dogs, cheese, bell peppers, and stealing dad's spot in the big bed after he goes to work.

Coretta is on the 4x daily eye drops, because she somehow got a corneal ulcer immediately upon the completion of the majority of Ilya's healing 🙄
