Build Aula Lights: free app that makes the AULA F75 keyboard work like a real Mac keyboard
Hi all, I’m the developer. I bought an AULA F75 and found that on a Mac it types like a Windows keyboard: Alt sits where ⌘ Command should be and Win where ⌥ Option should be, and AULA’s own app is Windows-only. So I made a free Mac app to fix it.
What it does
- Mac layout: one click makes Alt work as ⌘ Command and Win as ⌥ Option. Only the AULA changes, not your MacBook’s keyboard, and it keeps working after restarts and reconnects.
- Lighting: all 18 of the keyboard’s light effects, any colour, brightness and speed.
- The knob as a dial: click the knob for an on-screen ring to change volume, skip songs (it shows what’s playing), adjust brightness or open apps.
- Extras: a typing ripple, a heatmap of your most-used keys and a small reaction game, all shown on the keyboard.
Details
- Free and open source (MIT). macOS 14+, Apple silicon and Intel.
- It asks for Input Monitoring because the keyboard’s light controls share a connection with its keys. Key presses are only used to draw the lights; nothing is stored or sent.
- It isn’t notarized, so the first time you open it, go to System Settings → Privacy & Security → Open Anyway.
- Lighting needs the USB-C cable or the 2.4 GHz receiver; the Mac layout works over Bluetooth too.

Not affiliated with AULA. Feedback welcome, especially from other F75 owners.
