Placements / Jobs Got placed at 18 LPA from a tier 3 college. The war is finally over 😭

• Upvotes

Just graduated from a tier 3 college and got placed at a really good tech company with an 18 LPA package. Still feels unreal typing this. I’m so happy and relieved.

Wanted to share the resources I used for anyone preparing. No gatekeeping:

  • DSA Striver: Learned DSA entirely from his content. Thank god for this man. Having a structured path to follow made a huge difference.
  • System design Gaurav Sen: His explanations made the concepts so much easier to understand. Really helpful during my preparation.

I’m incredibly grateful to both of them for everything they’ve put out there. Their content played a huge part in helping me get here.

To everyone still preparing, wishing you the best. Hope you get to write your own “got placed” post soon ❤️

Rant/Vent Literally going to college to escape home and coming home to escape college

I just don't feel like I belong anywhere. Today they probably have this stupid dandiya celebration or something where I am gonna be all alone like a freak and now thinking for hrs now if I should go to college and make myself feel awkward or stay at home with my toxic family and destroy my mental health further.

Any suggestions are welcomed guys. Help a kiddo out.

Academics How do you guys earn money as students?

Post image
34 Upvotes

I'm in BTech and I'm kinda struggling with money rn. There are so many things I wanna buy but can't afford them. My parents can get them for me but I don't feel like asking them for every little thing, especially when it's not a necessity.

So yeah, how do you guys earn money? Other than saving whatever pocket money you get. Any part time jobs or anything?

Also I'm from Mumbai, so if anyone knows where I can find a part time job, please tell me 😭

Rant/Vent The Research Paper Trap: How College Professors Exploit Students for Promotions

If you want a good placement after engineering college, focus on building real skills and avoid the "research paper scam" at all costs. This is the reality of what happened to me when I was in college.

I guess we were in our 4th semester, and we had a web development lab class. Our professor came to the first class and told us: "You can learn web development from anywhere, but do you know what is most important for a college student? A research paper."

Instead of teaching us what or how to research, he divided the entire class into groups and assigned everyone the task of writing a research paper. He suggested that we first download some research papers from various websites, study them, and understand how they work—which basically meant copy-pasting to avoid plagiarism. No one actually conducted real research or wrote their own thesis and principles. He also instructed us to include his name on the papers. Everyone followed his suggestions.

When it came time for publication, we had to publish it on IEEE, which cost around ₹6,000 to ₹7,000. We contributed the money ourselves, and all of this was just for good grades and nothing else.

This is a scam. Avoid it if possible, and spend your time learning real skills if you want a good placement.

Watch it : Watch this to know how students get trapped and why you should focus on real skills instead.

Placements / Jobs How to do CP in mobile during lecture?

Please share your setup or apps that you use. Professors waste time in the class and I scroll reels there. So I want to turn it into something productive. Please help. The screen is too small. And switching apps and online compilers feels too tiring.

PLEASE don't say "use the full form" I can't change the title now

Placements / Jobs I fumbled on my first job interview.

I gave my first job interview and I don't know if I was out of my mind or nervous but I confidently gave wrong answer. The interviewer even tried to correct me by giving hints but I couldn't catch it at that time. Ever since the interview I've been thinking about this. The question was not even new to me, I knew the answer and it was simple but still gave the wrong answer at that time, I was not even thinking like my brain just froze.

I just want to forget what happened during the interview.

Academics Should I Focus on IT Placements or Prepare for Government Jobs?

• Upvotes

I'm currently pursuing BTech in CSE, and this is genuinely what I wanted to do. However, my parents believe private-sector jobs aren't secure because you can lose your job anytime, so they want me to prepare for government exams after BTech.

And my College isn't some good college so I have to fully focus on off campus placement...

The problem is that I have no interest in subjects like GK and Social Studies, and I don't want to spend years preparing for competitive exams without any guarantee of success. I genuinely want to build a career in IT, but my parents' constant pressure makes me question my decision sometimes.

Also, I don't want to settle in India permanently and would love to explore opportunities abroad in the future.

So, I want honest opinions from people working in IT or government jobs:

- Are private IT jobs really that risky?

- Can I build a stable career through IT if I focus on my skills and placements?

- Is a government job actually a better option in the long run?

- How realistic is moving abroad through an IT career?

I'd really appreciate some genuine advice because I'm honestly confused about what I should do.

Tldr :- CSE student who wants an IT career abroad, but parents want me to prepare for govt exams due to job security concerns. Is the private sector really that risky?

Placements / Jobs Offering a ₹10K/month Remote Internship for Freshers + Help with a Data Analytics Career Roadmap

• Upvotes

TL;DR: Offering a remote social media internship for 2 months at ₹10,000/month (1–2 hours/day) for freshers and final-year students. I’ll also guide interested candidates with a Data Analytics/Data Science roadmap to help them work towards landing a job in 3–4 months. Good performance may lead to referrals or opportunities in my sister companies, depending on vacancies. Interested? DM me your resume and a short introduction.

Hey everyone,

I know a lot of freshers are struggling to land their first job right now.

Even entry-level roles seem to require experience, and it can be frustrating when you don’t know where to start.
I thought I’d try to help in whatever small way I can.
I’m looking for a few freshers or final-year students for a 2-month, remote social media internship.

The stipend will be ₹10,000 per month, and the work should take around 1–2 hours a day.
Alongside the internship, I’ll help interested candidates get started with Data Analytics and Data Science.

I’ll share a learning roadmap, explain which skills and tools to focus on, and guide you on preparing for entry-level roles. The goal is to help you work towards job readiness in around 3–4 months, depending on your effort and progress.

If you learn quickly, take ownership of your work, and perform well, I’ll also consider referring you for suitable openings or exploring opportunities in my sister companies if vacancies are available. Nothing is guaranteed, but I’ll do my best to help where I can.

Who can apply?
Fresh graduates looking for their first break.
Final-year students who want some practical experience.
Job seekers who are willing to learn but aren’t sure how to get started.

You don’t need to know everything already. I’m more interested in your attitude, consistency, and willingness to put in the effort.

The internship itself is for two months, but I’d like you to walk away with something more valuable than just the stipend — some experience, useful skills, and a clearer direction for your career.

If this sounds useful to you, DM me your resume and a short introduction about yourself, including what you’ve studied and what you’d like to learn.

If you know someone who might benefit from this, feel free to share it with them.😄
