Distillery alternative?

Hello! My husband and I are coming from Denver for a trip for a long weekend (10/29-11/1) in Breck but just saw that the Breckenridge distillery and restaurant are going to be closed the whole time. We were looking forward to doing a tour and I love their gin. Can anyone recommend a similar restaurant/experience? TIA

Disability-friendly trails in the area?

My wife and I are having our anniversary trip in Breckenridge next month. We live in the Denver area and had a few day trips, but never really got to explore trails. We'll be spending 2 nights there and curious what's a disability-friendly trail in or around Breck.

We're not wheelchair-bound, and we can handle a little incline but nothing drastic. Loops are preferred but not required. I have inflammatory arthritis with bad knees/hips.

Thanks!

rooms for rent?

Hi! My name's Liv, I'm 25 from Connecticut and moving to Breckenridge next month to work at the resort. The only issue I'm facing is finding housing and I was wondering if anybody knew of any leads or had any rooms still available? My budget is maximum $1,200 but preferably under 1100.

Feel free to dm :)

Family Trip in early December

Hi all!

Planning a trip for my son’s 10th birthday. We live in SoCal and his one wish for his birthday is to see snow. We were originally thinking Park City, Utah, but have learned there may not be snow during our planned dates. The dates for the trip are approx December 11 - 14. Thoughts on the chances of snow in Breckenridge at that time?

We are not skiers so this will likely be a trip to do things like sledding, ice skating, playing in the snow and maybe trying a half day or day of snowboarding/skiing if he’s up to it. Finding a nice resort that has activities for him and a pool would be a plus.

Any suggestions on hotels?

Any other must see/do activities for a boy this age who is experiencing the snow for the first time?

TIA!

Question What are the locals favorite places to go/things to do in Breck?

Before I get crucified yes, I read the 12 year old links on the side (restaurants and activities change a lot in 12 years) and would rather ask a locals subreddit than trust sponsored links from Google.

I'll be coming with a group of three (all adults) to go skiing in March. I've skied in Colorado plenty of times just not Breck. We will be staying in the town of Breckenridge but will also have a vehicle to get around.

What are your favorite restaurants/bars/things to do around town in the winter? Anything cool outside of town I should know about? Are there any non-ski activities you'd recommend? (Ice skating, snowmobiling, etc).

Troll Stuffy?

Does anyone know where I can find a troll stuffy in Breckenridge (if it exists?)

My toddler loves trolls and I told her I’d try to find her a stuffy. So many stores here though! Does it exist anywhere? Thanks :)

Global Breck is a slap in the face to locals.

I don’t think the town should be giving tens of thousands of dollars to an “invite only” private event.

Yes, there is the BS concert where you can watch other people eat food you can’t, but it’s not like we are lacking for free concerts and live music here.

Yes, they offered a few symbolic tickets to restaurant workers, but they were weirdly hard to redeem.

I like Matt. I eat at his restaurants all the time. I’m at Three Fold every week.

I would have been fine if this was just a private event, but I’m bothered the town funded it given how much was closed to the public.

How’s the fall colors in Breckenridge??

Hi guys, thinking to go to Breckenridge tomorrow morning to see fall colors, but I’m not sure. People who went recently or are from that area can you tell how it is now?

If not Breckenridge, can you suggest something else for 1 day trip?

Picture Breckenridge proposal good or bad idea (FINAL UPDATE)

Planning on proposing to my girlfriend in Breckenridge this fall and I’m thinking about doing it at Sapphire Point. My only concern is how crowded it gets. We’re both pretty introverted and I’d rather not propose with a bunch of people standing around lol. I’m planning on going bright and early in the morning. Would Sapphire Point be a good choice?

UPDATE: Thank you to everyone who commented and gave me advice! I truly appreciate all the help. Plans changed pretty last minute, and we made the impulsive decision to head to Colorado this week! I’m definitely nervous, but super excited at the same time. I’ll come back with another update afterward and hopefully share some photos too. Wish me luck!

FINAL UPDATE: Thank you to everyone who took the time to respond and offer suggestions! I really appreciate all the advice. I ended up going with Sapphire Point, and honestly, it couldn’t have gone any better! The weather was perfect, the views were incredible, and there was only one small family at the overlook. It actually worked out perfectly because they were kind enough to take a picture of me, my now-fiancée, and her mom together!
Again, thank you all for the advice! I’ll probably be back asking more questions when it’s time to plan the wedding 😂

Where do locals buy ski equipment?

Maybe stupid question but in looking to buy boots on my next trip most places in Breckenridge seem to be exclusively rentals.

Early morning transportation from Baldy Mountain area to Breckenridge & Keystone – Winter 2026/27

Hey everyone!

We're a group of 7 international students from Uruguay coming to Summit County this winter through a J-1 Work and Travel program. We've all been hired by Vail Resorts, with some of us working at Breckenridge (ski school and lift operations) and others at Keystone (rentals).

We're considering renting a house in the Baldy Mountain / Boreas Pass area of Breckenridge, near the Boreas Pass Loop bus route.

Our main concern is transportation, especially early in the morning. We haven't received our final work schedules yet, but we know some shifts could start quite early.

We've been researching Summit Stage and Breck Free Ride, but it looks like the Boreas Pass Loop might not start early enough for some employees.

We'd really appreciate some local advice:

  • Are there any early morning transportation options (around 5:30–7:00 AM) from the Baldy Mountain area to Peak 8 or Breckenridge Station?
  • Does Vail Resorts offer employee shuttles for early shifts?
  • How realistic is commuting daily from Breckenridge to Keystone River Run using public transportation, both in the morning and after work?
  • Has anyone lived in this area while working at either resort? How did you manage transportation?

We're hoping to avoid buying or renting a car, so we're trying to figure out whether this location would actually work before committing to a lease.

Any advice, personal experiences, or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance!

Trip over Thanksgiving

Hi! We are coming Sunday-Friday of thanksgiving week. Wondering if skiing on Thanksgiving is better or worse (if the snow is ready?) We are thinking of going on Tuesday if that week but someone mentioned Thursday could be better? Any other tips appreciated. We have four that are 25-30 and two teenagers wanting to ski. All experienced. Two bringing skis and four renting. I searched the sub and couldnt find much info.

Question Trip to Breckenridge and not ski?

Hey there, my 3 buddies and I want to go somewhere sick for a quick trip in December. We went to Park City Utah last year and had a blast just hiking in Zion National Park, eating good food, having beers, it was a blast.

Breckenridge seems pretty similar, and we’re not too keen on skiing. We like to hike, have beers, spark a doobie, see and drive to cool places in nature. Knowing this, is Breckenridge worth traveling to? Or are we the wrong target audience?
Also we’d go in December.

Any insight helps.

Vacation in August

We are from PA and want to take our adult children to Breckenridge for a family summer trip. We like to hike, go white water rafting and enjoy night life. Is this a good choice for an adult family vacation in August?

Question 37M looking to move to Breckenridge for the winter but don't anybody. Thoughts?

This year has been rough - no job, no girlfriend, no nothing. I need a change in my life. Last winter was the lonliest time of my life and I can't do it again.

I always wanted to move out West, and I kinda feel like it's now or never. I know it's expensive and I'm currently living out of my savings, but I do have a fair bit saved up so I can get by for 4 months.

However I don't know anybody there, and am actually quite a social person, so I'm usually pretty good at making friends. I'm looking to date as well and hope to meet someone special. I'm big into tennis as well and see they have a small indoor place, which is awesome! I also snowboard and hope to it 4 to 5 times a week.

What are your thoughts? I've never even been to breckenridge but it sounds like the best fit. Is it easy to make friends?

Question Best options for a newbie

Hi all!

I’m pretty new to snowboarding, my husband grew up doing it but I’ve only gone a few times and only in northern Wisconsin. But we thought about doing a trip to Breckenridge since I really enjoyed it and I love Colorado. I’m so new and ignorant to how the concept of lodging at certain peaks work, every lodge I look at specifies what peak it’s located at. I was wondering if people had suggestions as to which peak is best for someone who is still super new to snowboarding. Would you recommend the lodge route or should we consider AirBnBs instead? Does it matter the peak we stay at? My husband says he’s nervous about the idea of me going snowboarding in Colorado because I’ve never even attempted our black diamonds in Wisconsin lol so he wants to make sure we’re not going down anything that would be dangerous for a beginner.

Also we’ve never been to the Aspen, Vail, or Breckenridge area either. We’ve always staying in Boulder or Denver when visiting the state. So even if you think a different city would be a better option we’re open to it.

Thanks in advance!
