I was there. Jumping up and down, staring at the backs of all the adults in front of me.

Watching with my dad in Norcross, GA. I have this on a shirt (and my flair).

One of my most vivid memories from childhood. Absolutely thrilling to this day!

I still watch this multiple times a year. The call is so good. I remember exactly where I was and jumping into my dad’s arms and running around the house. Oh to be young again.

You know, I’m all for replay in general. No one likes a missed call. But one of the downsides of replay is this call would have been challenged by the Pirates and we would have spent 5 min in agony waiting on the result. And instead of Skip saying “Braves win! Braves win! Braves win!”, he would have had to say “Braves maybe win, now let’s wait and see what New York says.”

Man, I still tear up when watching this. It is still, IMO, the greatest moment in Atlanta Braves history. It trumps the 95 & 21 WS for me ... so many of us suffered through so many years of bad-to-mediocre baseball, and then ... this perfect moment.

For the team and franchise, 💯. This moment is when that Atlanta magic was created. This is when faith was born and has carried every team since then.

My mom was pregnant with me and my dad was in another room watching the game. As soon as Slid slid he comes rushing to my mom screaming BRAVES WIN, BRAVES WIN, BRAVES WIN, THE BRAVES ARE GOING TO THE WORLD SERIES! So....I kinda have a memory of that night

I was there. One of my greatest memories of my early years. Went with my Uncle when I was 14. The energy of the place when he was called safe was absolutely insane. Such a great moment in time.

love this play and ol Sid Bream. What's crazy to me is that my memory of this game has been corrupted over the years. For some reason I remember it being more of a "hook slide" sorta with his right hand touching home plate. I've obviously got it mixed up with a different play but odd how the brain works and I see now why eye witness testimony can be unreliable.

I had just turned 12. I am from Buffalo and became a Braves fan in 1989 because of TBS. I wanted to love the A’s but they were just never on. I started watching the Braves at 7:05 every day and just fell in love. I cried myself to bed after Game 7 in 1991. It was the first time in my lifetime one of my teams made it that far (Sabres (since birth) Saints (since 1987), Italian National team (since 1986- they won the World Cup in 1982 but I was 2 and didn’t see it. My first games were the 86 World Cup with Nonno)).
Anyway, I am watching Game 7 at home alone and right before the bottom of the 9th my Mom got home from work and sat down to watch with me. Cabrera comes up and she asks me if he’s going to get a hit. I said I barely knew who he was. She was stunned. She said something
about how I watched the Braves every day all summer, how is there someone you don’t know? I said he played in the Bisons league and before I even got the word league out of my mouth he got the hit. I was going nuts and jumping all over her. She told me I will know who he is forever now. Still one of my favorite memories with my mom.
Postscript 1- My dad took me to Game 3 of the World Series and we lost on a walk-off single and I cried the whole way home from the SkyDome. My dad took me there twice. In 1990 for WM6 and in 1992 for the WS. I left crying both times. He said, I’m not taking you there anymore. What can I say, I was an emotional Italian boy.
Postscript 2- I have a sports podcast and have gotten to know Sean McDonough. I had him on and we discussed this play. Today, I was texting with him about it and he said it was maybe the greatest game he ever called. If you would have told me after the game in 1992 that 34 years later I would be texting with McDonough about it I would have done a backflip. Blessed.
