Same bro…same :/
Took one from a team we weren’t supposed to take any.

Outside of 2021 i feel like ive watched the same braves season on repeat since 2018.

I mean outside of the last 2 years, you have. Win 90+ games, win the division, fall flat in the playoffs.
TBH this year feels a lot like 2018 where we lost 3-1 to the Dodgers but were just happy to be there. The only difference was we never got a fun postseason moment from Acuña.

Yeah, that's kinda where I'm at. After last year I was just happy to see the improvements that Walt brought.
Only difference between then and now is how the core isn't getting any younger.

i think the main difference is, in 2018 our window wasn't open, but it was opening. 2018 was optimism for the future.
i feel like now everyone realizes our window may be shut.
there's a massive difference imo. we weren't supposed to win as early as 2021, but we damn sure were supposed to at least compete in 2022, 2023, 2024.
we didn't. now it's possible this era is over.

You’re correct but it actually goes all the way back to the 2000 LDS.
NLDS should be a four letter word

I remember being young and inexperienced in the way of Atlanta sports. Before the weight of postseason failure crushed me

My first sentient Braves season was 1991. Steady increasing highs then...pain. Same as it ever was.

When Dubon dropped that routine fly ball and the Dodgers tied it up, I knew it was over for us

Honestly the eliminations we had from 2018 to 2024 were devastating for me.
I don't know if I'm just used to it now or if the slow death of our offense for 3 years prepared me, but I'm not depressed about this postseason.
Maybe taking down the Phillies helps out. But I can just clearly see that we can't compete any further this October with this lineup.

Taking down the Phillies helps a ton. The dodgers suck, but at least their payroll explains a lot (even if it doesn’t explain why our bats have been this way). Beating the Phillies was the highlight of the season for me.

Hope you're proud of this, Freddie Freeman

Why is it just the stuff that was shitty in the 90s making a comeback? The expensive ass computers, physical media getting so expensive, and The Braves losing in the playoffs. If this siberia shit turns into an actual plague, maybe we can repeat 2021 the year it is safe to go outdoors again....

An October tradition like no other, Braves losing in the Divisional Round.

Was not a fun way to lose. We had overall some of the worst ABs all season from just about everyone other than MHII and Ozzie

Ironic that it was hitting and not pitching that screwed us up,

u/After-Growth-3986 6d ago
Pitchers overachieved in the postseason, while our hitters underachieved. Not what I expected, but we did experience multiple hitting droughts during the season.

Someone reported my post for hate speech when I was saying this season was a win in my book 😂

Idk what's worse. Just sucking all the time and never winning anything
Or being good, 90+ wins and always winning division but barely making it far

Well hey, it could be worse. We at least went on a title run once in recent memory, that's a helluva lot better than many teams can say (looking at you, Cleveland).

u/CJBulldogsss 7d ago
Being good and constantly choking is 10x worse imo. When the Braves had bad years I checked out early and scoreboard watched with no stress on losses and I haven't cared about a Falcons game in nearly 10 years because I knew the end result

u/BrayIsReal 7d ago
Facts. Nothing worse knowing you should win and could win but just arent

u/TheMeargler 5d ago
But it's at least balanced by the fact that we did win in a year we had absolutely no business doing so.

Being dogshit is way worse than having a competitive team. This is insane post season behavior.

Ya I’m an upstate NY Braves fan cause TBS. Also a Bills fan and these past few years have been way more painful than the 00-10’s stretches where both teams were ass cheeks.
Although the almost HR record season was way worse than this year. Just a giant let down in the PS. Didn’t expect to get past the Brewers anyways this year but wanted to at least take down the Phillies and Dodgers.

A lot of you are talking like we are in some crazy drought. We won five years ago on a hell of a run…

You all could have warned me.
I was new at being a loyal fan. I subscribed to every channel I needed to so as not to miss a game. I bought a collection of Braves shirts with names on the back. I purchased a set of cards so I could learn the names and faces. I admitted on social media using my real name that I was a Braves fan. I fantasized about marrying Victor or Michael or both.
So we gamed our way into the playoffs. Of course. We beat the Phillies. Naturally. I made plans for snacks and sweet tea for World Series week. Then came the Dodgers. They played hard but, hey, let’s allow them to win a game so the end loss wouldn’t hurt them too much. We are good sports.
Then came game three. They didn’t cheat. Their fans didn’t throw objects on the field. Their guys were friendly and respectful to our guys.
They beat us. We lost. We lost big. It seemed like our guys didn’t even try. Maybe the Dodgers just wanted it more. Or maybe they are the better team.
Anyone want to buy some tee shirts cheap?
