📚 Book Collection My Small Paperback Collection
Here is my small collection of (mostly) vintage paperbacks. Any favorites? I'm partial to the William Sleator books as they are from my childhood. Otherwise, my favorite book is Rendezvous with Rama and love the Ballantine 1978 cover. I'm still on the hunt for the ACE paperback of Dune from 1974. I'd love to see your paperback collections.

Old paperbacks just hit different. The artwork and the yellowing pages have so much character. Good luck finding that ACE Dune.

‘House of Stairs’ - freaked me out when I was a kid!
And I loved those old Bradbury paperbacks!
Check out r/coolscificovers if you would like to post some individual covers

Ace LOTR always gets me excited.

That was a fun one to find. I'm assuming all my luck was used - and Two Towers / Return of the King will be really difficult to find. That same library used book sale had the first print paperback of the hobbit.

I found all of these at one store most of them for a dollar or two. Now, if only I would get around to reading most of them. I have read all the Dune and the Pandora series (not pictured). Definitely try to find both versions of Destination Void; it updates the novel so it can be followed by the Pandora trilogy with Bill Ransom.

That is a great collection! I’ll be in the look out for those.
Dune is one of my favorite series, but haven’t read anything else by Herbert. I also haven’t read any of the Brian Herbert Dune books.

"House of Stairs" - that was a weird one. I remember it, so I guess that says something.Â

I love hitting up library sales and used bookstores for great scifi covers like these. Truly judging books by covers and grabbing the ones that are the most interesting or crazy.

We have the same copy of childhoods end and rend. With Rama.
I love the feel of those paperbacks during that era

Nice collection. I love old sci fi paperbacks, they have the best artwork and there are so many gems, particularly from the era(s) youre representing here. I am partial to those Foundation covers, so good.

The Foundation ones are so simple but effective!
They are all so unique. I especially love books with painted edges.

Like the Foundation covers - bought those back in the day and went on the list of books I will not loan

Great cover! Any other covers you know of that are vibrant or have that classic sci fi feel?

I dig well preserved paperbacks from the bygone eras. Beautiful collection you have there!

I love that I can’t tell perspective from the photo, so your photo could be your small collection of paperbacks, or your large collection of unusually small — doll-sized, perhaps — paperbacks.

Nice collection. You know the major distributor of mass market paperbacks says they will, or have, stopped publishing them. Hard to say what that will do to the value of them, and whether they actually disappear.
