Meet Olla (tuxedo) and Charlotte (tabby), two of my foster kittens who became the bestest of friends even though they're a month apart in age and have only known each other for ten days. ❤️
Charlotte came to us as a singleton and was very lonely during her quarantine, so when she was introduced to my resident adult cats, she was glad to have company, and quickly became the tiny boss of the household, lording over the big guys.
Then we got a call from the shelter about three bottle babies (Olla and her siblings). They're roughly a month younger and during their quarantine I was worried they'd be too young to get along with her.
The first couple days after they were introduced were... Harsh. Charlotte was veeerrry confused about the small furry goblins and she kept hissing, growling and swatting at them, but also seeking them out when we separated her and following them around the room.
The babies were mostly afraid of her, except for Olla, who immediately decided they would be best friends, whether Charlotte liked it or not. After a few scuffles where we were really worried she would hurt them because she played so rough, she started to learn to control her strength. Olla especially never backed down, but she also never hissed or growled back, she purred and showed her belly and gently invited her to play. Fast forward about ten days and now, they're practically joined at the hip. Charlotte gets along with the other two just fine and cuddles and plays with them too, but nine times out of ten it's with Olla. They crawl to each other in their sleep and always seek each other out at play time.
Seeing their friendship blossom so fast has astonished me. I knew kittens could form friendships but I never imagined it could be this obviously strong of an attachment.
The problem is : Charlotte is due back at the shelter for adoption at the end of the month, and Olla still has a month left after that before she graduates from foster school. The shelter won't hold Charlotte or rush Olla for a dual adoption. So there's a fair chance they'll have to go their separate ways. But! There's hope! A friend of a friend is interested in adopting them both, in which case the shelter would make an exception and facilitate the dual adoption. She's supposed to come visit them next week to make up her mind.
Please cross all your fingers and toes for these two besties to stay together! And if not, celebrate the tiniest of friendships with me, even if it's not meant to last, it still made their time here - and mine - so much sweeter. 🫶

Maxine (the mother, calico) and Pearl (the daughter, orange) are inseparable. Pearl’s favorite activity is harassing her mom and sitting directly on top of her!

Here are my girlies. One purchased and the other rescued. Born on the same date a month apart. They are never apart! I’ve never seen a love so beautiful. I just wanted to share their relationship as I love to watch them. Maple is the orange 20th April and Syrup is the rescue tabby 20th May. I feel so lucky to have them both x

Once again, Shrimp Scampi’s plans to get up have been foiled by S’ghetti Noodle’s noggin. Another 15 minutes it is.

We adopted these silly heads a month ago from the same rescue organization. As soon as we brought them home they were magnets to one another.

5 and a half months old and Merry is getting so much bigger than his sister! You can really see the size difference in the past photo. #2 is probably my favorite one, though.

Lucifer (left) had been an asshole to one of our other cats all his life. We adopted him from the shelter at 3 months old and he seemed like he had grown up on the street alone. When he was 1.5 years old and his behaviour didn't improve, we figured he might be bored. Not long after, a kitten needing a loving home crossed our path and ever since that day Apollo and Lucifer have become the bestest of friends. Apollo follows Lucifer wherever he goes, they play all the time and Lucifer spends half his days grooming his adopted son. Also, the dog is not allowed to spend any time in his beds.

This is Georgia Peaches (lighter one) and Angelina Mae Belle. They were our bonded ragdoll sisters from different litters with the same father at the breeder who took more to each other than their siblings. They constantly bathed each other and cuddled together. I swear they were telepathic with each other. They have both since passed, but I wanted to share them.
I miss them every single day.

edit: this picture is a little old. they have since been given a much larger stainless steel box in a bigger space. also they’ve never gone on each other. but there have been some close calls where i had to push them apart.
