So ive lurked the btbam forum for years, I don't much participate in social media much outside of some video game subreddits helping people. So I was inspired today as I went through some shows I was at through the setlist.fm site. I was first introduced to what would become Between the Buried and Me in 1998 or 1999. It would have been my junior or senior year of high school in a small town called Mebane NC. I listened to a bunch of hardcore stuff back then including a band called Soul Integrity and one called Prayer for Cleansing. I had seen the latter a few times at local shows and listened to the former on tape almost daily, one of my closest friends to this day introduced me to the tape. Long story short they went on to form Btbam and drop the first two albums. There was a show booked in 2002 for a Winston Salem NC show that something happened with the venue and they couldn't host the show the day of and at last minute the Mebane Arts Center was chosen. This show was the first of a couple I had a conversation with Tommy at this particular was mostly about our shared interest in Mr Bungle and all things Patton. I believe if im correct The Red Chord played that night and Quell if my memory seves at my age. There were off duty Mebane Police officers monitoring the show that had to be hired the day of for the show to go on. I say all that to say ive been a fan since the demo, which I still have and to this day just finished watching og Colors Live again, im by far not saying i know them personally ive had a few interactions with a few of them including past memebers and all have been stand up people, im saying its 2026 and there music has been woven throughout my life. The second show I took my son to was a Btbam show in Harrisburg PA where we had been living at the time. I was at the 2023 Christmas Burns Red show where they played Colors live and i believe was Dustys last show. I still listen to something by them daily even if I just throw Viridian and White Walls on at the end of the day to wind down. So long story short or maybe fun memory for someone. Feel free to share if you happen to remember anything about this show or any fun Btbam memories.

In Search Of….
I had this shirt in high school and it was my FAVORITE shirt. I lost it along the way but would love to own one again. I know it’s a rare find now but if anyone has a size L out there and wants to part with it… I’d love to buy it from you.

I learned silent flight parliament intro by ear and thought it was string skipping instead of this big ass slide from 3 to 7. How do they do it? I legit tried to sit down and learn by tab sun of nothing the other day and i can barely get the first 3 notes. All their shit is just so insane. Mad respect for anyone who get their shit down. Plz dont hate me too much for being awful. Just wanted to show what I thought it was vs what it is

Essentially this. I love the band, and I'm going to see them live for the first time next Saturday here in São Paulo, and they are masters of breakdowns (think Swim To The Moon, God Terror, etc), but they build so much in this song and then deliver so little, lol.
Anyway, what are your favorite BTBAM breakdowns?

Hey so im new BTBAM, when i listen to them i genuinely enjoy it but idk why i personally find their song very dense, like ive heard colors like thrice and yet i cant even remember a single hook or riffs from that album and same goes with the great misdirect ,these are the only two albums ive heard till now, am i doing something wrong???

With them probably finally winding down on the Blue Nowhere tours, and going we are nearing the end of the year, I'm curious what type of touring cycle they'll have for 2027?
I think the obvious guess is that since it will also be the 20th anniversary of Colors, they may give us another Colors tour. For myself, I don't think so, only because we're not that far removed from the Colors Experience tour a few years back.
However, I don't think we're gonna get Colors Experience 2.0, I do think we might get another Evening with tour with them playing 2 sets. Maybe even throw it back to how they did it with Colors live, where they play Colors as set 1 and set 2 is a career set.
How about everyone else? Do you think we'll get another Evening with tour, or maybe just a regular touring cycle?

Parallax II is my absolute favorite album of all time. I remember being blown away the day it came out, and I am still blown away by it today. I tried to learn riffs here and there, but always backed away when it got complicated.
I have been playing guitar for 21 years but would consider myself an intermediate level guitarist. I want to push myself to get to another level I have been never able to achieve. I bought the transcription for this album from sheet happens and am planning to tackle some of this behemoth.
I think I’m going to start with Lay Your Ghosts to Rest as it seems like a decent bridge from my current ability level.
Any guitarists have any tips for getting through? I have never really attempted to learn at this degree, but I am going to try to focus until I can at least play this one song.
Edit: Thanks for the advice! I am absolutely going to take these nice and slow. I just figure I’ll be stuck playing at the same level forever if I don’t challenge myself and I can’t think of a better bit of music to do it with.

Our newest single from our upcoming release Compos Mentis, produced by Jamie King of BTBAM fame! This one is less heavy, but hoping you all will enjoy. Thanks in advance if you check it out!

this album. around the time of when this released is when the band finally clicked for me. was lucky enough to see them play summer slaughter in like 2012, and they even played fossil genera (ended up being a huge favorite later on) but didn't know what was happening tbh
Started enjoying them more and more and replayed parallax 2 many times over the years, with other albums also included (REALLY loving Blue Nowhere now). But Parallax 2? It makes me feel... like everything is going to be ok, oddly? The riffs are so powerful, with what seems like a perfect balance of addictive singing parts. It's like once it starts, the anxiety I may have kinda just... fades? It's like an actual sonic adventure that is so unique to anything I've ever heard. So easy to get lost in it and it really never gets old. Lay Your Ghosts to Rest and Silent Flight Parliament being the best imo
TLDR: Actual 10/10 record. Never fails to improve my mood, and seems like it will stand the test of time. This band is so fkn awesome man

Found another buried file from years past. I learned this like 20 years ago and polished it up one day to record. The tabs I had at the time were definitely wrong lol
I think that's all I've got. I've done full covers of Astral Body, Mirrors, and Specular Reflection, but I'm pretty sure I posted those? I don't know. I don't remember hah

I found this video deep in my hard drive. I did this 5 years ago for some dumb reason.

Every time I hear it and play it on my steering wheel, it has to be one of the most insane, technical and creative pieces he’s ever come up with and I don’t think anything has ever come close.
Thoughts from fellow BTBAM drummer nerds?

Couldn’t post earlier, but here’s some BTBAM bracelets I made a while back and a photocard my mom made for me! I gave blake a bracelet that was colors themed so i made a new one because I lowk missed it lmao😭 I would’ve really loved to give Dan the TGM bracelet, Paul TBN one, and Tommy the TSC one^_^ When I saw them I tossed an Alaska themed bracelet on the stage and Dan stepped on it as he left, then Tristan got it🫀 Man, I really wish I could give Dustie the colors II one T-T

That was a sick fucking set, closest I’ve gotten for a band at a festival ever and it was my tenth time seeing the band.
Setlist was as follows:
Absent Thereafter
Condemned To The Gallows
Selkies
The Future is Behind Us

Anybody else in KY tomorrow? They did our boys dirty putting them on at 12:25pm, but I’m still showing up early to show out for em

I know the festival thing isn’t really BTBAM’s scene. There are still 26 slots open on the 70,000 Tons of Metal cruise though, and my buddy and I have booked a room. Anyone think this is something the guys would entertain?
