When the elk gets hunt

I’m so pumped. I’ve worked with this artist on other stuff, but this style is where he really shines. He usually works out of Montreal, Québec in Canada, but this was done at a convention just outside of Ottawa, Ontario. It took 19.5 hours over 3 days.

Grey Alien hand piece I did 8 years ago, back when I was still working at my first studio.

The whole thing was done with a 3RL. I don’t use this technique anymore, but everything healed well.

Later on, we extended the tattoo down onto the fingers.

It features a detailed snake winding through a sharp, intricate thorn branch. I focused heavily on the microscopic scale details and the realistic textures of the snake's scales, while creating a sharp contrast with the solid black thorns to complement the natural curvature of the arm.

It features a dynamic, traditional oriental dragon flowing smoothly around the shoulder and arm. I spent a lot of time on the intricate scale shading to give it a powerful, layered texture, and added a custom red stamp tattoo as a sharp contrast to the solid black and grey work.

It’s a fun, retro-inspired rockabilly skull featuring a classic pompadour hairstyle, sharp sunglasses, and a tied neck scarf. I focused heavily on capturing the bony texture of the skull while creating smooth contrast with the solid black hair and the subtle highlights on the lenses.

We went for a bold yet detailed approach, creating perfectly symmetrical ornamental mandala pieces on both shins. I spent a lot of time on the geometric framing and the soft dotwork shading inside the floral elements to achieve a clean, balanced look that complements the natural line of the legs.
