Would love folk’s thoughts on ways to style my beard. I’m looking to continue growing it longer but also think the sides could use a bit of a trim/fade. What do y’all think?

Have this patch on both sides since day 1. I suspect alopecia.

Any point in continuing growing? I feel like it just gonna keep looking terrible, especially with my thin split moustache lol

When it reaches max fullness will hit up a barber. Any tips on type/shape?

I’ve tried growing my beard several times, but I always reach a point where it gets really uncomfortable (itchy, coarse, hard to deal with) and I lose patience and end up trimming it off.
I’m not sure what style would actually look good on me. One idea I had was to let the chin area grow out more while keeping the mustache a bit shorter and trimmed. Does that make sense, or would you recommend something different?
Any advice on how to push through that difficult stage, what products help, or what shape might suit me better would be really appreciated.

After your advice on my last post I trimmed my beard and used the stronger points of it to make it look better.

Tried going for a short Van Dyke with a shorter beard.

Many of you also suggested I should smile, so I did!

My stache and goatee never really joined as seen in the first image so I just disconnected them today.

Messed up my beard line the other night and had to do some trimming. Thoughts on this look? Can’t tell if it looks goofy or not.. maybe I should just go no beard?

Based on the comments on my previous post I decided to trim my beard. Happy to say that it went well, I think the before/after pictures speak for themselves! Still curious what you guys think.

My beard is still quite patchy at 34yo. I grow a goatie and sideburns but every thing else is just patchy mutton chops. Should I keep cracking on with it and hope it grows to fill the space or give up on the beard? This is about 6-8 weeks of growth.

I’m not sure exactly how long I’ve been growing my beard. I don’t think it’s been three months yet, but it's almost there.

As you can see, the cheek area is bad. I have enough coverage, but the hair doesn't grow the way it does on my sideburns, mustache and chin.

I’m thinking of giving up, it’s been like this for a long time. I do see some progress, but is very slow. I'm losing hope.

What do you think? Is there any hope? Is there anyone with the same pattern? Anyone to give me hope?
