Largemouth 1 hour session gone right 💪🏾🎣.
Happy Thursday Reddit Fam 👊🏾. C
I came back out to the spillway today a little later than expected. First cast was at 12:01 noon last cast was at 1:00. I was back at the truck by 1:02.
Didn’t think I was going to get any bites today because they turned the pump off last night but when I got up this morning and looked, it showed that one side had been opened up a little. Got hung on the first cast and had to walk along the rocks to retrieve it next cast. I hit the small one on the plopper on the next cast. After about five minutes, I decided to change up to a jerk Bait that I had just taken off the wall before I left the house and haven’t finished with in over a year. Was talking to my win on the phone and on the second cast it got slammed in the middle of the current 4.14 pounds. Didn’t get another bite for about 25 minutes and then I started throwing the panorama swim bait second toss along the same Bank line that I hit the first fish I got slammed again right before I took the swim bait out of the water. 5.2 pound fatty. Didn’t get any more baits after that and called it at one.
Freaking Thankful Thursday For Sure.

First ever Large Mouth
I spent a day and a half fishing this pond while camping. Pulled my first Large Mouth ever. I was too excited to remember to weigh but she was huge!

My best PR 3.88lbs!
- Daiso 7' rod (i think its like a medium-light)
- Daiso 18lb braid with 8lb mono leader
- Daiwa Crossfire spinning reel
- 3.5" swimbait on a weighted screwlock hook.
I usually fish my HOA Pond after work, few times a week. Usually catch 1 to 1.5lbs with small swimbait/paddletails on my Daiso rod or my ultralight rod, since thats what they seem to like. Today was a really windy day so i wasnt expecting much but to my surprise this guy showed up! around 3.88 lbs give or take but I was stoked, i don't think i'll be seeing a fella this big again for a while.

First Time Fishing My Neighborhood Pond
Title pretty much explains it. Ive lived here for about a year and a half but i recently started fishing about 5 months ago and have never actually fished the pond thats in my neighborhood. Well this morning I decided to give it a try after seeing a kid pull a pretty solid bass out of there a few days ago. And as you can see I had a ton of success!
I was out there from 7am to about 9:30am and pulled out 7 bass one with a top water frog and the rest using a jointed minnow jerkbait. Ive honestly never had much success bass fishing. before today i had caught maybe 6 bass in the span of 2-3 months, I actually kind of took a break from it and switched over to targeting crappie and bluegill which I love because once you find the right spot you can pull them up left and right. but after today i definitely want to get back into bass fishing. Watching them blow up on my lure was actually crazy it was like every 3-5 cast i was getting some type of blowup on my bait.
Again I haven’t been fishing for long so dont grill me ik my setup sucks. I was running a MH Uglystick GX2 rod with a shimano fx2500 spinning reel that I took off my first shimano combo I bought from academy😂😭 If you guys have any good budget friendly spinning rod and reel recommendations that would be good for bass and crappie fishing pls lmk lol

Largemouth A Quiet Day on the Reservoir
Monday was a public holiday in Spain, so I headed out for a full day of bass fishing. The reservoir was almost completely empty. Just me, the water, and the occasional sound of wild goats moving through the woods.
I started with a Z-Man Fatty on a Texas rig and a senkos (different length) . The Senko got nothing, and I lost a good fish on the Fatty. After trying a few craws without success, I switched to an old favourite: the Ika, in both Fat and Big.
That did the trick.
My first bass came around 10 am. at 1.5 kg (3.3 lb), followed by a 2 kg (4.4 lb) fish around 12:30. The bite picked up from there and continued until about 4 p.m.
By the end of the day, I’d landed 10 bass, including five big ones, and lost three more good fish.
The weather was unusual for this reservoir. A chilly 13°C (55°F) morning, sunshine, and almost no wind until 3 p.m. Normally, strong winds arrive around midday and last until sunset. The wind finally picked up, but this time it didn’t seem to make much difference to the fishing.
Honestly, the best part might have been the silence. No people, no noise — just the reservoir and nature around me.
Sometimes, you need a day like this to switch off and recharge, this exactly what I wanted and why I’m going fishing.
Peace.
P.S. weight on the scale is in KG!

Help I need help
I took apart my reel to service it first time ever doing this and I put it back but instead of feeling smoother it feels stiffer the drag star doesn’t work and I just want someone close to Jersey who services reels to help a brotha out I’ll pay for someone to service it clean off the parts and oil and grease I have both from Daiwa please help I’ve had 7 aneurysms in the past 4 days between sausage fingers and just not knowing how things go I just kept getting angrier.

Help Is this a hybrid?
Caught this guy this morning and was wondering if this was a hybrid or just a small mouth. The head and fight was like a smallmouth, but stripes on his belly resemble a striped bass. He ate a diezal minnow swim jig almost 2/3 its size.

Largemouth Quick 30 minutes Spillway Session.
Happy Humpday Fam. Got out to the spillway around 7:40 this morning. Trying to beat the ☀️before it got disrespectful lol. I haven’t gotten a bass out of here in the last 6 times I’ve come over the past 2 1/2 weeks.
Was just about to call it for this spot but decided to give the plopper one last go. Landed 2 in less than 15 minutes. Tried for about 5 more minutes and the ☀️ broke through the clouds. Needless to say i grabbed my rods and was outtta there.

Largemouth 4lb+ beauty was pushing 5. Shallow square bill for the W!
I absolutely love the bite on a crankbait. They absolutely inhale the square bills during this time of year!! Cheers folks
