Xero Shoes here. Thanks for explaining what you valued in each pair: the Sunrise's light, packable design and everyday look, and the Aqua X's trail tread. Your drainage feedback is helpful too. The Pagosa's slipper styling isn't what you're looking for, so suggesting it as an exact substitute would miss the point.

Doubt it'll really be effective, but as long as it's a good enough substitute for the V-Aqua (loved how quickly it dried), I'd consider it (my V-Aqua is falling apart).

Scramkey, Trailope (regular), and Spidrwalk seem like decent alternatives for wet conditions.

I just bought a pair and didn't like the fit. I told customer service that I wanted to return them. Their return policy is a no-return policy. They said I can return them to an address in China at my own expense. The shoescosts $69. I would have to pay almost that much to return the shoes to an international address in China. It's not worth it. They know that. The return policy is one that cheerfully discourages returns. I am not a happy camper.

Depends how you define "barefoot."

If I can still wear zero-drop/minimalist stuff like Merrells or whatever, then yeah, sure. I don't have to run "true" barefoot necessarily to feel like I'm still better off than wearing 14 oz of padding on each foot.

$4-5million maybe? Enough to comfortably retire 20 years ahead of schedule.

Hell, add another zero and I'd even be prepared to give up on minimalist footwear altogether. My family could benefit from that for generations. Seems a bit silly to put that against something as personal as barefoot running.

Hell yes there is. There's an amount of money that would let you amputate my feet too.

There's an amount of money that would make me do just about anything (except hurt people).

The problem I had was that in deep snow, it would collect at my ankle and melt into my foot. Or maybe my foot was sweating idk. Winter isn’t much of a thing where I live (SoCal) but I do occasionally like to visit the colder places.

That feeling can be normal when switching to zero-drop shoes

have a pair of those, VFF lontra.
absolutely waterproof , but only use them in winter , in below zero temperatures
you need to size up if you find some.
the rest of the year i prefer the normal VFF, if i get wet feet i just wear dry socks after the run

I know, but we’re a decade later now. Maybe this time the result is a little bit better. I wanna try at least.
