Discussion With pro, I can't use Argon anywhere outside the chat window, right?
At least not in the Google ecosystem. I'm new to vibecoding but Gemini Cli is outdated and in Antigravity I need the Ultra plan. What do you guys use?
r/Bard • u/Gabriel_soul • 8h ago
Other Argon was consuming 4% per message first day. Now its up to 18% for each simple message. Even on low now, instead of high. Is it only me?
Although i genuinely love the model

Discussion Issues with accessing Gemini Argon
Argon 4 isn't working at all on the official website today. I keep getting the error "Something went wrong (1)." Are you experiencing the same thing? Pro subscription.

Discussion Put your complaint about the new limits on their official DISCORD.
Would make more "noise" there than here, they have a suggestion channel there.
I already opened a post:

Discussion humans are so ugh
Honestly... wtf? "I wish they hadn't released Argon because it's used up after ~10 prompts", "Release Gemini 4 Flash because 2 prompts isn't enough", "Argon sucks compared to Opus 5.5" - these are all legit titles. Except maybe the last one. I'm day drinking. But wtf? Gemini 3.8 flash in antigravity on medium effort does anything I ask it to, and even when it messes up (by a hair), all I have to do is tell it what is wrong and it's like "aha!". WTF is wrong with you people? For $20 a month, I have a genius on my payroll with practical unlimited hours of work. Fck off. Buy a subscription to your favorite and just shut up. I'm quite happy.

Discussion Argon SVG Pelican Test (Terrible Results and Usage)
galleryI'm a Pro subscriber since Bard first came out.
I did the obligatory "SVG Pelican" test so you don't have to - with Argon. You can check my post history and see the amazing results I got with 3.8 Flash not too long ago btw!
Anyway, I'm extremely disappointed by the results, and I know this isn't a great benchmark, but it just did so poorly... I tested it on High, Medium, and Low effort.
The High effort (only one prompt) took 19% of my 5 hour quota!! And the result was horrible (much worse than 3.8 flash). All 3 tests (high, medium, low) consumed 51% of my 5 hour limit. Just 3 prompts.. and all 3 results were objectively horrible.
For reference, 3.8 flash on High with the same prompt consumed only 1% of my usage! And got much better results.... How does this make sense?
Picture 1: Argon High Result
Picture 2: Argon High usage after first test (19% consumed)
Picture 3: Argon Low result
Picture 4: Argon Low usage after 2nd test (another 15% consumed)
Picture 5: Argon Medium Result
Picture 6: Argon Medium Usage (another 17% consumed)
Picture 7: 3.8 flash High Result
Picture 8: 3.8 Flash usage (only 1% used!!)
This makes no sense to me, and the usage limits are completely broken on Argon.
Yeah I know it's a silly test, but still incredibly disappointing for multiple reasons (results and insanely nonsensical limits usage).
I did one final test on 3.1 Pro High (results also bad) and it used 9% of my 5hour limit. I'm not adding those screenshots to the post but that's also an insane amount of usage for the 3.1 pro model which I used to be able to use without any worries for hours on tasks.
Disappointed.. especially with the crazy limits.

Interesting 4 Argon SVG Results
Reference was a low quality capture.
Results, 95% as expected.
It took 27min
40k tokens
Final results 5k Tokens.

Discussion 5 hours limit meter jumped from 57% to 63% with only "2 images"! WTF google?
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
And it's with 3.8 FLASH on MEDIUM.
If I had used ARGON, I can understand it, but with 3.8 FLASH on MEDIUM and with just 2 damn images!??
Greed made Google lose its mind...🖕

Discussion How much usage do you get out of argon in the $200 tier?
Considering testing it, but currently with Opus 5.5 usage being almost functionally unlimited in the $200 I wanted some impressions from other people before jumping myself

Discussion 4 Argon on Web App is Horrendous
It routinely breaks and fails to respond on longer/hard prompts. It will think for 10 minutes and all of a sudden time out and lose progress. This has happened many times. This never happens with Claude or chatGPT. Google really really sucks.

Promotion Testing Gemini 4 Argon? A quicker way to clean up throwaway chats
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
With Argon rolling out, there’ll probably be a lot of one-off test conversations sitting in people’s sidebars.
I maintain Gemini Chat Quick Delete. It adds a trash icon next to each conversation so you can delete that chat directly, without opening the menu or confirming another dialog.
Clicking the icon deletes the chat immediately, so save anything you want to keep first.
If you try it, I’d like to hear whether the button feels natural in Gemini’s sidebar.
