I was at the Phoenix airport (still am) getting pushed in a wheelchair (I have PD) through the huge crowd. I looked up and there they were, like 12 inches away, waiting in a line, looking at 7:00 am like the glamorous rock stars they are. Miku saw my Band-Maid shirt, smiled and waved, pointed to her own shirt, nudged the others, and gave me a "well, aren''t you lucky?" smile. As I rolled past they all smiled and waved. The chair turned and rolled around them on the other side; I opened my mouth to say something in Japanese, and my mouth just stayed open lol. Total fail. I didn't want to make a scene, so I didn't bug them for a picture or anything, I just grinned like an idiot and turned beet red. The airline guy pushing the chair was mystified, said who are they? I managed to say "the best rock band in the world" loud enough for them all to hear me, and I got another smile from everybody. Then I rolled away. Man, I was having a rough morning, but now I'm not feeling a thing 😀

Riding home from the L.A. show I was sober but buzzing. I remember telling my wife that it was impossible to be in a bad mood after that show.

I have a problem with my ears that makes hearing clearly impossible (something about the pressure waves from loud sounds disrupting my hearing, so the sound is distorted even with quality ear protection), but even so the joyousness came through just fine and was overwhelming.

I may never go to another concert to avoid further damaging my hearing, but now I can watch the YouTube videos and know the vibe isn't fake. They really are happy girls who rock the **** out, just like they seem.

Some snaps from the Wiltern show last night. Amazing energy. My 7th time seeing them.
Personal nitpick was that the guitars needed to be turned up and EQ’d in the mix better. It was very obvious once Mike E started playing with them and the rhythm filled out. Misa and Akane sounded massive though. Misa’s switch to Aguilar in recent years was a good choice!
