How are we feeling about a shift to a 24 team playoff?
On the one hand, I really like the 12 team playoff, and think 16 should be the max.
24 teams will make the CCGs completely useless (I've heard they would be completely erased) which makes me sad. It also will make the regular season less interesting for the blue bloods who usually win 10-11 games, but more interesting for the 10-2 or 9-3 Big 12 teams.
It would be great to see more teams that have never had a shot in the playoff, and the top 8 teams would have playoff games on campus which I love. If the season ended today, 5 BIG XII teams would be in the playoff which is awesome.
So I'm somewhere in the middle on it.
What do we think as BYU fans?

BYU Need To Get Students Access to Football and Basketball Games
BYU needs to do a better job of getting their students access to football and basketball games. They make them buy a ROC pass and pay the money just for a lottery to get a chance to go to games. They are students. Get them into games. Quit selling out and providing fewer seats to students so you can make more money. The university and church have more money than they know what to do with. It’s embarrassing and gives the church a bad look. Get students into the games. Maybe it’s time to expand the stadium if students can’t get tickets.

Honestly a tough call for me

Who's your guess for College Gameday guest picker?
My guess is AJ Dybantsa. If not him, Steve Young.

Best way to record Saturday night's game against ND on television?
Heya there Cougar Nation!
I checked the schedule on the BYU Cougars mobile app for this Saturday's big matchup against Notre Dame, and it looks like the game is set to broadcast on ABC4.
Unfortunately, I might stumble upon a conflict during part of the game and won’t be able to watch it live due to it. I want to make sure I get a clean recording of the broadcast, but I wanted to check with you all first to see what the best method is.
Which is even extremely worse I don’t have an actual DVR hooked up to the Philips TV under the window (which is not a smart TV)
How are you planning to record the game?
Thanks in advance and Go Cougs! ⚪️🔵

ROC Pass Idea
Saw this idea on Cougarboard and liked it:
Students are guaranteed 3 or 4 games (based on supply/demand) per season.
Everyone who buy a pass gets the same number (whether it's 3 or 4) of guaranteed games.
Students learn which 3 or 4 games they are guaranteed at the start of the season.
Students with more seniority get better seating group assignments for the games they are selected for.
Also set aside a fixed number of ROC tickets for every game that, before each game, are awarded via a last-chance lottery that:
- requires student opt-in each game AND
- increases lottery odds for: other sport/campus engagement, seniority, returning unused guaranteed tickets
- decreases lottery odds for: no-showing for a guaranteed game
Providing students...
> the same number of guaranteed tickets,
> game assignments in advance, and
> a lottery to win/earn additional game attendance based on involvement
would be a massive improvement for all students while still leaving the Athletic Department the flexibility to seasonally determine the ideal number of guaranteed games and lottery tickets.

Anyone else think Bear’s passing is being greatly underrated by most people?
I keep seeing analysts and people previewing the game against ND saying how they’ll shut down the run with LJ out, and Bear will need to beat them with his arm, which he won’t be able to do. Saying that he won’t be able to make tight window throws. Prior to ISU this weekend I might’ve agreed.
However, watching his throws last week? He was unreal. Hands down his best passing performance I’ve ever seen of him. He made numerous throws that were right between defenders, in tight coverage, or right in the spot they needed to be. (Except that one Kasper throw he was behind on.) BYU had multiple drops in that game too, but that doesn’t take away from Bear putting it in the perfect spot.
I’m not saying that this game won’t be hard, it really will be an immense challenge. However, I think Bear has the chance to really show the nation what he’s about and what he can do. Thoughts?

First BYU game
I plan on driving from California to Utah Friday night to watch the Notre Dame vs BYU game. This would be my first BYU football game. Looking for any recommendations on places to stay and/or watch the game. Hoping ticket prices will drop by then or I can find a ticket out there.

Stadium Comms Need to be Fixed
On Friday Iowa State mentioned in the post game that they lost comms in the second half and had to bring their coordinators down to the field.
This article mentions that BYU was having helmet comms issues throughout the game, part of which caused Bear to call the wrong play on 4th down in the red zone.
Frankly, with a program of our caliber, that is unacceptable. I hope they have many people figuring this out.

Anyone driving from BYU/Provo to Southern California after the Notre Dame game Saturday (Oct. 17)?
I'm looking for a ride to Redlands, San Bernardino, Riverside, Ontario, or anywhere nearby immediately after the BYU–Notre Dame game Saturday night.
I'm planning to stay until the game ends and would love to leave Provo around 9:30–10 PM. Happy to help pay for gas and take turns driving if needed!
If you or anyone you know is already heading down to Southern California that night, please message me. Thanks!

I come in peace
ND fan here in peace, just wanted to talk some shop because I’m so stoked for this game. Below is my stance and thoughts on this game from my perspective. I’d like to hear how you guys view what I bring up and what other things yall are thinking about! looking to keep this respectful, talk some ball, learn some new things. Thanks guys, best of luck Saturday!
What I’m worried about:
Offense- is the ND run game that we’ve seen the last couple weeks real? BYU run defense will be legit as we see. Can we continue to protect Carr and can receivers consistently get open? I think the OL will have a solid game, but we need a receiver who isn’t faison to show up against a good team, we’ve yet to see that
Defense- Bear reminds me a lot of Riley Leonard. Limited passer but will show solid flashes, monster with his legs who will drag 3 defenders as he picks up 12 more yards. Can we contain him and force him to get through his progression? I think so, but I am very worried about the BYU TEs.
What I’m confident about:
Offense- Carr and Faison is like death and taxes, so so dependable and hard to stop. Carr should take care of the football and be overall dependable, never seen him have a bad game really. OL should be able to protect him pretty well and should be able to get a decent push on plays. Limiting negative plays should be a strength
Defense- We have bodies to throw at you on the DL and should be able to wear you down as the game goes on. I think we can slow down your RB run game. If moore is playing, that effectively takes one of your best receivers out of every play. We will tackle well and play disciplined football
Other- the environment will be tough, but freeman teams play well in big games and on the road. he will have them locked in. I know sitake will do the same with BYU and is a great coach himself
Thinking this should be a very fun game! Thanks for having me here!
