I'm considering getting my girl a natural fiber wig, and I'm not sure what fiber to go with?

I see a lot of collectors talk about alpaca and mohair, and I know a little about the two from knitting, but that's different from a wig.

What's the pros and cons for each?.

What do you prefer and if you got pictures I'd love to see!

When I first saw Dustbunny's 3d printed dolls on Insta I was blown away. They were so cute, and her body with the scrolls and little drawers in the stomach was so interesting and creative! One of the drawers is lockable!

I ordered a fullset, which came with a ton of stuff. Wig, face up and body blushing, 3 pairs of hands, 3 pairs of feet (ballet, heels, and flat), 2 pairs of eyes, 2 sets of underwear, a key for her drawer, and one for in her back, and a bunch of knee ornaments (which I keep forgetting to put on).

She has been at my house for a few weeks now while I figured out what kind of outfits would suit her. This set from Mori Time on Etsy works really well. Super cute and you can see a lot of her details.

Does anyone got an idea how I could make her hair stay down like that..?

i’m so proud of how her wig turned out, the bangs look better than i imagined! she doesn’t have her dress yet since i’m waiting for my mom to finish sewing it, but she looks so beautiful already!! but she’s stuck in those shoes forever since i physically cannot take then off without damaging either her feet or the shoes..

this is going to be my very first bjd. I massively underestimated the space I needed and while making the foil I was worried it would be too thin so now the measurements and everything has changed. Should I proceed with this or leave it?

My DoDollsDream Miss Ursula came home today after a suuuuuper long layaway, I’m so happy with her! Pretty much all her planned garb is still with a different order but even with hand-me-downs and make-do’s she looks so good.

I will say, as cute as she is, probably the hardest to string doll I’ve ever had. She was shipped disassembled to save on shipping, which was worth it, but man I’m going to be nursing blisters for days.

Hi all! I'm a US-based doll fan and I've been thinking about making mohair wigs, so before I go any further I'd love to hear from people who actually buy them. No shop, no links, just trying to learn.

- Where do you usually buy wigs? (Etsy, Taobao agents, doll company sites, conventions, Facebook/Instagram sellers, somewhere else?)
- What's a price you're happy to pay for a good mohair wig, and what feels too expensive?
- What annoys you most when buying wigs? (sizing, long shipping, shedding, photos not matching, etc.)
- Is shipping from inside the US something you'd care about, or do you not mind waiting?

Okay so!! I’m thinking about buying a second angelphilia. As the market is rn i can’t absolutely think about buying an original angelphilia body, so i was wondering, which other body is the best option? My first angelphilia uses a raven II body so i’d prefer something else for diversity. I know everyone recommends ob50 but i’ve heard different opinions on this. Some says the neck would be too long and i cant find pictures to understand if that statement makes sense or not 😭 what did you guys use?

Hello all, I was given a bjd and fell in love, but I'm very scared of make something that can not be undone. I want to make the makeup and shading in its body, but what if I don't like it? Can anyone give me some tips, maybe links and tutorials...

I'm thinking about printing a bjd (I have a resting printer) just to do the tests... Also, I'm new in reddit, discovering how it works yet, and English isn't my first language, please be nice ❤️

I re-re-re-re tried doing my Volks face up!!
The 2nd and 3rd photo are the inspiration, and the result is the first photo, with the rest (except the last) showing the process.

I was going for that simple, early Volks face-up. My doll already had a original volks makeup( last photo) but because it was bought second handed and the previous owner seemed to have dones Fsc face up option, it did not really match with my taste.

The fascinating thing I found, is that the early volks face mold has a curved in eyebrows. A shame that I cannot change the eyebrow shape, but it makes it 100% easier to draw them.

I wish I could have used acrylics or watercolor for the solid eyelines and lashes but I am still not confident with liquid materials.

However, I think it turned out better than my last attempt, and I understand why Volks gave these dolls such a simple makeup. The face mold already has a very defined eye shape, so a simple makeup helps the features to show.

For coloring, I used the same shade for the eyelines, lashes and the eyebrow (as I have noticed it in the inspo pics). And purple-ish light pink on the lips and the cheeks.

If I were to redo her face-up, I would choose more of an organge shade for the lips and the cheeks because her body has yellowed, so maybe a warmer tone fits her better.

Now I need more hairs, and maybe a darker eyes. I really want a high quality SD 13 clothings but I CANNOT find them in europe!! I saw Mercari but the taxes and shipping fee adds too much cost

How do y'all deal with the long wait times inherent in this hobby? I'm not a particularly patient person (working on it!) and have only gotten blind box bjds up until now, but after saving up I ordered a fullset around a month ago (Gem of Doll Bernier) and am looking into a second fullset (Asleep Eidolon Lulu). However, the thought of waiting so long for them has been making me feel frustratingly anxious. Anyone go through something similar and have any advice that could be helpful?

I've ordered a couple of MSD heads that I'm planning to pair with a 1/6 size body since I prefer that size. I found a few bodies in different materials that I like on Aliexpress that are reasonably priced. I'm in the US so kind of limited on where I can buy from. I have two questions:

1. Has anyone else made a hybrid doll with a resin head and PVC body? How did it turn out?
2. Are these bodies legit? If not, any recs on where I can find similar ones that are? Brands in order are BabyBell, Jam doll, and CF doll.

Today was a LONG day
I gave three attempts to give a new look for my second handed volks doll (sculpt: f-04). The original face-up (last photo) looked good already but I was dissatisfied with the purple-ish eyeshadow and the overall dull color theme.

The second last photo is my final attempt. Could not use pastels because I KEEP messing them up so only possible method was using color pencils. This is my first attempt so I am “okay” with the final outcome (the second last photo) but will probably end up continuing to develop it.

I was a bit worried at the beginning because I am technically removing the original Volks makeup, but honestly idk I will do what I feel like it.

Btw the first photo looks really really scary.
