What Changes in a Person After Ayahuasca?
**We’ve been part of 300+ retreats. Here’s what people rarely talk about.**
People often come to an ayahuasca retreat hoping to experience something extraordinary.
A vision. An answer. A breakthrough. A moment that finally makes everything make sense.
But after more than 10 years of working with people and helping organize retreats, we’ve become interested in something else.
**What happens when the ceremony is over, the music stops, and you return to your ordinary life?**
That’s where the real questions begin.
Can you be honest with yourself when nobody is guiding you?
Can you change a pattern you’ve repeated for years?
Can you sit with an uncomfortable truth without immediately trying to turn it into a spiritual lesson?
We’re David and Anna, the founders of DAVIANNA Retreats. We’ve accompanied people from different backgrounds on journeys through shamanic traditions, in Spain and beyond.
And we’ve learned that an extraordinary experience and lasting change are not the same thing.
We don’t believe every difficult moment is a message from the universe. We don’t believe one ceremony can solve everything. And we’re skeptical of anyone who promises you a completely new life in a few days.
What interests us is the person who returns home and begins asking better questions, making different choices, and taking responsibility for their own life.
That’s the kind of work we care about.
We host small retreats in Spain, surrounded by nature, for people who want to explore these questions in a thoughtful, carefully prepared setting.
**Here’s something we’d genuinely love to hear from people who have explored this path:**
What changed you more — the extraordinary experience itself, or what you had to face when you came back to everyday life?
