Any fans of the Golden Age of Air Racing?

My grandpa was always aviation-mad. He became an Airframe and Powerplant mechanic in the 1930s. He used to have scale models of a lot of the Thompson Trophy planes, plus a few others like the Macchi-Castoldi MC.72 and Curtiss R3. He told me a lot about those planes.

When I was a kid, my favorite of course was the Gee Bee Model R1.

I've learned a bit more since then, of course.

So, any other fans of 1930s air racing?
