How do you deal with Katara? Feels like her high low mixups on her normal strings are insane its just a 50-50 chance if I get combo'd or not. She seems to also be able to spam her level 4 super which is a hard knockdown then its just another 50-50 to determine if you get immediately put into a 2nd combo. I genuinely believe some of these level 4 supers should cost more meter. In addition to the mixups as Sokka it feels all her attacks are faster and have more range than Sokkas and she has good low sweeps and high sweeps to stop entry from both air or down flow. Whats the strategy against her? I only started to run into her now that im in the 1500-1600 range and get spanked everytime.

i have some general ideas about videos (montages, cool clips, long sets, tourney runs etc) but is there anything specific that people wanna see? it can be anything let me know!

I bought the game on release and played a little but decided to wait a bit and let updates flesh out the content. Specifically in regard to difficulty settings.

Now I see that you are invincible in the story mode? Is there any way to turn this off?

Context is that I'm still relatively new to fighting games but not bad, I'm Diamond 3 in strive and on my way up win rate wise.

This game interests me a lot, but reading the wiki wasn't super enlightening on who I might want to play.

My main in guilty gear is Lucy and I'm looking for at least some of these traits that she has, in order of importance

1. Big fuck off poke normals that easily convert (when I say easily I don't necessarily mean "easy" but I hate nothing more than hitting a stray poke and having not much I can do with it)

2. Being able to convert into something that gives me advantage from most buttons I hit, anything from simple meaty/grab/reversal bait Oki to real setups, doesn't matter but after converting off my big pokes its not necessarily neutral reset

3. High mobility seems like a function of most of the cast from what I can tell but I'll put it here.

Things I am ok with having as downsides of my character

1. Low mix potential/playing more of a stagger pressure/strike throw game than a crossup or high low mix game

2. Low hp. I'm whatever on being squishy

3. Resource management

Other things to note :

This might be an impossible task I dunno, but I'm not looking for an actual zoner. I emohasize long normals because I enjoy playing midrange/⅓-½ screen footsies and whiff punishing, however I find most actual zoners with the explicit goal of keeping people out boring

Characters of preliminary interest from looking at the wiki : tell me if these are good or bad ideas based on what I've expressed above

1. Katara seems to fit my big fuck off normals/footsies playstyle the best at first glance, however I've seen people saying she's extremely difficult and technical, what does that mean in practicality?

2. Basic bitch Korra. Doesn't have my big fuck off normals but she's the shoto. I like shotos, and she has what looks to be the only meterless DP to boot. Does she play more of a high low or a stagger/strike throw game in matches?

3. Nightmare korra. Looks to be a higher mobility lower HP version of reg Korra? I'm the least clear but most interested in her. I like the idea of trading HP for mobility (that's what Lucy does in strive), but does she still end up playing like a pixie shoto?

IMO the default Aang outfit is a little too red, when his signature color has always been orange. Feels a bit more nostalgic this way, I think.

I keep getting bodied by kyoshi and toph. I dont know how to deal with hyperarmor as I feel Sokkas attacks are too slow to get multiple hits in time. The only attack I seem to be able to break it with js jump B but that seems like the only options as all his specials are one hit attacks and his normal attack string is too slow.

Also I was wondering what other moves in the game have hyper armor? Every time I play against korra I feel like no matter what I do her anti air attack where she says "slow down" gets priority. Ive went into replay and tried timing my attacks earlier but it always seems she gets priority which makes approaching her very hard. Im honestly not sure why hyper armor exists in this game with speed. Atleast with Kyoshi she is slow to compensate. Is there any list of what moves have hyper armor in the game?

I was practing conecting the j.236AB divekick with Juno support when I noticed I could do it without a jump doing a weird half-circle AB (look at the inputs on the left). Although I was able to replicate this a few times, I can't do it consistently. Does someone know why I can do the divekick without pressing up after landing and how do I do it consistently?

I can complete the combo up until the point where I have to do air neutral B, then land jump and do air neutral B again, and I can never hit the 2nd one. I've gotten really consistent with the rest of it, but I can't land that part. I am doing something wrong or is me missing sokka just a sign im not doing the input early enough?

I dont know how to (or if its possible) to setup the dummy to Air Flow Escape as soon as possible during a combo (they only leave when its an obviously fake combo or when they start flashing red)
Can you guys help me to setup the dummy or how you guys train reset (intentional combo drops) in Training Mode?

How would one go about changing the resolution of the game to fit 16:10/be 800p? No launch commands I've found so far have worked, and the config file changes seem to always reset on next boot.

Is anyone else’s lagging crazy in the online lobbies?? We’ve made a lot of different lobbies but it’s still lagging a lot rn

I just got thw game a few days ago and I've been trying to play nightmare korra. I wanted to try her combo trials to get an idea on how her combos work. I've been hard stuck on her second intermediate trial and I'm really not sure what I'm doing wrong nor do I know how to fix it. The main issue is going for the air back down to to the ground with her down C into down flow, and I'm having trouble connecting her standing B after. Often times I try to slow down but end up get frustrated and mashing till I eventually just stop playing altogether.

Is Toph Badgermole bad against Korra or is it a skill issue on my part?

When I play Zuko against Korra it goes pretty well. When I play Toph I get recked. I don't know how to approach because Korra's anti-airs are so good that jB and jC often get caught. She is super fast so if I am not aggressive she gets in and all her moves are either fast or hit more than once so armoring through them isn't effective.
