Good Review Vice Logistics Great Experience

Joel set up my move and it was picked up and delivered a day earlier than requested. Everything happened electronically and the price was right.

I asked up front about any possible extra charges and they told me the contingencies that could cause extra charges, but there were none.

Great experience start to finish.

I Ship Cars 3,047 of the 4,948 brokers we've audited are fully Verified. 229 are flagged Caution, 927 are High Risk. Check yours before you pay a deposit: verifycarcarrier.com

  1. A 90-second FMCSA lookup shows a broker's license status, complaint history, and bond status. Most people skip it. https://verifycarcarrier.com/blog/broker-license-verification
  2. Roughly 1 in 5 brokers in our audit database is currently flagged Caution or High Risk. That's not a small number.
  3. If a broker won't give you their MC number without you asking twice, that's your answer.
  4. "Fully insured" means nothing without a policy number and an insurer name. Ask for both.
  5. The auto transport industry runs on people who don't know FMCSA records are public. That's the whole business model for some of these brokers.
  6. Broker calls you 45 minutes after your quote with a price $200 lower "if you book today." That's not a deal, that's a script.

General/Other Process for fixing minor damage during transport

Hi all, I just bought a car and had it shipped down to me. I used a broker who is basically useless and disappeared as soon as the load was booked, figures as much. The transporter left their ratchet straps flapping around and rubbed raw spots through the paint on both side skirts. One of them needs fiberglass work and paint, the other likely just paint. I'd guess it's a $1000 repair roughly if they can smooth the one side skirt well, maybe $1500 if I need a new skirt.

I'm in Texas if that matters. I got their COI and called their cargo insurance (Great American) to verify it was active before releasing the car to them. I also have the car on Hagerty myself($2500 ded though) and called them to confirm that they do cover me on any damages done in transit, and they'd go after the shipper's insurance on the back end. I did make sure to note the damage on the BOL while signing.

The driver told me to reach out to their dispatch so I emailed them the photos, but haven't heard back yet. Do these companies seem to prefer to pay cash for repairs to avoid the insurance claim? I don't remember their deductible but assume it is close enough to the cost that they may not want to bother. If they don't want to do that, do I just file a claim with their insurance directly and hope they cover me? Thank you for any advice here!

Quote Request Shipping car from Albany to Austin

Hey yall, I’m trying to ship my car from Albany to Austin. What company should I go with that has good prices and good service? I know prices are going to be higher because diesel is up, and I can wait a few weeks. Been shopping around for quotes and I’ve seen 1600-1900 but I’m honestly not trying to spend more than 1200 on this. Also is there any other insurance I should add for this?

Quote Request 75039 to 02532 shipping cost

Looking to ship my older CRV however the quotes I’m getting are too wide in variety. What’s the average quote for this route and how is the cost calculated? Afraid of the bait and switch, car getting damaged or not arriving. Don’t care about how long it takes. Just need it delivered for the price quoted and safely. Any company recommendations? I’ve lurked through a lot of posts on here and basically each company has some terrible reviews. Trying to find a company/broker for now that’ll help me in the future too with multiple moves around the country every year with my new job.

Thanks for the help

Quote Request McKinney TX to Tysons VA?

Hi I’m considering a vehicle purchase. I need to bring my vehicle from McKinney TX (75071) to Tysons VA (22182). Ideally would need the vehicle to be delivered on Saturday 10/17.

If that’s not possible it’s okay. I’m just looking for a quote. Ready to move on it if the numbers work out.

Looking for info What to expect? Who to avoid?

I am shipping my car from Wilsonville, OR, 97070 to Boynton Beach, FL, 33426. and I will ship it on Nov 22. Is 5 weeks out too far in advance to try and get quotes? One broker message I got seemed to hint that if I try and book later, I am more likely to get a better price.

I also want to know how much I should expect price-wise. The quotes I have gotten vary so much in price. Trying to figure out what is realistic and what isn't/

Finally, who are the companies I need to avoid? Particularly, the bait and switch. I don't want to mess with that. I just want the real price.

Car specs:
16 ft long × 6.1 ft wide × 4.8 ft high
2021 four-door midsize sedan
3,150–3,400 lb
car is operable

General/Other Adding my voice to the "NO" for Montway

Title says most of it. The only part of this that was smooth or positive was booking the shipment and giving them my money.

Support team is rude and acts like you're annoying them if you call - when you can even get one instead of "Monty" their useless AI bot.

Got passed between four trucking companies and the pickup dragged out for two weeks longer than I was told it would.

They paid little if any attention to my windows of avaiability and just booked it whenever they wanted to.

They were not clear that I would have to pay the driver directly to take receipt of the car, which was a PITA because he wanted cash.

Driver was rude, terse, and unhelpful, and forced us to load in the turning lane of a four lane highway and unload in the shoulder of a four lane highway. If you can't maneuver a truck into a giant, empty parking lot somewhere so that the car can be unloaded safely, you shouldn't have a CDL.

Literally every aspect of this was frustrating, difficult, and problematic after we paid the deposit. Go with someone else.
