OK, I think turtle Creek wine in Bethlehem. Georgia has some kind of bourbon event coming up this Saturday. Does anyone know what time it is and how the event works?

I’ve gotten a couple of Bees Knees store picks from Turtle Creek but because I haven’t been out that way for a bit, I decided to “buy local” and headed to McFarland 400 to pick one up. I was very surprised how different these two store picks are from what I understand are sister stores so I thought I’d leave my impressions here.

Both are great bottles. If you want the ultimate honey flavored bottle it’s the one from Turtle Creek. Once you get down to 1/3rd of a bottle it almost turns into honey and gets a bit cloudy. The bottle gets sticky like a real honey bottle and I feared for the cork. Each sip is like a honey cocktail. The McFarland bottle is if you want it to be more bourbon forward than honey. On the nose you can smell the honey on both but on the palette the McFarland bottle is just a great bourbon. I prefer something unique so I prefer the Turtle Creek bottle but that is just my preference.

Hope this encourages some of you to pickup a bottle from one of the stores based on your preference. I almost hate posting this since there were only about 8-10 bottles left at McFarland to the point I had to ask for help finding them. Turtle Creek has more last time I was there, but also probably limited to less than 20 out on display.

In Atlanta for the weekend. Anyone know any great deals or promotions happening at any stores this weekend? Would especially be interested if anyone knew where to get a Russell reserve 13.

I’m almost to the end of my Woodford DO SP bottle and am looking to get another. Does anyone know of any Woodford DO SPs that are not barrel proof and that are still at the original 60-70 ish price point?

Perimeter Costco has CASES of the 2025-03 release for $96 ea. It's well over 100 everywhere else I've seen it recently.

Any suggestions on groups or sites to get rid of some bottles?

Saw one of these earlier, cask strength from a “legendary legacy Kentucky distillery”. What really piqued my curiosity is that on the sign, it said “mash bill #1”. Could they be referring to buffalo trace? If that’s the case, 23 year old cask strength of that would be wild.

I’m not in a spot to pay $599 for any whiskey but could be a good deal for some of y’all!

108 proof 10 year, been dying to snag one of these! They must have been holding on to this one for a little bit before putting it out as I’m pretty sure these were dropped last year. Smells divine but I’ll have to wait till later to actually taste it.

It seems in years past you could come across special sales or drops around Atlanta. I really have not noticed any this year so either I just missed them, there has been a change and stores don’t do those anymore, or my memory is just defective about past years.

Been to three or four stores and have yet to see either. Anybody remember seeing either of these anywhere recently?

1 per no matter which hole you wanted. I got hole 2 and cracked. Solid toasted sipper but the cool bottle is the highlight of it.
