Meme/Shitpost The team just needed more time, y'all!

• Upvotes

Great news, fam. We're Inter Miami's kryptonite, Chicago Fire are streaky, Toronto have only beaten Montreal in their last five and prefer to draw everyone, NYCFC have only won 1 in their last 12 matches which was vs. RSL who have won 1 in their last 13 matches, and Red Bull's 3 wins in their last 11 were against Columbus, NYCFC, and San Diego who haven't won in 7 straight.

ATLUTD gonna make the playoffs, everything will be fixed, and then we can do this all over again! Isn't that super?

Dicussion Chong Qui and Matt Edwards

• Upvotes

We’ve got two academy products who’ve earned more minutes than they’re getting right now and 2 u22s blocking their progression. Dom was in the PRO Best 11 and is a finalist for defender of the year. He proved time and time again hes too good for the 2's and hes better than Baez at 5 years younger. Matt Edwards is our new Ronald Hernandez who doesnt cost us a goal everytime he comes on. Hes played RB, LB, CB, and im sure hes played on the wing late into games. Hes worked his ass off ever since he started getting minutes and shows more passion for the club than any of these South Americans have. They only care when we play Miami which is luckily this weekend. Jacob is only a better shooter than Edwards which is the least important trait for a fullback. Edwards is faster, better link up play, better dribbling, higher game IQ, and he can run all game. Why are we wasting valuable spots on these u22 reject fullbacks. After this season or the sprint season we need to get rid of them and have our homegrown heros to start. Atlanta has a top 5 academy in the Americas, we need to start utilizing it.

ATLUTD 2 Who’s getting rowdy for the 2s tomorrow?

ATLUTD2 are hosting their first-ever playoff match tomorrow, and I’m thinking about heading out. I haven’t been to a 2s match before, but this feels like a hell of a good time to start.
What’s everyone’s plan? Will any of the supporters groups be out there getting chants going? Is there a spot everyone usually gathers, or anything a first-timer should know?
They’re Five Stripes too, and I feel like we should be out there being rowdy and proud for our boys. Let’s give them a proper home playoff atmosphere.

Match info: Friday, October 16, at 6 p.m. against CT United FC at the Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta Training Ground.
Tickets are less than $10 (not including fees)

Hoyos haircut was the answer?

He drops the weirdest mullet and we get a clean sheet and dominant W? Was this the answer the whole time??

(No way it was about the quality of the opponent).

27-28 Season Renewal MESS

Mostly just writing for opinions and thoughts on how I should proceed or just what you think of the situation.

Storytime...

In 2017 I became a Founding Member. Once we moved to MBS from Bobby Dodd, my tickets were in section 131. I have been in section 131 ever since.

In 2019 my daughter was born. When she was 10 weeks old, my wife and I started taking her to all of the home games. Eventually my wife stopped going and my daughter became my person to go with. Over the years, our seat mates and stadium employees in and around our section have become family and literally watched my daughter grow up. She's now 7 years old and soccer obsessed, both watching and playing.

At the end of last season, I made the hard choice not to renew. She was crushed but understood we could still go to most games, just getting tickets the day of and we would most likely no longer be in our section. About a month after I cancelled ATLUTD called and offered me their new Youth Ticket Program to come back. So now my daughter and I would have tickets in our exact same 131 section but her ticket would be half off. I agreed that it made it worth it for us so we agreed to come back.

This summer, the renewal came around for the 27-28 membership bundle. The notice said if I didn't want to make any changes, I didn't need to do anything and it would auto-renew. I didn't want any changes, the price looked right, so I let it renew.

This week the seat relocation window opened. I went to check on seats in 131, kept getting an error, and emailed my rep. That's when I found out the youth ticket now only applies in three sections, and we'd been moved to section 118. I had NO IDEA that when my seats renewed, it was no longer my seats. Looking back, the new section is listed on the invoice, but I never thought to check, because "no changes needed" made it sound like NO CHANGES. I would be renewing my same seats I had already previously been in.

Now I've gone back and forth over email and phone calls with my ticket rep and they're telling me that there is nothing they can do. I can either keep my youth discount and stay in the section they moved me to without informing me OR I have to pay an additional $1,300 to be moved back to my original 131 section that I've been in since 2017. That additional is more than my entire previous invoice had been that I approved. The other option is that they said I could have until Monday to decide if I'd like to cancel my season tickets and they'll give me a full refund. The club has always gone above and beyond to make our experience great and this just seems very off-brand for them. I would spend FAR more money in the stadium on game day beers and food if I'm there than I would if I don't have tickets.

I feel like there aren't too many Founding Members left, so to be treated like this just feels strange. I'm undecided on what to do. Frustrated. What are yalls thoughts on the situation?

TL;DR: Founding Member in section 131 since 2017. The club brought us back last year with a half-off youth ticket for my daughter in our same section. The 27-28 auto-renewal quietly moved us to 118 because the youth ticket now only covers 3 sections. Moving back costs $1,300 more. I have until Monday to cancel for a refund. Frustrated and undecided. Thoughts?

Dicussion Did we not think we could sell out the full stadium with Messi in town?

if we really didn't think they could, that says a MASSIVE amount about where we are for fan interest. At least on TM the 300 section isn't open and I can't see why they wouldn't be selling tickets if it is.

I would think that Messi could sell out 72k on a Saturday pretty much anywhere.

Did they not think they could sell the tickets? Trying to protect the resale value for season ticket holders? Vendor problems?

Some reason I haven't thought of? Just seems like I'm missing something.

Dicussion New badge, same owners. Will things change?

To my fellow ATL UTD fans, especially those who cancelled their season tickets and are now putting down founding member deposits for Atlanta City FC… genuine question: what are you expecting to be different?

Between Reddit, X and conversations at games, I keep seeing people say they’re done giving ATL UTD money because the team has been shit and they’ve lost faith in the front office. Fair. I get the frustration.
But both clubs are under AMBSE, with Mauricio Culebro overseeing both. At ATL UTD, Chris Henderson reports to Culebro, and Jonathan Spector still heads international recruitment under Henderson. Personally, I haven’t seen enough to feel confident that our scouting and roster building problems have been addressed.

I’m not saying Atlanta City will use the same scouts or automatically have the same problems. But if your issue is with the organization and its accountability, not just the results on the field, what makes you trust it more with a new club? Is it wanting to support women’s soccer? Being part of something from day one? Or have you seen something that makes you believe this club will be run differently?

This isn’t a troll post. I’m genuinely trying to understand where the optimism comes from. I’d love for Atlanta City to get it right. I just worry about getting a few exciting years before we’re having the same conversations and getting pissed off about the same shit we’re dealing with at ATL UTD.
