ITP Alon’s bakery- can you buy the Tuscan Hoagie bread there?

I’ve tried calling and talking to multiple people. I’ve gotten varying answers but mostly just that I need to buy it through catering who buys it from their wholesale dept. I cannot get catering to pick up the phone or call me back after leaving a message lol…

Has anyone bought this bread from them? They use it at Monday Night Brewing on their pesto turkey sandwich (they told me they got it from Alon’s, but they only have enough for what they need and won’t sell it separately.)

General Discussion & ?s Dinner at the bar - BoccaLupo or Gigi’s

I’ll be in town on Saturday with one friend. These two Italian spots have been on my list for a while. No reservations for either available but I’m hoping to maybe just get two spots at the bar.

Questions are - are the bar areas at both spots first come, first serve? And if so, is one of these “easier” to get a spot at the bar? I’m assuming the move would be to show up right when they open.

TIA!

BuHi Do people still like Lee’s Bakery? They seem to be overcharging?

I ordered pick up from them recently and they charged me “dine in” prices instead of “to-go” prices (the cheaper price). Why? They don’t have a dine-in option online and I didn’t get delivery. What’s the point of having cheaper to-go prices if you aren’t going to honor them? I have to admit I was disappointed.

General Discussion & ?s San Diego Mexican in ATL

For context, I grew up out west, and the wife and I lived in El Paso for the better part of a decade, where we got to enjoy great Mexican, including hatch green chilis (in hatch, NM).

We also just got back from San Diego where we had amazing tacos and burritos. Is there anywhere in ATL where we can get good southwest Mexican? What about good ingredients or tortillas?

General Discussion & ?s Best hibachi in Atlanta?

It’s been way too long since I’ve had a tasty hibachi meal.

I am not sure where to try and I would like to avoid Benihana.

The more authentic, the better. Bonus points for wagyu options and sushi.

Anyone have a go to spot? Maybe on Buford?

General Discussion & ?s What ever happened to cruller doughnuts?

I remember one of my favorite doughnuts as a kid used to be the kruller (cruller) from Krispy Kreme. They stopped selling them for whatever reason, and now it’s almost impossible to find crullers in general. Maybe I haven’t looked in the right spots? Where are all the crullers?

So far I’ve only found a honey cruller from Tim Hortons (I’m not a fan of honey flavored things). I really just want the same kind as they had at Krispy Kreme. Does anyone remember them or know where I can find some?

General Discussion & ?s Late Night Work Places

Hi! Looking for some places I can do late night editing. I work as a freelance video producer and often want to get out of the house.

I’ve worked out of bars before, but it sometimes can be awkward when I’m there with my headphones on and it’s clearly a “social” bar more than a chill bar. Are there any coffee shops open late (and by late I mean till at least 10-12)?

I tried going to Terminus 72 in marietta but the line was out the door. Not very interested in a coworking space, more a chill bar or coffee spot I can occasionally go to when I need to not be in my office.

There are some previous threads on this, but many are outdated!

General Discussion & ?s New Food App for ATL Foodies!

Post image
0 Upvotes

What is up fellow Atlantan’s! I have been a foodie my whole life and found that the current food apps just don’t cut it— they don’t know you, they can’t adjust for allergens, and they do not have that menu visibility that helps you to figure out what items on a menu are good or not!

That inspired me to build a brand new food app called Nosh! It is made by an Atlanta Foodie for Atlanta Foodies!! I would love to hear your thoughts— totally free to use and my hope is it’s the one food app to rule them all!

Check it out at https://the-nosh.com/download

General Discussion & ?s Dim sum with cart experience

Haven't had dim sum in AGES so three of us are going out for some tonight. We would like to do the authentic cart experience. We've read that Canton House and Royal China are good, but any other suggestions or things we need to be aware for a Saturday evening? TIA

The Consulate review replies?

Love the concept and want to try it out when I'm in town soon, but the owners' responses to reviews are weirdly aggressive. I'd be going by myself and this would be my nice dinner/treat for the trip so would appreciate any info

Buckhead Using MARTA for what it was truly meant for... a bar crawl

September 19th we are doing a bar crawl on the Red Line we're calling Red Line Rampage. Five Points to Buckhead. We have 5 bars on board with MARTA themed Drink specials at each one.

Figured this crowd would appreciate the concept more than most.

If anyone's interested in joining leave a reply or message me and I'll send the details. We will have a cap due to bar capacities but should make for a good event to make friends and explore Atlanta
