I'm your new moderator, Olivia, and I wanted to introduce myself and share a few things I have planned for r/Askromance!

First, I'm excited to be here! I recently took over the abandoned community, and I've decided to give it a little makeover. You may have noticed the new name, The Love Lounge, along with a new look, updated rules, and post flairs.

Don't worry, we're still keeping all the romance book recommendations, discussions, and "help me find this book" posts! But I also want to open the community up to more conversations about love and romance in real life.

Dating, relationships, marriage, breakups, intimacy, crazy love stories, awkward first dates, situationships, and everything in between. If it has anything to do with love or romance, there's probably a place for it here!

So, what do I have planned? 👀

I don't want this to be a community where people only stop by when they need advice. I want us to have fun, get to know each other, and actually look forward to coming back!

Here are a few things I'm thinking about introducing:

Spill the Tea Thursday: Got a crazy dating story? Relationship drama? An unforgettable first date? This will be the place to tell us all about it!

Romance Games & Polls: Would You Rather, This or That, unpopular opinions, and other fun questions about love and relationships.

The Love Lounge Book Club: This is something I'd really love to start if enough people are interested! We could vote on a romance book each month, read it together, and have discussions about the characters, drama, plot twists, and everything else.

Finish the Love Story: I'll post the beginning of a fictional romance scenario, and everyone gets to continue the story in the comments. I'm curious to see where some of you take these stories!

Indie Romance Author Spotlight: I'd also love to support independent romance authors by featuring one indie romance book each month, with the author's permission. It's a fun way to discover new authors and give their stories some love! I'm also an author, so I got you!

A little about what I want for this community...

More than anything, I want The Love Lounge to be a place where people feel comfortable being themselves. Whether you're happily married, single, heartbroken, confused about your situationship, or just here for the romance books, you're welcome.

You don't have to have a perfect love life or the perfect advice. We're all figuring things out!

Of course, we can disagree, have different opinions, and tell each other when we think something is a terrible idea. 😂 Just keep it respectful.
