Education/Career Switching to robotics from geospatial and (remote) sensing machine learning?

Hey y'all, quick question about robotics careers. I currently work as a Machine Learning Engineer, primarily with geospatial and remote sensing data, is there a viable career pivot for me to robotics? I do a lot of the robotics math (particle filtering for multi-sensor tracking, computer vision adjacent stuff (radar, and some more exotic sensing types that are kind of relevant to robotics), and a little bit of edge deployment on satellites). Anyone have any advice for me?

From my experience, your pivot is one of the easiest. Focus on localization problems to practice for interviews. And look for posts where expertise in that domain is helpful: autonomous driving, flying/drones, and large operation area domains (mining, construction, etc.).

Thank you! Will look into these.

These are 2 fields I was looking to pivot into and finally choose robotics. May I ask why you are considering the pivot?

Just cause I think the career potential for robotics is significantly higher, particularly in the commercial world.
