Question ❓ Backpack vs daypack + carry on suitcase

Traveling through Georgia with mashrtuka and train. Mainly staying in Tbilisi and Batumi, but also a 1-2 weeks trip in the mountains for day hikes.

Last time I used a huge backpack and wasn’t really happy with it, so I struggle if I should use a daypack + carry on suitcase
this time.
What do you think?

Places Planning to travel to Georgia with family n kids in December

Hey everyone. I’m from India. I’m hoping that someone amongst us must have visited or planned a trip to Georgia sometime in past.

I’m planning to visit with wife and kids in December. Kind of new year Christmas times.

Any suggestions or past experiences are welcome.

Also I need some input regarding the immigration issue. I do not have US visa on mine or wife’s passport.

Question ❓ Are these developer contracts common and normal?

Are these agreements and articles common when buying apartments from the developers in Georgia?

Couple of years ago I've bought this apartment from the landlord who had agreed with the developer to give his land in exchange of apartments from the project. Before I bought, the apartments were registered in the landlord's name as "owner in future". So when I bought I became the "owner in future". The building now has permit for occupancy (ექსპლუატაციაში) and I want the final registry to be issued, from "owner in future" to the actual ownership.

And the developer firm now want me to sign two separate agreements for that. The agreements are quite harsh, but I get most of it since the project is an apartment complex and they want to maintain strict control as management.

But are these articles common or normal?

Question ❓ Other bands than Bermukha and VIA 75?

გამარჯობა, over the past couple years, I’ve been quite obsessively gathering all pre-1989 Eastern European, former Soviet rock music groups, even included this in my final school paper.

The only 2 groups from Georgia I managed to find from this time period is the underground band ბერმუხა and the state label Melodyia assembled VIA 75, featuring the legendary uzbek pianist Vagif Mustafazadeh.

So, if anyone here has any more knowledge about this, or knows a source of such informations,
I’d love to find out more.

Question ❓ Can someone from Georgia help me plan a holiday ?

Hello, I'm planning a 4 days / 3 nights trip to Georgia and would love advice from someone who actually lives there. I'm based in the UAE and planning to visit Georgia soon.

What I love - mountains and old city culture. Scenic mountain drives, a lil bit of hiking, old towns, historic churches, markets, and good local food.

What I'd love help with:

- Best mountain spots if I only have 1 day (Kazbegi, Gudauri, Ushguli, elsewhere?)

- Old town neighbourhoods and places that aren't touristy

- Authentic local food

- Tips: scams to avoid, SIM cards

If you're a local and happy to chat here or over DM, I'd be really grateful. Thanks 🙏🏻

Question ❓ Georgian Language tutor

Hi,

I’ve been tutoring Georgian for about three weeks now and I’m looking for more people who’d like to practice. I teach from beginner all the way to advanced and adjust everything to the student.

Still offering budget-friendly rates (lower than typical language apps).

Message me if you want to give it a try

Question ❓ Where can I buy a Georgia national team jersey?

Hello everyone, I’m planning a trip to Tbilisi at the end of October. I want to buy a Georgia national team jersey; it’s important to me that it’s authentic, so I’m looking for an official retailer. Naturally, I’d like it to have "Kvaratskhelia" and the number 7 printed on the back. I’d really appreciate it if you could help me find where to get one.

Places Got "trapped" by traffic police — Is appealing a fine realistic as a tourist?

Hello everyone,

I was pulled over today near Vardzia. At an intersection where the road markings were almost completely faded, I made a turn error. Looking back, I understand why it was technically an infraction, but while driving, it was very difficult to figure out the correct exit path.

It felt like a classic turn trap: police officers were parked right after that exit, stopping every car making the exact same mistake (3 cars and 1 minibus got pulled over in 10 minutes). I even laugh with the officer about how everyone was falling into the same trap.

I have a few questions for locals and fellow travelers:

- Can this fine be contested? Is there a realistic appeal process if I provide clear evidence (e.g., photos showing how faded the road markings actually are vs. Google Maps screenshot of a previous clearer state)?

- Has anyone successfully contested a traffic fine in Georgia as a tourist?

I'm loving Georgia so far, but I’ve already been pulled over 3 times in just 48 hours, I just had that one ticket, and the other two felt like random checks. The police behaviour/presence here is starting to make me really anxious.

Thanks in advance for your advice !
