As a trans person...

Post image

The "stuff" to be laughed off was anti-trans slurs from someone verbatim saying they were anti-LGBT

why aren't there any campaigns protecting [trans women] from attacks from men?

Uh, there are literally tons of people raising awareness for violence against trans women. Trans women of color are one of the most targeted groups by violent bigots.

"Why aren't there campaigns for violence against trans women??"

"There are."

"Okay but those call them women and that hurts my transphobic feelings :(."

There it is. The only time you care about male on male violence.

Edit; I did enjoy this clown's sperg out where they kept digging and spinning in circles trying to justify their stance lol

This convo started with you saying "trans women are hurting womens rights" quit moving the goalposts JKR.

Attacking transwomen's rights is what makes things less safe for ciswomen. Any ciswoman that doesn't perfectly look like someone's idea of what a "real" woman looks like is open to attack and harassment for being suspected of being trans.

Downvoting makes me think you don't give two shits about keeping women and girls safe. You just want to hate on transwomen.

It's like people that are supposedly anti-abortion that also don't want any of the programs that provably prevent the demand for abortions in the first place.

At no point did I say that you personally were attacking trans women's rights. I pointed out how doing so negatively impacts women and girls. The only one derailing the conversation is you by insisting you're not doing a thing I never said you were doing.

My apologies for thinking the person I was specifically having a conversation with downvoted me. A simple "That wasn't me" suffices. Acting like it's a leap of logic to think the person one is speaking with is the one that didn't like what I had to say is weird.

I answered your question you don't like the answer because it doesn't fit your head in the sand worldview. Personally I don't like when women and girl's safety is only cared about when it's used to attack other groups.

I also don't like when attacking those groups in turn actively makes women and girls less safe. Do with that what you will I guess.

I'm not the previous commenter. If you actually read the articles, you'd see that these are all separate cases.

kicking down the door to women's bathrooms

Just say you don't think trans women are women. Maybe, just maybe, letting trans women take a piss in peace without encouraging hypervigilance about who is a "real" woman would, you know, stop hypervigilance and harassment over who is a "real" woman.

bio women

Just pack it up bro

There are far more cis women who assault and harass other women (including trans women) than trans women. Why not exile them from public bathrooms? Do you care about women's safety?

"Bio woman" is a dogwhistle. The word you're looking for is "cis woman".

There is nothing that separates someone assigned male at birth from someone assigned female at birth aside from the fact that the former usually has a penis and the latter usually has a vagina, and even that is not unchangeable. "Biological sex" means absolutely nothing when I have a micropenis from taking testosterone, for example. A trans woman with bottom surgery on estrogen is functionally no different at all from a cis woman.

It's a "myth" I've seen play out in front of me and so have other people. Pretending it's a myth is at best ill informed.

Also I didn't say you did. I said attacking them makes women and girls less safe. Forcing girls to drop their pants for perverted adults that insist on knowing what's in her underwear before she can run track and field is fucked up.

It's what's being done in the name of protecting women and girls.

"Their" safety concerns that see that happening are being expressed by bigots on their behalf. Which was my whole point. But you're trying to have it both ways in that we need to bar trans women from those "protective spaces" while also trying to somehow protect the women and girls being stripped of protection in those very spaces by accusing them of being trans.

What I'm not doing is I'm not taking bigots "Safety concerns" seriously when I know it's disingenuous bullshit. Bigots want to sexually and/or physically assault my cis het daughter in the name of making sure she's really a woman when she uses the bathroom she's been using since she was born.

I'm on the side of actually protecting women. Not paying lip service to their protection while helping push an environment that sees their safety stripped away.

I'm campaigning against male violence and bigotry. You're giving them cover to enact more violence and bigotry.

why on earth do you keep writing it like that? multiple people have corrected you already that it's trans women not transwomen and yet you ignore it. funny when that's exactly what transphobes do but you insist you aren't one and yet using all the same language 🤔 lot to ponder here

it's been an issue for many years now. auto correct should be fixing it for you the way it did for me when I wrote it the way you did aka incorrectly. I criticize you for it as if it's intentional because it seems very intentional. one user responded to you by quoting what you wrote and correcting it and you proceed to continue to use it incorrectly, what else are people meant to think except that you're using it that way on purpose?

well yeah that's how that works, you use a phrase that's transphobic, people mention it, then you use another, people mention it, etc. we can't know what you'll say before you say it, that's not how humans work. the list as it is isn't arbitrary, it's been static for a very long time. you're just hitting every single one like it's a bingo card or something.

"funny how the list of things that qualify random people as transphobes keeps getting longer and longer with more and more arbitrary things added" funny how bigots say the exact same shit about other forms of prejudice (misogyny, racism, queerphobia, ableism etc), it's almost as if they can't understand that bigotry isn't just direct violence
