I personally love an X-Acto knife for sharpening pencils. My high school art teacher advised us to do so, and I’ve never gone back. I also have a little metal sharpener that works better than any electric sharpener. Does anyone else have a ride or die pencil sharpening product?
Also, any suggestions for a specific brand of paint markers? I would like to start using them on heavyweight mixed media paper.
Last, I’d love suggestions for markers or other mediums for coloring books? I currently use Prismacolor colored pencils.
Thank you in advance! 🎨🩷

I’ve been drawing for a long time, but I’ve never liked coloring. Should I learn to paint with colors, or should I continue doing monochrome drawings?
I need some advice.

Im someone whos preparing to / trying to take art as a career. I find its difficult at first to really let loose and have fun with your art when you constantly have the idea of 'getting better' in the back of your mind. I spend most days studying (fundamentals , experimenting, colors , etc) and slowly im finding a balance where i create something to take that 'next step' ahead but also enjoy the art piece.
Im at that point in my art where Im practically addicted to drawing and literally cant put down the pen.. but im still finding a balance.
How do most people find a good balance between improvent and enjoyment besides muses and inspiration?

I always liked doing art but I’ve never been good at it. Online I see artists with less artistic skills than me sell their artworks for 10-20 bucks and it’s… frustrating. I’ve tried advertising my stuff and I’ve never gotten a paid commission. Not crying for someone to pay me, by the way. Is acggoods as seller friendly as they advertise themselves to be ? I want to be able to sell some stuff on there and maybe get a few Euros in my pockets through it. I’m not in any critical financial situation, it just doesn’t hurt to have a few spare bucks nowadays + I could buy more merchandise of my interests…
Also, any advice how to render better ? Not “watch tutorials” or “just do what feels right” pls, I’ve TRIED, trust me…

Hey guys I’m writing this at a bit of a low point in my artistic career, I just had a bit of an episode not to long ago where I went to look through my art and music I’ve made, and I realized it’s not good or atleast I don’t think it’s good. Which was a super demoralizing thing, now in my defense I’ve only been doing physical art such as drawing for about a month now I’ve set a goal to draw and post one piece of art online for 100 days, like PewDiePie kinda as well as I’ve been doing sketching any chance I get on my breaks, at home, etc, and I’ve been recording and making music for about a year now I have 2 albums released. So obviously I know despite having work to show from my time doing it, I have a lot to learn still, however my issue is in the fact that I just think compared to my artist peers I’m like chopped fucking liver in both music and art. I know that comparison is like the worst thing a newer artist can do, but how can you not especially when all your artistic peers keep giving you advice on how to improve with out even one little compliment or just something to show they see improvement. I know I’m not entitled to art praise lord knows I hate people who are, but I don’t know it’s a little demoralizing I guess. As well I just feel like I can’t even call myself an artist, like it’s a title I’m undeserving of cause I’m not at some skill level above where I am now. I know this all sounds so pedantic and dumb, but it’s so hard to come to terms with the fact that despite doing these things I love I can’t even see myself as a real artist. I apologize for sounding whiney at all it’s just I’ve got a lot to say in such a rambly way, and also like I said I’m just at a low point and feel really demoralized. I do know that being so new into my journey for both music and art I can only go up, and as well I know that I need to not be so hard on myself about these things since I do tend to get really really hard on myself for both music and art but Idk I could just use some advice from anyone on how to enjoy your art without feeling like your doing it for other people. Like I know I’m doing these endeavours for myself but I’m beating myself up for not being a real artist and not making anything good especially compared to my peers. I could just use some kinda advice on how to not be so focused on what others think and to get pure enjoyment out of doing art for yourself or majority for yourself anyways, I appreciate anyone who reads this! Thank you

Been trying to learn new ways of drawing and designing. Someone suggested a different method of sketching and I struggled with it before eventually making it work.
I also wanted to experiment with hatching to see how it would look and idk how I feel about it.
I’m just kinda hoping that there is improvement though I’m not gonna fret if it’s just small or not obvious.
Lend me your ears. (Or eyes? Or fingers to type?)
Btw the character is for a DND oneshot. She’s a warforged gunslinger. Her name is Jolene.

Dusted off my old art skills and worked with a new medium, paint pens, on a new canvas, cups. Was a fun, unique experience.
