was rereading the series recently and maybe it’s just me but it felt like Book 5 ends with alot of changes in status quo and set up for future plots that are either absent or dropped by book 6 which feels like a “return to previous status quo“ again.

I'll start first......staying, for the most part, faithful to the books while also inserting new stuff into it! I'd be really cool to see some new stuff that's not in the books imo :)

So in the fowl twins, supernaturalist, and the wish list (only these as far as I'm aware let me know if there's other instances) Ishi Myishi appears as a recurring character, connecting all of the works. Do y'all see this as proof they share a universe or just a fun Easter egg by colfer?

My own thoughts aside from "he's not 13, he's 12!" And "Artemis would not call her mom!", are still pretty tentative after this summary.

At least he plans a kidnap (although technically he does in the movie too), but he doesn't really do it to heal his mom and save his family (ironically he does manage both of those things as a consequence but it wasn't really his intention). I've got a feeling this is still going to soften him quite a lot.

At least his mother is alive though!

I couldn't put down book 1, used to even prolong my commute to read more, but book 2 just seems overly wordy to me.

On one hand I don't like to abandon it, on the other hand I can use that time to read something else! Just received the Golden Son, the 2nd book in the Red Rising series. I hope at least that one keeps up with the expectations from book 1.

in folklore and myth a changeling was when fae creatures kidnapped human babies and replaced them with fae children while they raised the human child

Hopefully they adapt this right. They can't do worse than the movie right???. U think they'll follow the graphic novel or do something different. Hopefully they get his character right and make him a brat 🙏

As a child, Rainbow Dash was always my favourite character and the episode “Read It and Weep” (S2 E16) is basically a visual representation of how I first discovered Artemis Fowl and how I got very into them XD so here’s RD reading AF instead of Daring Do

I believe at the beginning of the first book there's a remark about it taking place "at the turn of the new millennium", which I take to be the year 2000. Artemis is also 12 in this book, stated clearly.

Would that mean Artemis was born in 1988?
