I'm part of Drowned Ink Studio, a small independent 2D animation studio based in Malaysia. We're looking to connect with indie creators and teams who are working on their own animated projects.

We know how much time, effort, and money it takes to bring an animation project to life, especially when you're working with a small team. Sometimes, having an extra pair of hands can make a big difference.

That's where we'd love to help!

Our studio provides 2D animation production for projects such as animated pilots, short films, and indie series. We're open to discussing projects of different scopes to see what works for both sides.

If you're not ready to commit to a full production, we're also open to starting with a small paid test cut so we can get familiar with each other's workflow first.

Needs lots of work but very fun

How do you make a turnaround for animal ears? I've been using a clay model and a 3d model to understand it. But I feel there must be some trick to pin down the ears relative to the eyes? The ears sort of "drift off" when you twist the model and get lost to the sides. Any tips? :)

The movie Dragon Hunter, released in 2008. Has some of the most dynamic character acting I’ve ever seen in any animated media… now, the animation IS a bit dated, but the attention to detail in the characters faces and movements is phenomenal! I still find myself rewinding parts of the movie over and over again, just appreciating how much effort went into making these characters feel real! The lighting is also really good at times! I partially think this movie contributed in my love of dark aesthetics. But back on track!

You can really tell animators put their souls into this movie! Little things caught me off guard, primarily the characters eyes. In the later half of the movie a character named zoé is talking to another character named Lian-chu. As she’s talking to him she looks down mid sentence as her attention switches to another character, Gwizdo. Her head stays in place, she’s still talking to Lian-chu, but her eyes are on Gwizdo... in writing it’s very basic… but I’ve never seen any animated media perfectly convey multitasking PURELY in thought like this…

The best way I can describe this movies attention to detail when it comes to the character acting is that it doesn’t hold the audience’s hand. They could’ve easily made the little girl stop mid sentence and look down at Gwizdo. But they didn’t, she didn’t even acknowledge him verbally in that moment… it was all just visual. And there are SOOO MANY details in the movie exactly like that! Like in one scene where the teams dragon is resting with zoé, and while she’s drifting off to sleep she speaks. the dragons stubby little tail wags only when her voice is audible… you can barely even tell it’s happening, yet they still animated it to show the dragons love for the little girl!

Highly recommend this movie ESPECIALLY if you love over analyzing animation lol.

I need an animator or an image drawer aka just draw one image

Hi I'm in college for animation, and I was wondering if anyone had recommendations on laptops for animation. Honestly I'm really new to animation and I mainly do illustration and character design. My current laptops ok but i doesn't have the storage space or recomed specs for animation. I want something i can use for both animation and just drawing in general but can also run the programs I'll need for school (so far all its only been Adobe but I mostly use clip studio for my own projects so i need it to be able to run Windows)

Edit: I'm not going for 3D I'm going for 2D and i very much plan on using this computer for my commission work on the side. I really just need something that has good storage, ram, and can handle animation softwares like clip studio, adobe etc.

- Employed full time for the past 2 years or more (or was employed in the last 2 years)
